1 Code Search and Fast Coder - More User-Friendly Searching and Streamlined Home Pages Are Coming July 23 July 16, 2013 We've gathered thousands of comments and queries from SuperCoder customers and in response are providing two major changes to make the site easier to use for code lookup. Starting July 23, these changes will help you find the code information you need faster including: Streamlined New Home Page Coming for Code Search, Fast Coder Home Pages 1A. Home Page Buttons for CPT 2013, ICD-9, CCI and LCD Will Move under Left Navigation Single Search of Codes, Indexes, Tables, Lay Terms, and Publications 2A. Search Results Allow Filtering by Source, Guidelines, Subscriptions, and More 2B. Code Search Result's Color Identifies Keyword-Code Mapping Source 2C. Manual Index and Table Search Instantly Accessible under Left Navigation 2D. Filtering Articles by Date Is 1 of 3 Improvements to Publications Search Results 1. Streamlined New Home Page Coming for Code Search, Fast Coder Home Pages If you subscribe to Code Search, Fast Coder, Codesets & Tools Deluxe or Codesets and Tools or you set your home page set on Code Search, you will enjoy a clutter-free new home page starting July 23. On the new home page's left side, you will have quick access to all items included on your current home page. Eventually, this left panel navigation will be added to all pages for more user-friendly code and tool access. No more navigating to dead-end pages or requests for product purchase! Only features available to your account will be included on the home page and left panel navigation.

2 1A. Home Page Buttons for CPT 2013, ICD-9, CCI and LCD Will Move under Left Navigation On the new home page's left side, you will have quick access to all items included on your current home page. Eventually, this left panel navigation will be added to all pages for more user-friendly code and tool access. Buttons on current home pages that will be moved to the left navigation include:

Single Search of Codes, Indexes, Tables, Lay Terms, and Publications Customers have told us that hunting under four search boxes based on whether the user wants results from keyword dictionaries or indexes or wants to search by codeset ranges or across documents is confusing. Therefore, SuperCoder will merge the boxes into a single search box that will eliminate having to reenter a search under each box. The new single Search box will combine the information from four Code Search boxes (Keyword & Code Search, Index Search, Range Search, Document Search) into one.

5 The entire site's information will be searchable by performing one search located in SuperCoder's masthead: 2A. Search Results Allow Filtering by Source, Guidelines, Subscriptions, and More SuperCoder's search enhancements allow the coder to enter a keyword once and see results from codesets' indexes, tables, and SuperCoder's enhanced vocabulary. You can filter the results by desired codeset(s) and result source(s). If weighted logic confuses you, you can even sort the code results numerically.

6 More Benefits: History: Return to recent search results by selecting a previously search term or code under history. Tools: Click the Tools tab to search codes details without even going to a code's details page. Compare guidelines, lay terms, even historical data. Publications: To see publications results including from CMS, simply click on Publications and search results instantly appear without requiring any term or code reentry. Store: Review web-based, print, e-learning, CDs, and other products that can help you with your search term or code.

7 See the below yellow box for tips on what you can search for under Tools. You can find the tips when you are logged out. If while logged in you perform a search that does not match the parameters, an error message will prompt you with similar tips for a successful search result. 2B. Code Search Result's Color Identifies Keyword-Code Mapping Source SuperCoder has already pulled the automated index and table lookup under Index Search into Keyword & Code Search using color-coded results. Since the information is already combined into the current Keyword & Code Search, the switch to a universal search box simply removes the separate automated Index Search box. If you've ever wondered where a code suggestion for a keyword came from, SuperCoder's color-coded search results reveals the definitive source. In SuperCoder's

8 Search box (Keyword & Code Search prior to July 23), when you enter a keyword that exists in a codeset's index, the index's suggested codes appear in purple and red. Additional codes suggested by SuperCoder's Keyword-Code Helper (KeCH) appear in blue and green. Often, the first code entry suggestion will be in purple and red meaning the result from the code book index and KeCH match. The color coding's pinpointing of the definitive source helps you: Identify the correct code faster with on-target results Code more correctly by providing the same code suggestions that you would find if you looked up the term in the indexes of CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Save time by simultaneously searching codeset indexes and KeCH Plug revenue leaks with code suggestions for abbreviations and alternative codesets for terms excluded from coding books' indexes Confidently transition from books to online knowing the purple and pink provide the same results as manual code lookup without thumb fatigue. 2C. Manual Index and Table Search Instantly Accessible under Left Navigation Direct access to manual lookup and range search will be available on the left panel under Coding. Filtering Articles by Date Is 1 of 3 Improvements to Publications Search Results Newsletter readers will be thrilled that the search now lets them simply switch between results for publications and codesets with no search word or code reentry. In addition, they can filter results by any publication date. Bonus: Latest search results will be saved so you can quickly return to a previous search without having to reenter the search term or code.
