3 My favorite thing to watch on television is anything that has someone getting kicked off. The old game shows from the past are great to pass the time. I find myself drawn to shows like Survivor or the Amazing Race just because people can loose. I even enjoy watching Top Shot! I Survived a Japanese Game show is based in Japan and I loved it! My favorite thing to watch on television is reality TV! My Jumpstart

4 What is data? After you collect it where do you put it? What is it used for? Review

5 Does anyone have any data? How are your projects coming along? If you have not started yet, you should do so ASAP! Does anyone have any data?

6 You may have noticed a pattern in your data. You may think that it is obvious to see in a data table but you need to do more. Sometimes you have too much data to be able to use it in a table alone. Organization/Patterns

7 Often scientists will use a graph or chart to show off their data. It is much easier and nicer to look at then a bunch of things in a data table. We are going to learn how to create some of these graphs. You must have a graph or chart on your project. Graphs and Charts

8 If you used qualitative data it may seem impossible to have a chart or graph. This is where you would use a frequency table. Here is an example Qualitative data

13 Graphs { Different Types

14 Can you name some different types of graphs? What do you use them for? A graph is a great way to compile and analyze your data. Graphs

15 Before you make your graph, round all your data points to the same decimal point. Make sure you have averages if you did different trials. You also need to make sure you have the right type of graph. The graph needs to be clearly labeled. Tips

17 The data is not grouped in different categories. They are great for showing something over time. Can you think of any great experiments that could use this? Line Graph

19 Data must be in distinct categories. It is easy to see which one is more effective or has the greatest quantity of data. Can you name some great projects that could use bar graphs? Bar Graph

24 You make paper airplanes out of four different materials and see how far each plane flies.

25 You place a rock in a jar of sand and water and shake it every day. Then weigh the rock and see how much it has eroded.
