double-bar graph - A bar graph that compares two related sets of data The frequencies are the height of the bars in the bar graph. (Girls soccer = 6 Students) Notice the space between the bars.
The following are the ages when a randomly chosen soccer group of 20 boys and 20 girls began playing in a local youth soccer league. The frequencies are the heights of the bars in the bar graph. Use a different color to represent each gender.

Histogram - a bar graph that shows the frequency of data within equal intervals. Notice - NO spaces between the bars!! frequency - the number of times a data item occurs
Make a frequency table with 30-minute intervals. Then make a histogram.

Double-Line Graphs is used to show how two related sets of data change over time.
Make a double-line graph of the given data. Use the graph to estimate the number of measles cases and whooping cough cases in Plot the data. The graph shows about 200,000 whooping cough cases and about 650,000 measles cases in 2002.
Make a double-line graph of the given data. Use the graph to estimate the number of Strawberries and Figs grown in 2002.

Make a double-line graph of the given data. Use the graph to estimate the number of CDs and DVDs sold in 2003.
In this lesson, we reviewed how to display data in bar graphs, histograms, and line graphs. Graphs allow you to visually compare data with ease. Let's review the examples. What are the similarities and differences among the types of graphs. Some important points are that each bar in a histogram represents an interval and that line graphs are a good way to show changes over time.
Bar graph: Data are grouped; data are displayed in separate bars. Histogram: Data are grouped into equal intervals; there are no spaces between data bars; it is a type of bar graph. Line graph: Specific data points are represented; trends are shown; points are drawn directly on vertical lines extending up from the horizontal axis.
Bar graph: Data are grouped; data are displayed in separate bars. Histogram: Data are grouped into equal intervals; there are no spaces between data bars; it is a type of bar graph. 45 Tonya surveyed 14 children at an after school day care to find out how many hours they spend there. Use the data to make a Histogram.
Jimmy surveyed 12 children to find out how much money they received from the tooth fairy. Use the data to make a histogram. First, make a frequency table with intervals of $1.00. Then make a histogram. Frequency Money Given by the Tooth Fairy

Histogram - Shows the frequency of data divided into equal groups. Frequency Table - Listing items according to the number of times that the items occur. 1. Make a frequency table. 2. Make a histogram. Histograms do not have spaces between the bars. Jimmy asked 12 children how much money they received from the tooth fairy. Use the data to make a histogram with intervals of $1.00. $0.35, $2.00, $0.75, $2.50, $1.50, $3.00, $0.25, $1.00, $1.00, $3.50, $0.50, $3.00
