Optionally, a basic level user account can also be created. Always secure your system and data by creating user accounts with a complex password. If VIGIL Server detects a user with an insecure password, they will be prompted to configure a secure password. 1

2 A secure password will be 8-16 characters long and must contain at least two of the following character types: Lowercase Letters Uppercase Letters Numbers Symbols 3 Adding Cameras to VIGIL Server 3.1 Adding IP Camera to VIGIL Server When adding a 3xLOGIC VISIX Camera, 3xLOGIC recommends using the VISIX IP Setup Utility to identify VISIX-brand cameras on your network and add them to the VIGIL Server camera list. Proceed to Section for instructions. For other IP cameras manufacturers, 3xLOGIC recommends using the ONVIF Device Manager. See Section for further instruction. If your camera is not VISIX brand or is not ONVIF-compliant, please refer to the Network Camera Settings section of the VIGIL Server user guide or contact 3xLOGIC Support for further instruction VISIX Cameras 3xLOGIC Camera Setup (VISIXIP) Setup Utility To add a VISIX-brand camera to VIGIL Server: 1. Login to VIGIL Server. 2. Open the Settings window by clicking the Settings icon in the menu toolbar. 3. Navigate to the tab (open by default when launching the Settings window). 4. Select an unused camera channel from the camera channel menu. 5. Enable Network Camera for the channel. The Network Camera settings form will deploy. 2

This will launch the 3xLOGIC Camera (VISIXIP) Setup Utility and automatically begin searching for 3xLOGIC VISIX IP cameras actively connected to the same network as the VIGIL Server. This utility is automatically installed alongside VIGIL Server; no additional installation is required. 8. Choose the camera you wish to add to VIGIL Server from the generated menu under the Select Online Devices area. 9. Click the Save to VIGIL button. Click OK at the bottom of the VIGIL Server Settings window to save the new network camera settings. Your VISIX Camera(s) will now be interfaced with VIGIL Server Other Cameras - ONVIF Device Manager When adding camera brands other than 3xLOGIC s VISIX, 3xLOGIC recommends configuring the camera via ONVIF. VIGIL Server includes the ODM ( ONVIF Device Manager) for detecting and adding ONVIF-compliant cameras to VIGIL Server. To save a camera to VIGIL Server using the ODM: 1. In VIGIL Server, navigate to Camera Setup tab under the Server Settings. 2. Select a non-configured (Red X) camera channel. 2 3

5 8. Select the stream profiles that you want to use in VIGIL, then click the OK button. 8 You should now see all the appropriate camera settings in the Network Camera Settings form. 9. Select OK to close the Network Camera Settings form. The camera will now be saved to VIGIL Server. 9 Note: Users can add additional cameras following the same steps outlined above. 10. Upon adding all desired cameras, click the Apply button in Camera Setup tab to save all settings. 3.2 Adding Analog Cameras to VIGIL Server (Capture Card Required) On systems with a properly configured capture card, no software-side setup process is required for the cameras. Ensure all the cameras have been properly installed and wired and that they have been connected to the VIGIL Server system s. Confirm systems capture card drivers have been installed. To confirm the drivers were correctly installed, check the Sound, video and game controllers category in the Windows Device Manager. The drivers are listed as Hikvision DS42xx Series in the below example: On a properly configured system, the installed cameras will automatically appear in the VIGIL Server live viewer when the software is launched. 5

6 Camera settings can be edited from the VIGIL Server Advanced Settings > Camera Setup Tab, as pictured below. 6

7 4 Viewing Live Cameras Pictured below is the Main Screen window that is displayed when VIGIL Server is launched. The program will automatically load at Windows start-up, log on, and open the Live Viewer window. These options can be changed in the settings, if desired. This window contains the live views of cameras currently configured within VIGIL Server. To add a camera to the VIGIL Server Live Viewer: 1.
