1 November 29, technical bulletin Version 2.2 Software to be Deployed Over the Air On December 6, version 2.2 software will begin to roll out across the fleet via Over the Air update process. Depending on signal strength, all dispensers should have successfully completed the download by the end of December. Following are some of the new features in the 2.2 rollout for the 7000 series. Regional Brand Set Changes Currently the FS 7000 dispenser requires 1 of 14 different brand sets to be loaded on the dispenser at install or when and HMI/CDM is replaced, depending upon the customer s current cartridge or brand configuration. This has required that software be updated with the correct brand set either by Over the Air or USB process in order for all the cartridges to be recognized. Version 2.2 software now combines these 14 individual brand sets into 4 regional brand sets, described below. North America Regional Brand Set: contains all of the recipes for the previous 14 brand sets Subway North America Customer Brand Set: contains the same recipes as the North America Regional Brand Set, and also includes Subway specialty drinks. Quebec Regional Brand Set: contains the same recipes as the North America Regional Brand Set, but has different bilingual brand/beverage icons. This is for Canadian dispensers only. UK Regional Brand Set: contains all previous UK recipes. This change to the overall number of brand sets coupled with the Hide/Show functionality will reduce the time needed to wait for software installations and reduce the number of USB sticks (thumb drives) needed in the field to perform updates. All newly installed dispensers or dispensers that have had the HMI/CDM replaced must be updated to 2.2 either OTA or by USB to include the new regional brand set. Dispensers that are running version 2.0 or older will still require the individual brand sets which will no longer be available. Version 2.2 software will be implemented as default software on production dispensers and replacement HMI/CDMs beginning January/February Until then all new dispensers and replacement HMI/CDMs shipped from the manufacturer will have version 2.0 software with Brand Set 1 as default. 2 Freestyle 7000 Technical Bulletin November 29, 2016 Page 2 of 6 Hide/Show Beverages Currently, the FS 7000 dispenser displays its Brand offerings on the CUI (consumer user interface) based on the particular brand set that is loaded in the software. Version 2.2 software now displays the available brands based on the ingredient cartridge configuration. For example, if only Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero cartridges are inserted, assigned, confirmed, and purged, the system will only show Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero brands. Nothing else will display. If there are no cartridges in the dispenser as in Out of Box for a new installation, the CUI screen will be blank. How to Hide/Show Standard Brands 1. Simply remove the cartridge to Hide the brand on the CUI. 2. Insert, assign, confirm, and purge a cartridge to Show the available brand on the CUI. When an ingredient slot is assigned, confirmed, and purged for the first time, after navigating out of the NCUI, the system will display a pop-up window informing the user that a reboot is required for the updates to take place. A reboot will not be required for a sold-out cartridge replacement. Reboot Pop-up Window There is a certain subset of configurable beverage offerings that technicians can Hide/Show from the NCUI, which cannot otherwise be hidden by simply removing a cartridge. For Version 2.2, this includes Minute Maid, Minute Maid Light, Dasani Sparkling, and Plain/Soda Water. Note: Configurable beverage offerings are those beverages that do not have a dedicated cartridge. How to Hide/Show Subset Beverages 1. Log in as a Technician. 2. Select the Settings/Gear icon. BEVERAGE CONFIGURATION. 4. Select a brand category on the left. 5. Select an offering on the right to either hide or show (hidden beverages will be grayed out with an X). BEVERAGE CONFIGURATION The Technician will need to save after every configuration change per brand. For example, if the Technician hides a Minute Maid offering, he/she must tap SAVE when finished. Then, if the Technician hides a Dasani Sparkling offering, he/she will also need to tap SAVE when finished. The system will require a reboot, when navigating out of the NCUI, for the updates to take place. 4. Select Brand 5. Choose offering to Hide/Show 6. Select SAVE Page 2 of 6
3 Freestyle 7000 Technical Bulletin November 29, 2016 Page 3 of 6 FDA Caloric Display and Portion Control Enhancements Version 2.2 software provides the capability for the Manager/Technician to Enable or Disable the display of caloric information on the Self-Serve Beverage Selection screens (ADA Beverage Selection screens are not included for this release). This new feature supports FDA requirements to display the caloric information of beverages to Consumers. Caloric Display If enabled (YES) and configured for Self-Serve mode, the dispenser will display the caloric information. This is the default setting. If disabled (NO) and configured for Self-Serve mode, the dispenser will not display the caloric information. If configured for Crew-Serve mode, the dispenser will not display caloric information. Since caloric values are displayed by cup size, Managers/Technicians also have the capability to adjust cup sizes and execute test pours for configured portion sizes from the PORTION CONTROLS screen of the GENERAL SETTINGS. Configurations on the PORTION CONTROLS screen will be now be displayed in either Self-Serve or Crew-Serve mode, including Enable/Disable, Cup Name, and Size. In Self-Serve mode, these configurations will be used for the caloric display. Top-Off Delay will not be functional in Self-Serve mode. In Crew-Serve mode, these configurations will be used as portion controls. For dispensers in the field that are configured for Crew-Serve mode, all current portion control configurations will remain the same after the software update. How to Enable/Disable and configure Caloric Display 1. Log in to the NCUI as a Technician or Manager. 2. Select Settings/Gear icon. GENERAL SETTINGS. 4. Select DISPENSER PERSONALITY from the side navigation menu of the GENERAL SETTINGS. 5. Select YES/NO to Enable/Disable the Caloric Display. 7. 4 Freestyle 7000 Technical Bulletin November 29, 2016 Page 4 of 6 New Default Ice Agitation Value for Hard Ice The current default settings are changing to 150 min/1 sec. These new values are better default settings from a dispenser performance perspective. However, once the software has been updated, the current values set in the previous version will still be in effect, unless you change them. How to Change to the New Default Values 1. Log in as a Technician. 2. Select the SUBSYSTEMS/SPEEDOMETER icon. ICE subsystem. 4. Select ADJUST OFF CYCLE AGITATION. 5. Select SET TO DEFAULT. ICE 5. Select SET TO DEFAULT 4. Once the Technician has connected the calibration cup and started the calibration process, the software will determine if an update is needed. If so, a pop-up window will inform the Technician. If the Technician taps START, the system will begin updating and show a progress bar. Once the update has completed, a pop-up window will inform the Technician that the update was successful. If the Technician taps OK, then the system will begin the calibration process. 1. Select CALIBRATION from Settings/Gear Icon 2. Select START to begin Calibration 5.
