2 Introduction Past year sessions have focused on basics; this session will focus on how to take existing Dragon users to the next level Not just for dictation! Robust custom commands Ability to control your whole computer by voice Streamline workflows Document assembly by voice

3 Searching the Web Dragon uses default web browser and default search engine and searches in 3 ways Search the Web; Search a Specific Website; and Search a Category on the Web Examples: Search Google for ABA TECHSHOW Search Ebay for ipads Search the web for pizzerias in downtown Chicago Search maps for Chicago, IL

4 Keyboard Shortcuts By default the following HotKeys are available, but may be changed to suit each user under Options.

5 Custom Commands Any redundant task, keystroke, phrase, etc. can be automated by voice Custom Commands include: Text and Graphics commands - e.g. insert signature block Step by Step commands easy to record one or more keystrokes Macro Recorder much like Word or WordPerfect macro recorder start/stop recording Advanced Scripting call files and other advanced tasks e.g. launch letterhead template

6 Custom Commands Add new command Give command a name Indicate what type of command and whether global, application specific or window specific Text and graphic commands can simply be copied and pasted Step by step commands indicate each keystroke in order desired Train commands if unusual words

7 Specialty Software Custom commands and dictation work in all windows applications, including legal time & billing, case management and other products Easy to dictate time/fee entries, phone notes, etc. and navigate throughout the products Open calendar Create new time entry Start document assembly Commands for various products may be available (Tabs3/PracticeMaster, PCLaw, Time Matters, etc.) import/export capable

8 Document Assembly by Voice Take standard documents and put square brackets around variable text Dragon will see these fields and jump to each when you say next field Can be combined with other custom commands insert text commands to insert standard language

9 Vocabulary Building Vocabulary menu > Add new words or phrase Written form versus spoken form E.g. the written form may be Internal Revenue Service and spoken form may be IRS Great for proper names too Can import a list of words/phrases frequently used

10 Accuracy Center Help > Improve my Accuracy Import a List of Words or Phrases Learn from Sent s Adds the names of people you have sent to Learn from Specific Documents Analyzes frequency and order in which words appear to better understand your writing style

11 Microphone Options Add Audio Sources use multiple microphones with same audio profile E.g. USB microphone in the office and mobile recorder outside of the office Some mobile recorders may be used as USB microphones as well (e.g. Philips 9600) Wireless headset user? Less clutter to have 1 headset for both office phone and computer. Even possible to use one device for cell phone

13 Roaming Profiles Share your voice profile across multiple PCs on the network Secretary/transcriptionist can improve attorney s profile accuracy by correcting documents with roaming profile open No additional license required Setup roaming profiles under Tools > Administrative Settings

14 Digital Dictation Most digital dictation products now have integration with Dragon in some form Philips SpeechExec Quikscribe Use Dragon s Auto-Transcribe Folder Agent Dictation takes a detour through Dragon on its way to secretary Already transcribed secretary merely proofreads and formats
