3 Chapter 1: The Responsibilities of Being an Animator Animators are individuals who create visual effects for television and video games for a living. Their primary responsibilities are working creatively, pleasing designs, and creating films. In addition to those responsibilities, Animators also have to work all day. The skills needed for this job are Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya's, Adobe After Effects, and 3D Animation. In addition to these skills Animators must have the following abilities. First, to work a computer. Then, Animators have to be able to work with a team. Also, they must have patience and pay attention to details. Animators use technology and specific tools to do their jobs. These include computers, tablets, I pads, and lap tops (etc.) Animation 3

4 The advantages and disadvantages of being an animator are that you get 85% electronic time and you get hours of creating creatures. A disadvantage is that you have to sit at a desk all day. Another advantage is you get to work on a computer all day. Another disadvantage is you have to work with people you don't like. There are different types of animation like 2D, 3D and Computer animation. You might think that they are litteraly the same thing and have no difference between them. The differences are that the 2D movies are the movies like Aladin, 3D movies are the movies like The Incredables. Computer animation is when the Animators use their own drawings and make them come to life or they can draw a character on a computer or I pad and make those come to life. DID YOU KNOW? There are different types of Animators. Animators focus on movies and work mostly with computers. Also related to this job are Art Directors, Video Producers, and Graphic Designers. 4

5 Chapter 2: Chapter Title: Reasons Why People Would Like Being an Animator Five reasons people want to be an Animator is because they get to create creatures that become very popular. They will also make a somewhat amount of money. They get to create mongas. You get to become very popular, and you get to draw on a computer. I think people would best like that you get to be creative, be able to have fun all the time, and create your own things. 6 Chapter 3: The Salary Animators Make Animators do not all make the same amount of money. When Animators start out, they make $47,000 a year. Towards the end of their careers, Animators can make as much as $76,000 a year. The chart below shows how much money ( $$$$$) Animators make. Some types of Animators make more a year or less. For example, Animators make an average of $47,000 per year, while other Animators can make an average of $49,803 per year. 7 Chapter 4: Do You Need To Go To College and Do You Need Any Degrees to Become An Animator To become an Animator you need to go to college because you need your degrees. The degrees you need are your Bachelors degree and your Associates degree. The kind of school you need to go to too get your degrees is Undergraduate school for four years. 8 Chapter 5: Where Do Animators Work Animators work in offices and business buildings. Animators also work at home. Like in their bedrooms, garage, office, and mancave. Animators don't work anywhere else but you can if you would like to. 8

9 Chapter 6: Walt Disney He created the company Disney. He was a Voice Actor and Film Producer. He also made movies like Snow white, Cinderella, The wonderful world of colors, Fantaisia, Pinocio, Dumbo, Sleeping beauty, Bambi, and many more. Dr. Suess He was a cartoonist/animator before he wrote books. He was an artist too! He wrote the books The Cat In The Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Oh The Places You'll go The Lorax, and many more. Tim Burton He was a film director, artist, and writer. Tim Burton was known for his dark fantacy films. He made the movies Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, and Ms. Perigrines Home For Pecullior Children. 9
