A green adapter icon with black descriptive text represents an online adapter. Blue text represents an adapter port that had previously been discovered, but currently is not being seen by the discovery engine (service). The adapter is removed from the discovery-tree if it still is not seen after the undiscovered adapter expiration time has elapsed (default is 1800 seconds, or 30 minutes). If the adapter is discovered again before the expiration time has elapsed, it reverts back to normal black text. The port icon represents an adapter port. A port icon with a red X indicates the link is down. Note: Multiport adapters are represented in the discovery-tree with separate port icons for each port with the port number displayed next to the icon. The iscsi icon represents an iscsi PCI function instance. iscsi functions can support up to sixteen logical adapters, with each logical adapter appearing in the discovery-tree as a separate child node under the respective iscsi function. The green iscsi icon represents an iscsi PCI function on-line instance. A black iscsi icon represents an iscsi PCI function port-disabled instance. A red iscsi icon represents an iscsi PCI function link down instance. The green FCoE icon represents an FCoE PCI function on-line instance. The ASIC node icon, only displayed for OneConnect dual ASIC 4 port 8Gb/s FC adapters, represents each ASIC on the adapter. Each ASIC is managed independently. The ASIC node format "ASIC bus#-sub-adapter#" represents the PCI bus number and the sub-adapter number, which is a concatenation of the discovered port numbers for the ASIC. For example, "ASIC 64-12" represents PCI bus number 64, and 12 represents ports 1 and 2. If there were no discovered functions for a port on that ASIC, the label would be "ASIC 64-2" (port 1 is missing) The OneCommand Manager application GUI (in Windows)

Confirming OCM_CLI version 1. Execute the following command. # hbacmd Version 2. See the value of "Command Line Interface" column The OneCommand Manager application CLI (in Linux)

Starting OCM_CLI The CLI Client component of the OneCommand Manager application provides access to the capabilities of the Remote Management library or the CIM interface from a console command prompt to get the management information. The CLI Client is intended for use in scripted operations from within shell scripts or batch files. The CLI Client is a console application named HbaCmd. A single operation is performed by entering "hbacmd", followed by a CLI client command and its possible parameters, at the command line. # hbacmd <command> [parameters] When the specified operation is completed, the command prompt is displayed. For a majority of commands, the first parameter following the command is the WWPN or MAC address of the port that the command is to act upon. The following syntax rules and usage are applicable for the HbaCmd application:. Parameters denoted within angle brackets < > are required.. Parameters denoted within square brackets [ ] are optional.. For Linux, program names must be in lowercase letters, therefore, the command line must begin with "hbacmd" (rather than "HbaCmd").. An optional IP address or host name can be specified using the "h" option with the following syntax: hbacmd [h=ip_address[:port] Hostname[:port]] <command> [parameters]. If the "h" option is omitted, the command is run on the local host.. If the "h" option is specified, the command is sent to the specified remote host (assuming it is specified correctly, the remote host is up, and the remote host is running the OneCommand Manager remote management agent.. The ":port" option is optional. If omitted, the OneCommand Manager remote management protocol uses the default TCP port. If specified, it uses the user-specified TCP port.. Examples: Using the IP address: hbacmd h= ListHBAs Using the host name: hbacmd h=cp-hp5670 ListHBAs. The "h" option is available for all commands except for the AddHost, RemoveHost, and the Version commands. The OneCommand Manager application CLI (in Linux) 4-11

. For FC ports, the WWPN of the adapter must be specified. Where the WWPN is specified, each pair of numbers within the WWPN is separated by colons (:) or spaces ( ). When using space separators, the entire WWPN must be enclosed in quotes (" "). For example, the following command displays the port attributes for the adapter with the specified WWPN: hbacmd PortAttributes 10:00:00:00:c9:20:20:20. For iscsi and NIC ports, the MAC address must be specified. Where a MAC address is specified, each pair of numbers within the MAC address is separated by a dash (-). For example, the following command sets the target properties for the UCNA port with the specified MAC address with an extended timeout value of "1": hbacmd SetTargetProperties iscsitarget 1. For NIC ports, only the permanent MAC address is supported for the port address parameter on an HbaCmd command line. Normally, for a UCNA port, the port's permanent MAC address and current MAC address parameters are equal. However, it is possible to set a userspecified (current) MAC Address that is different from the permanent MAC address. Also, for some implementations, it is possible to have multiple UCNA ports with the same current MAC addresses, but with unique permanent MAC addresses. Therefore, to ensure that the OneCommand Manager can access the correct port, only the permanent MAC address is supported. Note that both the permanent MAC address and the current MAC address are displayed by using the ListHBAs command The OneCommand Manager application CLI (in Linux)

Configuring by OCM_CLI Configuring the Personality Configuring the personality of onboard CNA or CNA expansion card by the OCM_CLI is not supported. See "Hitachi Compute Blade Emulex Adapter User's Guide for Hardware" for configuring the personality. Configuring the PXE Boot Configuring the PXE by OCM_CLI is not supported. See "Hitachi Compute Blade Emulex Adapter User's Guide for Hardware" for configuring the PXE. Configuring UEFI on the system is necessary for the PXE Boot. See "EFI User's Guide" for the PXE boot Driver Parameter Settings The driver parameter can be set by the OCM_CLI. Setting the parameter "lun-queue-depth" is explained below. The performance may be improved by changing the setting of "lun-queue-depth". 1. Confirm the current value of "lun-queue-depth" parameter by "GetDriverParamsGlobal" command. Syntax : hbacmd GetDriverParamsGlobal <WWPN> WWPN : Adapter's WWPN Example : hbacmd GetDriverParamsGlobal 10:00:00:00:c9:dc:4a:48 2. Change the value of "lun-queue-depth" parameter by "SetDriverParam" command. For example, the "lun-queue-depth" value changes from "1e (default value)" to "1f" in this explanation. Execute the following command. Syntax : hbacmd setdriverparam <WWPN> <Flag1> <Flag2> <Param> <Value> Flag1 : L = Make change local for this adapter only. G = Make change global (all adapters on this host). Flag2 : P = Make change permanent (persists across reboot). T = Make change temporary. Param : Name of the parameter to modify. Value : New parameter value, decimal or hexadecimal (0xNNN) The OneCommand Manager application CLI (in Linux)

Example : hbacmd setdriverparam 10:00:00:00:c9:dc:4a:48 G P lunqueue-depth 1f 3. This procedure is successful if the following is displayed. Set Driver Parameter lun-queue-depth=0x1f (G P) for 10:00:00:00:c9:dc:4a:48 Driver Parameter 'lun-queue-depth' successfully set to '0x1f' for all emulex adapters on this host. 4. Reboot the system and the procedure is complete. The setting value of "lun-queue-depth" : The performance may be improved by changing the setting of "lun-queue-depth". The value is limited as follows. The number of LUN to be accessed * lun-queue-depth must be less than 512. (lun-queue-depth = 1 ~ 32) LUN is 17 for example: - When lun-queue-depth is 32 : 17 * 32 = 544 : NG - When lun-queue-depth is 31 : 17 * 31 = 527 : NG - When lun-queue-depth is 30 : 17 * 30 = 510 : OK iscsi Target Settings (1) Connecting to iscsi Target Connecting to or disconnecting the iscsi target can be set by the OCM_CLI.
