4 1 OVERVIEW SONiX 32-bit MCU ISP (In System Program) Tool is SONiX provides users with a simple and fast Firmware update platform. ISP Tool AP use together with ISP Tool (SN-LINK_V2.0) to update Target Board s (SONiX 32-bit Series MCU) Firmware online. Figure 1 is an ISP Tool connection diagram.this section will introduced this three parts, Target Board, ISP Tool and ISP Tool AP. Target Board ISP Tool ISP Tool AP SONiX 32-bit MCU Starter-Kit Board SN-LINK_V2.0 SONiX 32-bit MCU ISP Tool AP Figure 1 Target Board Target Board can select all SONiX 32-bit series MCU. SN-LINK_V2.0 can Support different SONiX 32-bit MCU family. SN32F100 SN32F700 SN32F710 SN32F720 SN32F730 SN32F740 SN32F750 and SN32F760. ISP Tool Currently SN-LINK_V2.0 supports all SONiX 32-bit Series MCU. Note: SN_LINK_V2.0 FW version is V01.02, Please refer to the SN-LINK_Package_V2.x to update SN_LINK FW. AP SONiX 32-bit MCU ISP (In System Program) Tool AP can be updated online in the following OS: WinXP, Vista, Win7...etc. This document describes how to use the ISP Tool AP via SN-LINK_V2.0 for 32-bit MCU to be updated and ISP Tool AP additional features, Please refer to Chapter 2. SN-LINK_V2.0 and Chapter 3. Rolling code. SONiX TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD Page 4 Version 3.1

5 2 ISP SN-LINK_V2.0 supports SONiX 32-bit MCU models are SN32F700, SN32F710, SN32F720, SN32F100, SN32F730, SN32F740, SN32F750, SN32F760, the remaining models are not supported. This chapter introduction how to operate ISP Tool AP. 2.1 ISP Operation STEP 1: Target Board to enter Boot Loader Please short BOOT pin of SONiX 32-bit MCU Starter-Kit Board to ground, and then power on. MCU will enter boot loader, and wait for commands from ISP tool. In this paper, as described SN32F700 Starter-Kit Board in Figure. Note: If you are using the version of Starter-Kit Board as described in the non-paper, the other SONiX 32-bit MCU Starter-Kit have the same words "BOOT" on the board, please short BOOT pin to ground, and power on. If the user use the board that drawing by yourself, it must be used by the MCU's BOOT Pin to grounded and power on, the BOOT Pin more information, please refer to the 32-bit series MCU model documentation. Figure 2 STEP 2: connected to SN-LINK_V2.0 Please connected the SN-LINK/ISP connector on the SONiX 32-bit MCU Starter-Kit Board and on the SN-LINK_V2.0, and connected SN-LINK_V2.0 to the PC via USB cable connection, as Figure. 6 Figure 3 Note: If the user is using SN32F760 Starter-Kit Board, please connect URX0 and UTX0 to JP15 that user code setting, if there is no User code in SN32F760, you will connect P0.0 to URX0 and P0.1 connect to UTX0. The position of the figure below the red box Figure 4 STEP 3: Open the ISP Tool UI Please open the file "SONiX_32Bit_MCU_ISP_Tool_Vx.xR.exe " which in the "SONiX 32-bit MCU ISP Tool Vx.x" document package, and the AP information shown in Figure. 7 STEP 4: Select Chip Please click "Select Chip" or Press the Key C, and chose the MCU name from CHIP LIST, and press "OK" to get the current MCU information, shown in Figure have more information. STEP 5: Select HEX file Figure 6 Figure 7 And select the HEX file to be updated, and click on "Open", the information shown in Figure. When selecting the highest level, a warning message will alert the user, to the message as follows. the information shown in Figure. Figure 11 STEP 7: Wrong Message Please confirm MCU Message field information is correct. As described in the following three error messages appear, please return to STEP 1 re-operation, and confirm whether directed into Boot Mode, choose the 32-bit MCU model is correct HEX file with the correct size. 1. 9 2. Chip ID does t match:please check the MCU NAME choice is correct. SONIX 32-Bit MCU Series Figure HEX file size error:please check the loaded HEX file size exceeds the MCU ROM size. Figure 14 STEP 8: Select the correct information If you choose the MCU loaded HEX file information and correct information will appear in the Device and Message fields, the information shown in Figure, Confirm the number of connections displayed the same number of windows. Device Windows:According to the current connected SN_LINK-V20, compared with the User choose whether information is correct, the number of successfully completed Handshake Device to display in the window, Chip Name and Boot Loader Version,currently supports up to 4 Device. 2. Message Windows:Show Handshake successful MCU information, Chip Name, Load Hex file path, Chip Size and the HEX flied check sum. STEP 9: Start Update Please click "Start" or Press the Key S and Key Enter, to begin the firmware update, when update is not successful, do not unplug the SN LINK and MCU power supply. 1. Updated successfully When the Device windows show the green light, their Status as 100%, Progress schedule are full, Result appear OK (time), on behalf of User selected with the HEX code security update is successful, the following chart information. 11 Note: During the update process, please do not disconnect SN LINK and MCU power supply, because of improper operation caused an update error or update fails. Note: After updating the Code Option setting, please must reset MCU that let the new settings Code option to work. 2. Update Failed When the Device windows show the red light, their Status is not 100%, Progress progress under, Result is Program fail, on behalf of User selected code security and HEX not updated successfully, Message windows will display Device is Set code security fail or Program fail, as shown below, please check SN_LINK-V20 User flashing red light that support Device to Fail, please try again. 12 Note: After the update is complete, Target Board MCU model SN32F700/SN32F710/SN32F720 and Boot Loader version previous to version V1.2, ISP Tool MCU will leave the Boot Loader, Perform firmware updates. Note: Only support KEIL generate the hex file, please remember to check the "Create HEX File" in KEIL setting, below the red frame at Figure 27 KEIL interface. 13 3 ROLLING CODE ISP Tool provides User can update Rolling code, currently can supports four Device. User can select their own Start Address, Word Length, Rolling Value and Step value. Detailed usage process is as follows: 3.1 Rolling code Operation STEP 1: Build INI file The INI file and HEX file will be placed in the same folder, and the name must be the same, As shown, otherwise it will not turn on Rolling code function. Figure 19 Note: How to create INI files, please refer to the document "32 bit MCU rolling code setting function description." STEP 2: Select Chip Operation 2.1 chapters STEP1 to STEP8 later, when UI judgment INI file exists, it will enable the Rolling code function, as shown below. 14 STEP 3: Enable Rolling code Figure 21 To update Rolling code, Please tick the Enable Rolling code or Press the Key E. Figure 22 STEP 4: Set Rolling code After pressing the Set Rolling code or Press the Key R, the window will appear as shown below, displays information about the current INI file, User can also set up information about Rolling code. However, care must be taken with a Word Length and Star Address settings must with HEX file (User code) set match, Otherwise it will cause the updated ROM code errors and abnormal behavior.
