2 Introduction This presentation demonstrates how the SimDesigner Gateway easily enables the use of CATIA solid models as the basis for structural finite element models by transferring node, element and boundary condition data from CATIA to a standard MSC Nastran data file. 2

19 Conclusions SimDesigner Gateway enables users to conveniently and efficiently transfer finite element model data from CATIA solid models to a Nastran output file. CAD model changes are easily reflected to the FEA model. SimDesigner is integrated into the CATIA GUI while enabling user control of preprocessing and solution in Nastran. 19
