Accessing Wesley College Student 1/24/2012

1 Students are able to access Wesley College securely from on or off campus by using a web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox). In order to use your new account, simply follow these steps: 1. Open your Internet browser and enter the URL for the Wesley Wesley Student is hosted by Microsoft Live. 2. You should see the following connection dialog box (IE): 3. Type in your Windows Live ID, which is your Wesley ID (firstname.lastname@ .wesley.edu). 4. Type in your password. For new users, your password is your first initial of your first name, first initial of your lastname, and 7-digit student id. For example, John Smith, Student ID # , would have the password js Click Sign In to log into your account. The format is very similar to Microsoft Hotmail. You can read your , create new messages, etc. just as you do in Hotmail.

2 The first time you log in you will be presented with additional steps in order to finalize the creation of your Wesley account. This screen will appear: Pick your choices for language and Time Zone. Wesley College is located in the Eastern Time (US & Canada) Time Zone. Click OK to accept your choices You will be directed to your Wesley College Student Inbox. For assistance, contact the Wesley College Information Technology Help Desk at (302) or at We will confirm your identity through the last four digits of your Social Security Number and provide assistance.

3 We recommend changing your password soon after you access your account for the first time, as well as periodically (every 4 months, 6 months, or some period) to protect your identity and any saved s. To change your password, click on the OPTIONS tab in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The following drop down appears: Click on the menu item for See All Options A list of shortcuts to other options appears. Click on the option for Change your password. The next screen contains a section in the middle as it appears below. Click on the Change option to the right of the Password entry. Last updated

4 The last screen to be displayed is the Change your password screen as show below. Enter the old password, then the new password, entering it twice. We recommend the use of upper and lower case characters, numbers, and special characters until the Password strength meter reads Strong. Click the SAVE button to complete the password change. 5 The Wesley College Student account is a very robust organizational system, including a Calendar and Contacts. We encourage you to explore both of these to take full advantage of what they offer. In addition, included in this account is the Microsoft SkyDrive, including 25Gb of storage of any type of files, accessible from anywhere a PC is connected to the Internet. Save a file on from your laptop at home while on break, access it in your Resident Hall room to modify it, then from the Library Computers to print on the payto-print system. Another feature of the SkyDrive is access to Microsoft Office 2010 suite of products, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. This products are free to use, as well as to save to your local drive for use offline in a licensed version of Microsoft Office.
