4 This document contains important product information and restrictions for RapidDR Software from SimpliVity Corporation. RapidDR Update 1 from SimpliVity Corporation provides the initial release of the software and therefore contains only new features. General restrictions and known issues The following general restrictions and known issues apply in this release. Incorrect error stating duplicate virtual machine names. When configuring a large number (>100) of virtual machines into a recovery group, you may encounter an error that there are duplicate virtual machine names. Reduce the number of virtual machines in a single recovery group by dividing the virtual machines across multiple recovery groups. Deleted VNICs may still be listed in the networking settings page If, after creating a recovery configuration, you remove a virtual NIC from a virtual machine that virtual NIC may continue to show in the virtual machine's recovery settings. Remove the virtual machine from the recovery configuration, save the configuration, and then add the virtual machine again. DHCP may not be configurable for subsequent vnics If DHCP is enabled at the recovery group level, virtual machines with more than one virtual NIC, you may not be able to set DHCP on additional NICs. DHCP must be enabled manually after the recovery is complete. Resolved issues The following issues have been resolved in this release. 4

5 "IP configuration error for CentOS" This may occur with a IP configuration issue with CentOS and Red Hat Linux. After booting a cloned CentOS 6.x (or equivalent Red Hat) virtual machine, you may notice that the eth0 is missing and the only available adapter is in the loopback interface. After restoring a virtual machine from a backup, the CentOS Linx server has renamed eth0 as eth1, eth1 as eth2, and so on. Bad Connection SSL/TSL If RapidDR is left open and the user is inactive for a prolonged period of time, the SSL session may time out and present an error regarding a bad SSL/TLS handshake or improper SSL/TLS connection. Blank error message when attempting a recovery of a datastore that is smaller than the virtual machine. During a recovery execution, the recovery of virtual machines to a datastore that is smaller than the size of the virtual machine may result in an error condition that does not provide a descriptive error message. A virtual machine may be placed in the wrong recovery group In rare situations, when moving a virtual machine between recovery groups, the virtual machine may show in multiple recovery groups in the settings configuration dialogue. Deleted virtual machines may not display correctly Virtual machines configured in a RapidDR recovery configuration must exist in the source vcenter when modifying the recovery configuration. If a virtual machine has been deleted, then it may fail to display properly during the modify workflow. Special characters are not allowed in a vcenter password RapidDR does not allow special characters in a vcenter password. 5
