1 CIRRUS O7 OUTDOOR HD CLOUD CAMERA USER GUIDE With the Cirrus o7 Outdoor HD Cloud Camera, you ll have a surveillance view of a building perimeter in most any weather from a mobile device or computer screen. The camera connects via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and the live or recorded view is accessible to you anywhere in the world. The 720p motion-activated video can be recorded to the camera s internal memory (which stores 32 hours of HD video) and streamed to other devices including cloud storage. When the camera detects activity, it will send you real-time alerts. With built-in LED infrared lighting, the camera s night vision will illuminate subjects up to 65-feet away. The camera s mount enables 360-degree positioning. The camera s housing is waterproof and dustproof.

Once you ve located a compatible mounting site (such as a wall, column or shelf) where the camera will be near a power outlet and have Wi-Fi or Ethernet access, use a pencil to mark the spots for three holes that you may have to drill. Insert the anchors in the holes. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws until the camera base is flush and secure with the mounting surface. Later, you ll be able to adjust the camera s position by checking the view on your mobile device or computer. Loosen the ring between the camera and base so you can change the camera s perspective; then tighten it when you re happy with the view on the screen. Installation If you ve used other cameras in the Cirrus series such as the i6 or i8, the MIPC app may already be on your smartphone or tablet. If so, all you ll need to do is add the new camera from the app. If your mobile device doesn t contain the free MIPC app, you need to download it so it s ready to be launched once you power up the camera. If you plan to run the camera from an Android or ios device, go to Google Play or the Apple App Store to download the MIPC app. iphone and ipad users must have ios system 5.0 or above installed. 3 Connect the Camera If you plan to use a wired connection, attach the included Ethernet cable (or your own cable) to the LAN jack that splits from the main cable hardwired to the camera. If you plan to use a wireless (Wi-Fi) connection, remove the red cap and screw the included antenna into place. Attach the AC adapter to another leg of the cable and to a power outlet. The camera will turn on, and you ll see LEDs on the mouth of the LAN jack flicker. Load the MIPC app and register or log onto your account. From the app enter Device List. Click + at the left top of the screen and a QR Code scanning interface will appear. Alternatively, from a computer browser enter Scan the QR code at the bottom of the camera or enter the ID account manually. Choose the Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection. 4 Using the Camera from your App or Computer You ll see a still image of the view from the selected camera. Touching the play arrow superimposed on the screen on a mobile device or clicking the play arrow below the frame using a computer launches the live view. Spreading your fingers using the mobile app on a touchscreen enables you to digitally zoom for close-up viewing. Operational icons appear alongside the view that enable you to start video recording, take a snapshot (even while recording) or mute the sound. Other controls set the picture brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness. A mode control for how the picture is lit can be set to auto, day or night. The first setting automatically turns on the camera s infrared LEDs for capturingthe view, albeit in black in white, in the absence of ambient lighting. It s the default setting. The day view (in color) allows only the natural or exterior lighting to light up the view. The night view means that the infrared LEDs are kept on all the time. 5 The camera lens is encircled by 21 infrared LEDs that enable the night vision function. Though infrared light is invisible to the human eye, subjects up to 65-feet from the LEDs will be illuminated in black and white when viewed on a mobile device or computer screen. Browser or PC Client? There are two ways to access the camera from a Windows computer: using your browser or launching the client software (also called the plug-in version). Once you ve added the camera, both provide the same functionality, but the client software may provide better performance and less confusion. The first time you use a computer to access the camera, you ll need to point your browser to MIPCM. com. You can either sign in with your user name and password and be taken to the MIPCM site, which serves as a portal to your camera(s) or click the down arrow to download the PC client. In the latter case, you ll be prompted for your user name and password once you install and load the software. If you don t expect to use a particular computer to come back to the camera much in the future, using the browser is good enough. However, if you plan to regularly access the camera or cameras from a particular computer, you re likely to experience smoother performance via the dedicated software. Note: Macintosh users must use a browser to access the camera. Tip: When you re logged into mipcm.com using your browser to review content and you want to go back to a previous screen or menu, click on < Back below the play window, not the browser s Back arrow at the top of the screen. The browser s back button will exit the site. The client software has only one back control, so there s no confusion. It keeps you within the client program until you decide to click on Exit. Playback Videos and photos can be recorded to up to three locations simultaneously. Content is always saved to the camera s internal memory, but it also can be saved to the internal memory of the device from which you initiated the command as well as to an optional home cloud storage device. Videos and photos executed from the MIPC app (ios and Android) can be retrieved from the My Folder directory. With the Device List showing, touch the three-line icon on the upper-right corner of the screen, then the My Folder selection. Videos are organized by camera. 6 Settings There are slight variations between the PC client/browser versions, the ios app and the Android app. Generally, the following menu items will appear. About Lists the model number, software version and device ID. Nickname Allows you to rename the camera based on its location or the subject being watched. Nicknames are especially useful if you re managing more than one camera.you might, for example, label the o7 cam Backyard or Parking Lot. Device Admin Password Provides fields for inputting an old password, a new password and confirmation of the new password. Device Guest Password Provides fields for inputting an old password, a new password and confirmation ofthe new password. 7 Network Choose Ethernet or Wi-Fi settings. The active tab is on a dark-gray background, while the inactive tab is on a white background. OSD Customizes the onscreen display on how to show text, the date, time and day. The date can be shown in the following formats: MM-DDYYYY, YYYY-MM-DD or DD-MM- YYYY where MM represents the month, DD the day and YYYY the year. The time can be displayed according to a 12- or 24-hour clock. SD Card Lists the camera s total and available memory in gigabytes. It refers to free memory as valid. Since the so-called card is built in, it cannot be mounted or unmounted. You can format the camera s memory to erase all the data. Storage Device If you re connecting a cloud-box storage device on the same network as the camera, the box has a device ID and password (just like the camera) that should be entered here. If you re using the mobile app, you ll be prompted to point the phone s camera to scan the QR code on the bottom of the Cloud Box to enter the device ID. Then enter the password. 8 Motion and Notification You ll find multiple settings under this heading meant to auto trigger recordings and send you alerts based on someone or something moving in front of the camera. If Motion Detection is enabled, you ll see two sliders to set detection sensitivity: one for day; the other for night. Sliding the button to the right increases sensitivity up to a 100 percent response; sliding to the left decreases sensitivity down to zero response. If people normally are moving about during the day but no one is likely to be present at night, you may want to set the day and night sensitivities to low and high respectively. Generally, you should start out above the midpoint for an active sensitivity setting. If you find that you re getting too many false alerts, decrease the sensitivity. Make sure to apply (save) changes before leaving the Motion and Notification settings. A Set Successfully message should appear. With motion detection enabled, you can also choose from several alert types: Snapshots to take still pictures and Record to start video recording. Depending on how you ve adjusted your mobile device, the camera s motion alert appears as a text message accompanied by a three-note chime. Note: The I/O alarm and I/O output settings visible in the software are not relevant for the o7 camera since the model does not contain ports for attaching peripherals. 9 Schedule Alerting If enabled, you can schedule up to four time periods for alerts. Enter a begin and end time as well as day. For the latter, you can check off up to seven days. Schedule Recording If enabled, you can schedule up to four time periods for video recording. Enter a begin and end time as well as day. For the latter, you can check off up to seven days. Day/Time Sets the camera system s date and time. You can auto synch the settings to the date and time on your mobile device or computer. There also is a setting for your time zone. System From here you can do an online upgrade if an update is available, restore the camera to its factory settings or restart the device. Others The slider bars enable you to adjust the volume of the in-camera speaker and the sensitivity of the in-camera mic. You can also flip the picture if the camera is installed upside down. And you can change the power frequency: 60 Hz for North America; 50 Hz for many overseas countries. Always touch Apply upon changing a setting.
