2 Installation Note: This quick guide is for systems with single CP control systems only. Refer to Instruction Manual X923 for other system configurations. If you do not route power through the RJ45 Termination Box, connect the appropriate power supply to this connector: V400X-PS for 20 VAC V400X-PS-230 for 230 VAC. Connect to V400X-DJT Desk-Top Joystick or V400X-JST System Joystick. 4 NOVA V300 and V400 Series Control Systems This quick guide covers systems with one control system CP only. Refer to Instruction Manual X923 for systems with no control system or with multiple control systems. Press the Shift key to toggle between "Lens Speed" and "P/T Speed". Press the Shift key to toggle between "Lens Speed" and "P/T Speed". Autopan Autoiris Lens Speed STATS : NOVA 3XX Waiting for Nova Poll System Monitor Camera Autopan Autoiris Lens Speed STATS : NOVA 4XX connection P/T SPD = LOW System Monitor Camera Bypass AX: Sequence AX: Tour Fail Alarm Press the Shift key to toggle between "Bypass" and "Dwell". NOVA V300 Series Control System Screen To switch from any screen to the NOVA control screen: NOVA V400 Series Control System Screen To clear a keystroke entry or error message: Press and hold the Shift ( ) key. Then press F. The following procedures assume that you are starting at the NOVA control screen. To select a monitor: Enter the monitor number. Then press the Monitor key. Press the Clear button to erase a number from the keystroke entry area or to clear an entry error message. To select a camera: Enter the camera number. Press the Camera key. To recall a preset: Enter the preset number. Press the Preset (PRE) key to recall a preset pan-and-tilt position (and lens setting, if applicable). To store a preset: Note: Only managers can store a preset. 3 Pan-and-tilt to the desired position (and adjust the lens setting, if applicable). Then enter the preset number. 5 NOVA V300 and V400 Series Control Systems (continued) To change the lens speed: Lens Speed and P/T Speed share a To toggle between Lens Speed and P/T Speed, press the Shift ( ) key. Press the Lens Speed soft key to switch between the available lens speeds. For aux 2, hold the Shift ( ) key down and press F8. If aux 2 is a momentary device, hold the appropriate key down for the amount of time that the device must be active. To acknowledge communication failures: The control screen will display a flashing Fail soft key label and the status line will display a failure message for a communication failure. Press the Fail soft key to acknowledge the failure. To acknowledge alarms: For any active alarm, the control screen will display a flashing Alarm soft key label and the status line will display the alarm title. In general, you will press the Alarm soft key for each active alarm. Refer to the appropriate instruction manual for further information on alarm acknowledgement procedures. 6 NOVA V300 Series Control Systems Only The following procedures are for V300 Series control systems only. Press the Shift key to toggle between "Lens Speed" and "P/T Speed". Autopan Autoiris Lens Speed STATS : NOVA 3XX Waiting for Nova Poll System Monitor Camera Bypass AX: Sequence To add cameras to a sequence: Enter the number of the camera you wish to add to the sequence. Press the Sequence To define monitor dwell time: NOVA V300 Series Control System Screen 3 4 Select a monitor. Bypass and Dwell share a Press the Shift ( ) key if Bypass is displayed. Enter the dwell time in seconds ( - 60). Press the Dwell To bypass cameras in a sequence pattern: Bypass and Dwell share a To toggle between Bypass and Dwell, press the Shift ( ) key. 2 Enter the number of the camera you wish to bypass. 3 Press the Bypass To bypass all cameras in a sequence pattern: Bypass and Dwell share a To toggle between Bypass and Dwell, press the Shift ( ) key. 2 3 Enter Press the Bypass soft key to bypass all cameras. You must then define a new camera sequence. To add all cameras to a sequence: 3 4 Enter Press the Sequence soft key to enter all cameras into a sequence. You may customize the camera sequence by entering a camera number and then pressing the Bypass soft key. This deletes selected cameras from your sequence. 7 NOVA V400 Series Control Systems Only The following procedures are for V400 Series control systems only. Autopan Autoiris Lens Speed STATS : NOVA 4XX connection P/T SPD = LOW Press the Shift key to toggle between "Lens Speed" and "P/T Speed". System Monitor Camera AX: Tour Fail Alarm NOVA V400 Series Control System Screen To go to the home position: Press the Preset (PRE) key twice to call up preset position. To start a tour: 3 Enter the tour dial-up number. Press the Tour soft key to start the tour. Press the Tour soft key again to advance one step in the running tour. To stop a tour: Press the Clear key. OR Select a camera. To start a salvo: Enter the salvo dial-up number. Press the Camera key. To activate a quick-access tour: Note: A quick-access tour allows you to run a tour with one press of the Tour A regular tour requires that you enter the tour number each time. 3 Enter a 9 followed by the tour dial-up number. 8 AurorA and AurorA99 Digital Multiplexers To toggle between the "Mode" and "Format" soft key, press the Shift ( ) key. To toggle between the "NOVA" and "AurorA" soft key, press the Shift ( ) key. To toggle between the "Rcvr Mode" and "Setup" soft key, press the Shift ( ) key. To select a monitor: Press the Monitor key. F O R M A T Joystick Control NOVA S E T P M EN Enter for digital display or 2 for analog monitor. ARORA99 STATS Connected to nit. Monitor Camera Then press the Monitor key again. Freeze Restore AurorA Series Control System Screen To access the AurorA control screen: Press and hold the Shift ( ) key. Then press F3. All procedures assume that you are starting at the AurorA control screen. To select an AurorA from the System Console: If you are using one or more AurorA multiplexers in your CCTV system, the V800MI multi-output device will be part of your installation site and a nit soft key label will display on your System Console. Enter the number of the unit. To define joystick control: 3 user N IT E N TE R Press the Joystick Control soft key to toggle between mechanical and digital PTZ. Then press the nit Joystick control can be switched from standard mechanical PTZ control (NOVA) and digital control (AurorA). To select full screen display: Enter the camera number. To enter a number greater than 9, hold the Shift ( ) key down and press a number key to add 0 to that number. For example, to enter 3, hold Shift down and press the 3 key. Then press the Camera key. To use passcodes: If you have AurorA99/AurorA passcodes enabled, press the System Console's Format soft key and enter the passcode on the System Console. Note that this is the multiplexer passcode and does not refer to the System Console passcode. To select multipicture display: 3 Enter and press the Monitor key to select the multipicture display monitor. 9 AurorA and AurorA99 Digital Multiplexers (continued) To freeze video in full screen display: Press the Freeze To restore video in full screen display, press the Restore To record video (encoding): Note: This section is only relevant for simplex models; duplex models record continuously. 3 Press the Mode The Mode key and the Format key share a label. Press the Shift ( ) key to toggle to the Mode label if necessary. The Mode Select menu will display on the multipicture display monitor. se the joystick or press the 3 key to select Encode <VCR Rec>. Press the Enter 4 Press and hold the Shift ( ) key and then press the F4 key. The VCR Control screen will display on the System Console. 5 Enter the unit number for the VCR connected to the AurorA99/AurorA on which you initiated recording (applicable only for multi- VCR systems) and press the nit Press the Record soft key on the VCR Control screen. Press and hold the Shift ( ) key and then press F3 to return to the AurorA screen. Press the Monitor key to exit the AurorA99/AurorA menus. To play back video (decoding): 3 Press the Mode The Mode key and the Format key share a label. Press the Shift ( ) key to toggle to the Mode label if necessary. The Mode Select menu will display on the multipicture display monitor. se the joystick or press the 2 key to select Decode <VCR Play>. 4 5 Press the Enter Press and hold the Shift ( ) key and then press the F4 key. The VCR Control screen will display on the System Console Enter the unit number for the VCR from which you want to play video. Rewind the tape if necessary and press the Play soft key on the VCR Control screen. Press and hold the Shift ( ) key and then press F3 to return to the AurorA screen. 10 AurorA and AurorA99 Digital Multiplexers (continued) To activate the electronic pan, tilt, and zoom function: 3 4 Enter the camera number. Press the Camera key to select a camera in full screen format. Press the Camera key again to activate EPTZ. Press the Enter soft key to deactivate EPTZ. To access the AurorA99 or AurorA programming menus: 3 4 Select the multipicture display monitor. Then press the Menu Note that the Setup and Receiver Mode functions share a soft key. To switch between them, press the Shift ( ) key. After you exit the AurorA99 or AurorA menu system, you must press the Monitor key to exit the menu. To enter receiver mode: Note: For AurorA99 versions only. If the Setup label is visible, press the Shift ( ) key to display Rcvr Mode. 11 VCRs Press this soft key to increment or decrement the record/play mode. MODE + VCR STATS REC/PLAY Connected MODE to nit. To access the VCR control screen: Press and hold the Shift ( ) key. Then press F4. RECORD STOP REW To change the record/play mode: To increment or decrement the record/play mode, press the Mode + or Mode soft keys. To stop a tape: Press the Stop FF FRAME SHIFT VCR Control Screen Look at your VCR s display screen to determine which mode is currently selected. PLAY PASE N IT All procedures assume that you are starting from the VCR control screen. To select a VCR from the System Console: Note: This procedure is only used when more than one VCR is connected to the System Console. Enter the number of the unit. To record video: Press the System Console s Record To rewind a tape: Press the Rewind Then press the nit To fast forward a tape: Press the FF soft key to fast forward the tape. To view a tape frame-by-frame: Note: The tape must first be paused before using the frame shift function. Press the or + soft keys to move back or forward through the tape, frame by frame. 12 Frequently Asked Questions What is the default user ID and how do I enter it? Select "0" and then press the soft key that points to the entry. What does the Waiting for NOVA Poll message mean? The CP has not yet found this keypad. This process can take up to 3 minutes. Refer to the installation manual for proper wiring and programming. How do I access the Main Setup menu? Press and hold the Shift ( ) key and then press the F5 key to display the Main Setup screen. How do I select a camera to a monitor? Enter the desired monitor number and then press the MON key. Then enter the desired camera number and press the CAM key. How do I store a PTZ preset? Enter a preset number. Press and hold the Shift ( ) key and then press the PRE key. Note: Preset 94 is used to enter the Surveyor99 programming menu. How do I recall a PTZ preset? Enter the desired preset number and then press the PRE key. How do I select different control screens? For NOVA control screens, press and hold the Shift ( ) key down and then press F. For the AurorA control screen, press and hold the Shift ( ) key down and then press F3. To select the VCR control screen, press and hold the Shift ( ) key down and then press F4. All wires are connected correctly but I have no control of my VCR(s) and Aurora(s). What should I do? Make sure to select the appropriate unit number and press the nit How do I select a camera from 0-6 in full screen mode when controlling an AurorA? Hold down the Shift ( ) key and select the second digit of the desired camera number from 0-6. For example, to enter "3", hold Shift down and press the 3 key. How can I retrieve a lost password?
