1 Installation and Procedure Guide for ATS Offsite Module This document describes the process required to setup the ATS Offsite database on your PC. There are three sections to the setup; downloading and copying the database files to a location on the local PC, downloading and installing SQL Server Express, and procedures to do for copy a team s information to the ATS Offsite database and syncing the information back to the ATS Core database. Please follow the steps below to start your installation. Step 1: Go to and download this file to your hard drive. (ats_database64.zip for 64-bit machines) Step 2: Unzip the files to a folder on your PC for later use in the installation process. Make a note of this location. You need to have full access rights to this folder and to install applications. Step 3: Follow the steps on the next 6 pages. Please follow the screen shots exactly. Any variations have not been tested and may not be supported. If you receive different screen options during your installation please contact Keffer Development Services for support. Step 4: Follow the steps starting on page 8 to learn how to connect to and use the ATS Offsite functionality. Note: The attachment and setup of the ATS Offsite database will occur on the first login of the ATS program. 2 Section 2: 32-bit ATS Offsite Installation and Procedure Guide Double-click the SQLEXPR32.EXE file in the folder you unzipped the files to. This will start the database software installation. Click Run when the screen appears. Note: This will be SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.EXE for 64-bit machines Files for the installation are extracted Check I Accept and then click Next Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 2

3 If prerequisites are needed, click Install, or click Next if none required. If not present,.net 2.0 Framework will be required to continue installing. Click Next Click Next Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 3

4 Enter your name and your company name. Uncheck Hide advanced.. and then click Next. Left click Database Services and select the Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive option. Also left click Connectivity Components under Client Components and select the Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive option. Click Next. Click Named Instance and enter SQLExpressATS, exactly as spelled, for the Named Instance. Click Next. Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 4

5 Change drop-down menu from Network Service to Local System and make sure SQL Server and SQL Browser are check at the bottom of the screen.. 7 At this point the SQL Server Express 2005 will begin the configuration and installation. Please be patient. This may take around 30 minutes. Click Next Click Finish You are done with the SQL Server Express installation step for ATS. Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 7

8 Section 2: 64-bit ATS Offsite Installation and Procedure Guide Click Installation on the left side... Click New SQL Server... Click OK once the installation is done check the setup rules. Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 8

9 Click Install when you see the Setup Support Files screen... Click Next after the rules check is completed. Click Next when the product key screen is displayed. Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 9

10 Click the I accept check-box and then the Next button... Click the box next to the Database Engine Services and then click the Next button... Enter SQLExpressATS for the named instance, then click the Next button. Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 10

11 Click the Next button when the disk space screen is shown... For the Account Name use the same for the top as you use on the bottom; then click the Next button Click the Mixed Mode option; enter ATS#287 for both passwords; click the Add Curren User button for the administrator; then click the Next button Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 11

12 Click the Next button when the Error and Usage Reporting screen is shown Once the Installation Rules are completed; click the Next button Click the Install button to start the process... Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 12

14 Section 3: This step will walk you through procedures on how to connect to and use the ATS Offsite module. Please verify with your administrator that you do have an updated activation key from Keffer Development enabling the use of the ATS Offsite module and the latest version of the ATS program. 1. Start the ATS Core program. If you have received a new activation key, please click the Change Key button on the login screen and copy the new key into the text box. 2. Log into the ATS Core application as you normally would for use of the program. 3. The next step will ask you for the location of the database folder that was unzipped during section 1, step 2. From the File menu, you should see a menu labeled Offsite Options. Click this option then click Initialize Offsite Database. Choose the folder where your database files have been unzipped to. 15 After selecting the location of your database files, the program will connect to the database and setup the proper user. You will see this message when the initialization is complete. You many then see this message which means the program has updated your local Offsite database with the latest database changes just like the ATS Core application does. 4. Then next step is to copy database for a specific team that you want to work with offline. Simply, click File -> Offsite Options -> Copy to Offsite to choose a team to copy. Choose your team and click the OK button. You should then see this message letting you know that the copying is complete. Click OK. Copyright by Keffer Development Services, LLC Page 15

16 5. Now close the ATS Core program and start it again. On the login screen, click the Advanced button to change the database value to ATSOffsite and the the server value to SQLExpressATS and enter your username and password. It is recommended to copy the values of the server, if not Default, and the database value for the Core connection into a text file or something some other file type to be able to use when reconnecting to the Core database. After logging in, you should see that the server value and the database values on the status bar of the program matching what was entered on the login screen. This means you are logged in to the Offsite database. You can search and edit athletes for the team you checked out. Admin features and other options have been disabled for the Offsite module. 6. Now you may do whatever work you need to do with this team while you are on the go and not connected to the internet at all. 7. Once you are ready to sync your team information changes back to the Core database, you will need to be connected to the internet and logged into the Core database in the ATS program. Close the ATS program connected to the Offsite database and restart the program. This step is similar to switching from the Core database to the Offsite database done before. Log into the Core database by switching the database and server values back to the Core database information. If your server value was Default you can leave the server value blank. 8. Once logged in, to sync the Offsite information changes select menu option File -> Offsite Options -> Sync to Core. You will see the message below. Click Yes. 17 Once the process has completed successfully, you will see the message below. If you receive any other type of error message, please contact Keffer Development Services. You have now synced your information back to the Core database and will be able to see all changes made in the ATS Offsite module in the Core database. To continue working in the Offsite module after syncing, you must click the Copy to Offsite menu option to get the latest team information.
