2 Release Notes for Norman Protection Version: 5.70 New features New features This latest release of Norman Protection 5.70 includes installer improvements and several bug fixes for all Web Components. Some of these changes include: The installation has been simplified by integrating a preconfigured database called ModusLocalDB. This database is a variant of the latest Microsoft SQL 2014 version. The new lightweight SQL database (LocalDB ~40MB) reduces the download and optimizes the installation process time for new installs. The latest MS SQL version 2014 (x86/x64) is now a supported database platform. Performance improvements in regards to accessing quarantine messages from Web Admin. Several major bug fixes for Web Quarantine, Web Admin and Web Quarantine. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ The version 5.61 release was a critical upgrade for all our customers to ensure that your servers are fully protected. As of December 2014, existing antivirus engine no longer provides any virus updates and any system still running a version of Norman Protection 5.5x or earlier will be vulnerable to malware. System Requirements Operating System Windows Server 2003, 2003 R2, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 and Small Business Server (SBS) versions 2008 and 2011, all with the most recent Service Pack. Virtual Machines (VM) are also supported. Windows Web Edition is not supported. Web Server IIS version 6.0 or later Components MDAC 2.8 SP1 or higher Windows NET Framework 3.5 and.net Framework 4.0 Windows 2008 and higher -.NET Framework 3.5 and.net Framework 4.5. Note The installation process might require a reboot if one of these components are missing. Exchange Integration Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010/2013 SQL Server Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2014 or SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. Web Browsers Desktop: Internet Explorer 8+, Chrome 20+, Safari 4+, or Firefox 12+ Mobile: ios Safari 4.0+ (4x, 5.x), Android Browser 4.0+ (4.x, 5.x), Chrome 18+ Note The mobile web browsers only apply to the Web Quarantine. 2

Fixed a bug where ModusAdmin would not be able to connect to the Sieve database under certain circumstances. Fixed a bug where certain viruses would be mark as corrupt/unscannable. Fixed a bug where SRS could block messages under certain circumstances when the server is not responding. Fixed a bug where if an uncompressed Zip file was greater than 10M Avira would mark it as corrupted/ unscannable. Fixed a bug where if an Avira AV update failed, Moduscan would not be able to restart automatically. Fixed a bug where it was not possible to view trusted senders in Web Admin when using Safari, Firefox or Chrome on Mac OS X 10. Improved the performance of loading users in Web Admin when Protection is configured with an extended DB configuration. Fixed a bug that would prevent a user from selecting a message under certain circumstances in Web Quarantine. Fixed a bug where the quarantine report link would not work properly on mobile devices. Fixed a bug where the loading icon in the Web Quarantine did not properly disable the options on the page. Improved the loading performance of s in the Web Admin s Quarantine view. Improved the usability of the dropdown action in Web Admin quarantine display. Fixed a bug where the scrollbar position would not reset after performing an action in the Web Admin quarantine display. Fixed a bug in Web Admin where error messages upon adding blocked/trusted senders could be missing information. Fixed a bug where the addition/deletion of users would not refresh the list properly in Web Admin. Fixed a bug where the sort action was not working properly in Web Quarantine. The default quarantine settings only reports the new quarantined items Added support for resolving DNS hostname when using POP3 authentication for a route. Fixed a bug where the installer would keep re-asking to install IIS components even if they were already installed. Improved performance of the search function in Web Admin. Fixed a bug where the Web Quarantine toolbar height was too high when using IE11 in touch mode. Fixed a bug for all browsers where the scrollbar was not available for reports in Web Monitor. Fixed a bug where the scrollbar would disappear under certain circumstances in Web Admin. 3

4 Release Notes for Norman Protection Version: 5.70 Known Issues Known Issues Description When searching by sender in the quarantine and s are blocked by senders. The search will not work. Workaround Suggestion is to search with another criterion. (ex: Subject, Recipient). This is planned to be fixed in the next version. 4
