2 Print Manager Plus Release Station Using the Release Station as a Pay Point INTRODUCTION Installing Print Manager Plus and the Release Station as a pay point requires the install of the Print Manager Plus Product and the Print Manager Plus Release Station. It is designed to run on a Windows server or workstation that is sharing the Printers for your network, lab or library setup. PRINT MANAGER PLUS 2008 INSTALLATION: (Evaluation Registration Page) (Install this on your Print Server or the machine is hosting your shared print queues): 1. Launch the installer and follow the prompts to the point where a license key is required. If evaluating, use the evaluation key listed below if you do not already own a license. Trial key: NGPV2-FGGHV-E62DY-XEVYE 2. Continue following prompts until the database selection screen. At the database selection screen, choose the Default Microsoft Access Database Option 3. Continue following prompts until the software is fully installed. Important: If asked to reboot, please do so before attempting to use the software. CONFIGURING PRINT MANAGER PLUS: 1. Once installed, launch the Print Manager Plus Administrator from your Start Menu 2. Open the Printer s tab and select the printer you wish to have hold jobs. Click [Edit Restrictions] on the left hand side

3 3. A new dialog will appear providing a variety of restriction options, check the [Pause All Print Jobs for the Release Station] option. Once selected click [OK]

4 RELEASE STATION INSTALLATION: Prerequisites: 1. On the Print server, ensure Internet Information Services is installed on the machine this can be done from Add/Remove Windows Components. Note: On Windows Server 2003 also ensure ASP.NET is installed within Add/Remove windows components. This can be found under Application Server. 2. The Print Manager Plus Release Station also requires that the.net Framework be installed. We recommend using version 2.0 of the.net Framework which is available from Microsoft Download Center: Installing the Release Station: 3. Download the Release Station from the following link: 4. Unzip the program, and run the Setup.exe. On the first dialog, leave the settings as below and click Next

5 5. On the next screen, you will be prompted for a Domain. When using the release Station as a pay point, you will not be using an Active Directory Domain, this should be left blank. 6. Next you will be prompted for allowing users to resume their own jobs using PayPal. This feature is also for domain setups, and should be left Unchecked as below. 7. Next you will be prompted for the Administrators. Add usernames that will be able to login to the release to the list.

6 8. Clicking Next will start and finish the install. Once done, you will be prompted to set the Admin password for logging into the release station. Set this to a secure password that will be remembered. This will be the default password for all Admins. RELEASE STATION CONFIGURATION: 1. Once installed, you will need to set Security in IIS to allow users to Access the Release Station. a. Opening the IIS Administrator within Administrative Tools b. Expand the Web Sites folder, then the Default Web Site folder. Within this folder will be the PMPReleaseStation Web Application. Right click on pmpreleasestation and go to Properties. c. Click on the Directory Security tab and click the Edit button under Anonymous Access

7 d. In this dialog: i. Turn off Integrated Windows Authentication ii. Turn on Enable Anonymous Access iii. Enter in a local Admin account username and password 2. Click OK and close Internet Information Services.

8 USING THE RELEASE STATION: 1. Print a Job to the Printer that was set to pause jobs. You should see the print job sitting in the queue. 2. Open the Release Station from a Web Browser by going to Replace ServerName with the name of the print server. In our example 3. A Login page should load, login with the admin and the password you specified during install. 4. Once logged in you will see the Print jobs in queue to release or delete
