LIR IR Camera Player is a PC-based remote control and viewer that you can use with the following cameras from LIR Systems: LIR A/SC3xx series LIR A615/SC6X5 LIR Ax5 series LIR AX8 LIR bxx series LIR Bxxx series LIR Exx series LIR G300a LIR G3xx series LIR ixx series LIR P/B/SC6xx LIR T6xx series. You can perform one or more of the following with LIR IR Camera Player: Record a video stream from the camera. Save a frame from the video stream as a snapshot image (*.bmp). Autofocus, focus far, and focus near. Autoadjust the camera image. reeze the camera image. Save a camera image in the camera.

2 4 Connecting a camera You connect a camera in one of the following ways: Ethernet irewire USB. 5 Selecting a camera You select a camera in one of the following ways: By selecting the camera on the Device menu. By specifying the IP address of the camera in the Add Device dialog box on the ile menu. Usually, all cameras on the network will be displayed on the Device menu. 4 Toggle A/M Trigger button Archive button Specifying the file location for saved files To specify where files should be saved on your computer, follow this procedure: 1. On the Options menu, click Settings. 2. Specify a location on your computer or network where you want to save snapshot files and video files. 8 Adding an image description to an image An image description is a brief textual description that is stored in an infrared image file. The image description is stored in a non-proprietary tag and can therefore be read by third-party software. ollow this procedure to add an image description to an image: 1. On the Options menu, click Image description. 2. In the Image description dialog box, type your chosen text. 3. Click OK. or more information about image descriptions, refer to the camera user s manuals. 9 Adding a text comment A text comment is a brief textual description based on label/value pairs that is stored in an infrared image file. The text comment is stored in a proprietary tag and can therefore not be read by third-party software. ollow this procedure to add a text comment to an image: 1. On the Options menu, click Text comment. 2. In the Text comment dialog box, type your chosen labels and values. 3. Click OK. or more information about text comments, refer to the camera user s manuals. 10 Setting unicast/multicast mode A normal connection uses unicast mode. However, scenarios may exist where it is more beneficial to use multicast mode. In this mode, the PC and the camera belong to the same IP group address, and all users monitoring this address will receive the video stream. Note: If you intend to set multicast mode, you must do so before selecting a device. ollow this procedure to change from unicast to multicast mode: 1. On the Options menu, click Settings. 2. In the Settings dialog, select Use multicast.

5 11 Setting preferred media type Some cameras support several media types. LIR Media Player can be set to use a preferred media type when started.. Available media types are Video (normal colorized video) or Signal (16-bit raw infrared signal). The selection None means that the player will select the first available media type. ollow this procedure to set the media type: 1. On the Options menu, click Settings. 2.
