4 3 OVERVIEW This document details how to configure a windows Vista machine to connect to the wireless network. It is split into two sections. The first describes how it should work; the second should be followed if it does not work to check settings. NT0005 Instructions for setting up UoE Secure (Vista) v2.0.docx Page 4 of 11
5 4 HOW TO CONNECT TO UOE SECURE WITH A VISTA PC 1. Go to start by clicking on the windows icon on the bottom left hand corner of the screen and then, select connect to 2.Select UoE_Secure from the drop down list NT0005 Instructions for setting up UoE Secure (Vista) v2.0.docx Page 5 of 11

7 5 IF YOU CANNOT CONNECT TO THE UOE SECURE NETWORK WITH A WINDOWS VISTA PC 1. Go to start by clicking on windows icon on bottom left hand side of your screen. 2. Select Network and Internet NT0005 Instructions for setting up UoE Secure (Vista) v2.0.docx Page 7 of 11

9 5. Double click on UoE_Secure 6. The following window will appear: NT0005 Instructions for setting up UoE Secure (Vista) v2.0.docx Page 9 of 11
10 6.Select the Security Tab and ensure that settings are as follows : 7.Click on the Settings buton for PEAP. The following window should appear. Ensure that the settings match the below: NT0005 Instructions for setting up UoE Secure (Vista) v2.0.docx Page 10 of 11
11 8. Select Configure button at ( EAP MSCHAPv2) and the following window should appear. If user has laptop that is joined to the ISAD domain, then tick the box in the EAP MSCHAPv2 properties window. If user has a laptop that is not joined to the domain, then do not tick this box. If unsure, contact the IT Helpdesk in the normal manner. If your computer is set up in the manner above you should be able to connect to the UoE Secure wireless network.
