The Design & Media IFCC met on September 19, 2014 in Macon to discuss the contact minutes in their courses and other curriculum topics. It was the consensus of the faculty to adjust the contact minutes for courses that had 750 lecture minutes to 1500 lecture minutes and to reduce Lab 2 minutes from 4500 to 3000 and also to review courses that contain more than 4 credit hours. Following a lengthy discussion, the IFCC agreed that students require more didactic instructions and less lab time. The following courses were recalculated under the 1500 lecture minutes and 3000 Lab 2 minutes formula. The Printing Operations specialization was dropped from the diploma (DEM2-Specialization 8PP2) and degree (DAM3-Specialization 8PP3) programs; therefore, the following courses are no longer required in either program. However, a course from that specialization may be used as an elective Introduction to the Printing Industry 2205 Basic Printing Operations 2210 Intermediate Printing and Finishing Operations 2215 Advanced Printing and Post Operations 5.
