1 SDN Contribution How to Copy Test Data Set from One Function Module to Another (Comes Handy While Renaming Functions) Applies to: SAP R/3 Release 4.6 onwards (might work for earlier versions as well, but I have not tried). Summary SAP does not provide a standard way of copying test data directory while renaming function modules as it does for copying programs. This creates problems when one has to rename a function module which has a number of test data set saved in the test data directory. It is painful to manually enter the test data again in the new function module especially the function module has a lot of importing, changing parameters and tables. 3 Procedure This code has no prerequisite in terms of dictionary structures and should give no syntax error when pasted in SE38 editor. It should be applied in the following way: Copy a function module (Don t Rename, as then the whole test data directory will be lost). Execute the program Z_FUNCTION_TESTDATA_TRANSFER (code sample given below) with the old and new function module names as input. Now delete the old function module (optional).
