7 Supported Products and Platforms 2 Supported Products and Platforms This version is applicable to the following products: Product Name CF-6308 Description Quasar Gen III CF-6308 camera is an indoor/outdoor UHD/4K fixed box IP camera. It includes audio-in, audio-out, alarm-in, and alarm-out connections. The camera is shipped without a lens. United VMS 7.0 LU 5779 and higher Latitude/Horizon/Meridian update and above. DNA or higher Utility required for initial discovery of the camera on networks without a DHCP server. Download latest version of DNA from here. Download the DNA User Manual from here. Note: 1. To discover the Quasar Gen III CF-6308 camera in Latitude/Horizon/Meridian, select the FLIR option for the Unit Type in the Admin Center discovery. 2. 9 Key Features 3 Key Features The CF-6308 is an indoor/outdoor fixed IP box camera that features a 1/2.5 progressive scan CMOS sensor with 3840x2160 resolution. The camera body includes a CS-mount for a P-Iris, DC-Iris lens, or manual iris lens (not supplied). The camera is powered by an 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection or an optional 12VDC or 24VAC power supply. The camera includes the following key features: 3.1 Triple-Streaming IP Video The CF-6308 camera supports three IP streams: UHD/4K (3840x2160 pixels) + HD 720p + HD 25/30fps with H.265, H.264, or MJPEG video compression, depending on the stream. 3.2 Audio-In/Out, Alarm-In/Out, and SD Card Drive The camera includes one audio-in, one audio-out, one alarm-in, and one alarm-out connection. Audio exceeding a predefined threshold will create an audio event. Alarms can be triggered by audio events, motion detection, defocus, and camera tampering. Notifications can be sent by upon the occurrence of an event, which can trigger a recording or taking a snapshot. Snapshots can be sent to a remote FTP server. The SD card drive supports a microsdxc card up to 32GB (card not included), enabling storage of recordings and snapshots. 3.3 Supports IE, Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Firefox Browsers The camera supports a wide range of browsers: Internet Explorer 10 and 11; Microsoft Edge v.38 and above; Chrome v.55 and above; and Firefox v.50 and above. 3.4 Support for Microsoft Visual C Redistributable Package The Ariel Web Player requires Internet Explorer users to have the Microsoft Visual C Redistributable package installed on their workstation before installing the Ariel Player add-on. If the package is not installed on your workstation, now it is possible to download the required files from the camera. Just click the download link on the initial screen in the camera s web interface after logging onto the camera. After downloading the package, click the link to download the Ariel Player add-on. 11 Limitations and Known Issues 4 Limitations and Known Issues BUG ID SUMMARY COMMENTS The self-signed certificate is not properly recognized by the browser. The Ariel Player installation fails in some cases. Ariel Gen II - Latitude - The microphone becomes temporarily inaccessible a few minutes after the camera is attached to Latitude. Before making changes to the video stream, the user must click Save when checking "Record the same as live" first before making changes on the video stream. Otherwise the wrong settings will be applied when switching from separate to merged streams. IE11 may crash occasionally while navigating the camera s web UI. Video can be noisy when the camera is set on 4K, Shutter WDR For Chrome: 1. Access the camera s web UI on HTTPS. 2. Under Advanced, click Continue anyway. For Firefox: 1. Access the camera s web UI on HTTPS on port 9000 ( address>:9000 ). 2. Click Advanced. 3. Click Add exception. 4. Uncheck the Permanently store this exception checkbox. 5. Click Confirm Security Exception. 6. Connect to the camera s web UI on HTTPS without port 9000 ( address> ). 7. Login normally. For Internet Explorer: 1. Access the camera s web UI on HTTPS. 2. Click Continue to this site. Enter the user s credentials. See section 8, Configuring Communication Settings in the User and Installation Guide. 13 Firmware Upgrade Procedure 5 Firmware Upgrade Procedure The camera s firmware can be updated by using the Discovery Network Assistant (DNA) tool or over the web from the unit s web interface. It is recommended to use DNA firmware version or higher to upgrade from a previous firmware version. 5.1 Upgrading with DNA How to perform the firmware upgrade 1. If the camera is connected to Latitude VMS, you must stop the Latitude services. 2. Run DNA and perform the firmware upgrade according to instructions in the DNA User Manual. Download the manual from here. 3. If the camera was connected to the Latitude VMS, restart the Latitude services. 5.2 Upgrading from the Camera s Web Interface How to perform the firmware upgrade 1. From the Setup tab in the unit s web interface, select System > Basic Configuration > Firmware. 2. Click Browse to locate the firmware file. 3. Select the file. The file name is displayed (for example, ArielFHD_ ). 4. Click Upgrade. The upgrade process takes about three minutes. After the firmware has upgraded successfully, the camera reboots. 15 Latitude Compatibility 6 Latitude Compatibility The firmware was approved for Latitude or higher support. It is necessary to install an Update Patch in order the unit to operate with Latitude VMS Latitude Upgrade Procedure If you do not have Latitude VMS 6.4 or Latitude VMS 7.0: If you have Latitude 6.2, first upgrade to Latitude 6.3. If you have Latitude 6.3, upgrade to Latitude VMS Install Latitude VMS 6.4 on all client and server machines. 2. Install the Update Patch or higher version on all servers. If you have Latitude VMS 6.4, you can upgrade directly to Latitude VMS Latitude 7.0 Update Patch To install the Latitude 7.0 Update Patch Download the Update Patch. Run the file on every server and workstation in the system. Upgrade the Directory/EDB. Upgrade each Archiver. After all the servers are upgraded, upgrade the workstations using the method below. In the Latitude client application, from the Help tab, select the Check for Updates option. A popup opens, indicating that there is an update to download from the Update server. Select Yes to download the update file. A popup appears on the screen. Click Install. The installation may take several minutes. January 28, 2018 Quasar Gen III FW v Release Notes 11

17 Appendix Appendix A.1. Discovering and Configuring the Camera with DNA DNA or higher is required for the initial discovery of the camera on networks without a DHCP server. DNA is also used to access the camera and to change its IP address. DNA can be downloaded from here on the FLIR website.
