1 Clearing Cache for NAVBLUE Web App The data that the NAVBLUE Web App uses is downloaded into data storage within the browser called a cache. If you have issues with the Web App, clearing the cache and resynchronizing the Web App will often fix the problem. 2 While we have gone through the steps in the context of actually deleting the NAVBLUE Web App cache in this document, this site offers a good general set of instructions on clearing or refreshing your browser s cache. Google Chrome Windows Technique 1 1. Type or copy and paste the following text into the URL window: chrome://settings/cookies/detail?site=deltapilotbids.delta.com 2. This should bring up the following window where you can simply select REMOVE ALL. Figure 1 2

3 Technique 2 1. Enter chrome://appcache-internals into the URL window. 2. Find the manifest labeled: Note that you can use Ctrl-F to help you search. If you start entering pbsappcache as the search target, you will probably narrow the search before you get to the fourth letter. 3. Use Remove Item to delete the cache. Figure 2 3

4 Technique 3 There is also another way to delete the cache using the menus. 1. Select the menu from the three vertical dots in the upper left of the screen. 2. Choose More tools. 3. Choose Clear browsing data. 4. Make sure that you choose to go back a sufficient length of time. Choose the items shown in Figure 3 and click on the Clear browsing data button. 5. Figure 3 4

5 Internet Explorer 11 Windows Blank Screen If you have a blank screen in IE, the most likely problem is that you are in compatibility mode. This makes IE render that page as if it is in IE 7. This is a mode to make older websites that were built with old Microsoft proprietary web technology work. This is the most common cause of problems when using Delta Computers. To turn off compatibility mode: 1. Click on the Gear icon or use Tools if you have a menu bar. 2. Select Compatibility View settings. 3. Delete delta.com from sites that should be viewed in compatibility mode. Figure 4 5

6 Deleting the cache While we think that Google Chrome offers better performance, the PBS Web App is compatible with Internet Explorer. If you are getting to the initial website, but the app has issues such as loading screens, clearing the cache will probably help. 1. Use the gear icon or Tools from the menu bar. 2. Choose Internet Options in the General tab. 3. Choose Settings under Browsing history. 4. From the Website Data Settings box, choose the Caches and databases tab. 5. Delete the delta.com data. 7 If you still have issues, you can continue with the following steps: 1. Get to Internet Options by using the gear icon or the Tools or using the Gear icon 2. Choose the Delete button in Browsing History. 3. Check the Temporary Internet files and website files and Cookies and website data. 4. Click the Delete button. Figure 6 7

8 Safari ios Still from the Safari options, clear the delta.com data using Advanced > Website Data as shown below. If you still have issues, you can try Clear History and Website data and then try the previous step again. Figure 7 Figure 8 This may not be necessary 8

9 Safari Mac 1. Go to Preferences. 2. Click on Details for Cookies and other website data. 3. Remove the Delta.com data. This should work. However, if you are still having problems, you may want to clear the history as shown in Figure 11 and do the above steps again. Figure 9 Figure 10 9
