7 Supported Products and Platforms 2 Supported Products and Platforms This version is applicable to the following products: Product Name CM-6308-P1-I United VMS 7.0 LU 5783 and higher United VMS 8.0 LU 6105 and higher DNA or higher Description Quasar Gen III CM-6308-P1-I is an indoor/outdoor 4x2K Convertible 180º/360º panoramic mini-dome IP camera. It includes audio-in, audioout, alarm-in, and alarm-out connections, and a microsd drive. Latitude/Horizon/Meridian update and above. Latitude/Horizon/Meridian update and above. Utility required for initial discovery of the camera on networks without a DHCP server. Download latest version of DNA from here. Download the DNA User Manual from here. Note: 1. To discover the CM-6308 camera in Latitude/Horizon/Meridian, select the FLIR option for the Unit Type in the Admin Center discovery. 2. The camera s web UI is supported on Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 and above (32-bit version); Microsoft Edge 38 and above; Chrome v.55 and above; Firefox v.50 and above. 9 Key Features 3 Key Features The CM-6308 is an indoor/outdoor 4x2K Convertible 180º/360º panoramic mini-dome IP camera. The camera is designed for operation in spaces that require video coverage of a wide area of interest. 3.1 Triple-Streaming IP Video The CM-6308 camera supports up to three streams simultaneously with H.265, H.264 or MJPEG compression. 3.2 Audio-In/Out, Alarm-In/Out, and SD Card Drive The camera includes one audio-in, one audio-out, four alarm-in, and two alarm-out connections. The SD card drive supports a microsdxc card up to 128GB (card not included), enabling storage of recordings and snapshots. 3.3 Superior Low-Light Performance The cameras include Shutter WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) mode, True Day/Night IR Cut filter, and an infrared LED illuminator that delivers superior sensitivity in low-light scenes. 3.4 Supports IE, Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Firefox Browsers The camera supports a wide range of browsers: Internet Explorer 10 and 11; Microsoft Edge v.38 and above; Chrome v.55 and above; and Firefox v.50 and above. 3.5 Support for Microsoft Visual C Redistributable Package The Ariel Web Player requires Internet Explorer users to have the Microsoft Visual C Redistributable package installed on their workstation before installing the Ariel Player add-on. If the package is not installed on your workstation, then after logging onto the camera, click the download link on the initial screen in the camera s web interface. Generate the self-signed certificate on the camera s web UI. The camera is set to CBR by default. 13 Firmware Upgrade Procedure 5 Firmware Upgrade Procedure Note: Due to changes related to stitching and video processing, upgrading the FPGA firmware to the GA firmware is not supported. Please contact FLIR Support. The camera s firmware can be updated by using the Discovery Network Assistant (DNA) tool or over the web from the unit s web interface. It is recommended to use DNA firmware version or higher to upgrade from a previous firmware version. 5.1 Upgrading with DNA To perform the firmware upgrade 1. If the camera is connected to United VMS, stop the Latitude services. 2. Run DNA and perform the firmware upgrade according to instructions in the DNA User Manual. Download the manual from here. 3. If the camera was connected to United VMS, restart the Latitude services. Note: The Camera s FPGA firmware cannot be upgraded by DNA. 5.2 Upgrading from the Camera s Web Interface To perform the firmware upgrade 1. From the Settings tab, select System > Basic Configuration > Firmware. 2. Click Browse to locate the firmware file. 3. Select the file. The file name is displayed. For the system firmware, for example, CM-6308-P1-4. I_ bin. For the FPGA firmware, for example flirpano_a7_1b151630_cs.bit. 5. Upload each firmware file separately. Click Upgrade. The upgrade process takes about three minutes. 6. After the firmware has upgraded successfully, the camera reboots. January 28, 2018 Quasar Gen III FW v Release Notes 9

15 United VMS Compatibility 6 United VMS Compatibility The firmware was approved for United VMS and United VMS or higher support. It is necessary to install an Update Patch for the unit to operate with United VMS 7.0 and United VMS United VMS 7.0 and United VMS 8.0 Update Patch To install the Update Patch Download the Update Patch for your VMS (United VMS or United VMS ). Run the file on every server and workstation in the system. Upgrade the Directory/EDB. Upgrade each Archiver. After all the servers are upgraded, upgrade the workstations using the method below. In the United VMS client application, from the Help tab, select the Check for Updates option. A popup opens, indicating that there is an update to download from the Update server. Select Yes to download the update file. A popup appears on the screen. Click Install. The installation may take several minutes. January 28, 2018 Quasar Gen III FW v Release Notes 11

17 Appendix Appendix A.1. Discovering and Configuring the Camera with DNA For the initial discovery of the camera on networks without a DHCP server, DNA or higher is required. DNA is also used to access the camera and to change its IP address. DNA can be downloaded from here on the FLIR website.
