Finding Full Text Articles Using the IWU Databases

Is it full text someplace else? You can also locate articles that are not full text in PyscINFO but may be in another IWU database or available in paper in the IWU Library. Let s see how! Note the Get it! link. 4

What if you only have a citation for an article. You can also use the journal search tool to locate the journal. Sometimes the red Get it! button misfires or you do not know what database it might be full text. You can simply check directly in the Journal Search tool. 6

8 This tells you where/how it is available. This title is available from 2 databases. If you need the most recent year, you will have to use the link to the Springer database. Otherwise, Academic Search Complete will work, too.
If the results say it is available in IWU Jackson Library Print Journals, use the OCLS request form or call OCLS to obtain a scanned copy of the needed article. From this display, it should be available from 1990 to the present in the library s print journals. 9

Academic Search Complete Although not a psychology specific database, it is one of the most comprehensive scholarly, multidisciplinary full text databases. In includes PDF content for as far back as 1887. Can limit to full text and peer-reviewed articles. Good database to try when needing just a few articles on your research topics. 11

15 You can further limit to Full Text and/or Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals. It might be good to also checkmark References Available for the reasons cited in a previous PowerPoint.
Since this is another EBSCO database (vendor) some of the same functionality is available for printing, saving to folders, etc. To save long term, create a MyEBSCO account, from the top of the screen. Articles that are placed in your folder will always be available, no matter which EBSCO database you are working. Sign In each time you search. 16
