4 Large Range of Use, Minimal Investment O-INSPECT measuring machines unite optical and contact measuring technology in a single system, thus covering a large range of parts and comprehensive analysis options. Instead of various special devices, O-INSPECT is all you need. O-INSPECT 322 O-INSPECT 442 O-INSPECT is available in the 322 and 442 configurations. The optical and contact sensors on both models are state of the art. What makes them so special in these classes: true 3D measurements are possible when the VAST XXT scanning sensor is installed. Shop floor measurement O-INSPECT measuring machines are designed for use on the shop floor. They deliver reliable measuring results over a broad temperature range. 8 Discovery telecentric zoom lens Measure the finest structures quickly and without contact the Discovery zoom lens from ZEISS Microscopy makes it possible. Even test objects with different material thicknesses can be measured optically with extreme precision. Fixed zoom levels guarantee reproducible results. Furthermore, Discovery delivers outstanding light intensity. Discovery lens with illumination system Small ring light Coaxial laser pointer Large ring light Coaxial light Discovery lens Telecentricity Standard camera lenses work based on the central perspective principle: the farther away an object is, the smaller it is projected on the sensor plane. A telecentric lens, on the other hand, does not change the reproduction scale when the object is moved axially. This enables the capture of the dimensional accuracy regardless of the distance to the object. 8

9 Adaptive Illumination The adaptive illumination system on O-INSPECT enables you to obtain better optical measuring results. The two LED colors and the different illumination angles enable optimal adjustment to the feature. Breaches and exterior edges can be ideally captured with transmitted light. Large ring light for lateral illumination The large ring light provides complete lateral illumination. This enables the identification of the contrasts of 3D characteristics, in particular. The intensity of the eight red and eight blue power LEDs on the ring light can be regulated and automatically turned on and off during a CNC run. The possibility of selecting a color is primarily beneficial with colored workpieces. Transmitted light Transmitted light offers the highest contrast. It is used to measure openings or exterior edges, e.g. to check simple punched parts or to inspect fine structures on transparent parts. Coaxial laser pointer The laser pointer in the center of the lens simplifies navigation during the programming process. Mini ring light for a steeper illumination angle The mini ring light consists of four blue and four red LEDs. The central positioning improves the recognition of deep-laying characteristics. Illumination via red LED ring light Coaxial light in the lens The coaxial light shines on the workpiece at a right angle. With deep boreholes, in particular, this is a vital illumination source for the inspection of size, form and position tolerances. Illumination via red or blue coaxial light 9

10 Optional White Light Distance Sensor An optional white light distance sensor is available for O-INSPECT 442. It can be used to measure 3D structures optically and efficiently. Obtaining depth information is based on the chromatic confocal principle. 11 VAST XXT Scanning Sensor for True 3D Measurements With the VAST XXT probe, O-INSPECT is equipped with a flexible, fast and highly precise contact sensor. Thanks to scanning technology, it is not only possible to measure with single points, but also to make precise statements on the form a unique feature in this class. O-INSPECT allows scans with probing forces in the millinewton range in areas where other multisensor measuring machines only permit single-point measurements with relatively high probing forces. This enables true 3D measurements. Quickly and precisely. Free stylus selection VAST XXT accommodates mm styli, thus also enabling the convenient measurement of deep boreholes. Star styli with styli in three spatial directions and 40 mm projection ensure maximum flexibility: measurements of even complex workpiece geometries can be made without changing the stylus. With a star stylus, a stylus change-out is not required Faster stylus change-out O-INSPECT allows operators to switch between optical and contact measurement during a measuring run. The stylus is also automatically detected when a manual change-out occurs. Time-consuming recalibration is therefore not required. Its flexibility and simplicity puts it squarely in the center of all of industrial measuring technology. Together with CALYPSO, O-INSPECT opens up entirely new dimensions of visualization. You see the actual status, nominal display and deviations simultaneously, making it particularly easy to properly allocate and interpret the measuring results. One software for all tasks O-INSPECT does not skimp with software either. With CALYPSO, you have access to the same program used to operate our other coordinate measuring machines. 13 Loading system Thanks to the loading system for O-INSPECT, workpieces can be clamped away from the machine and prepared for the measurement. This prevents you from unnecessarily blocking the machine. O-INSPECT 322 O-INSPECT 442 Support frame The support frame is the ideal mount for the glass pallet and the hole grid pallet. It is placed loosely on the three bearing elements. It can be adjusted in the XZ and YZ directions via two adjusting screws. Glass pallet The glass pallet is used for optical measurements made with reflected and transmitted light methods. In particular, it simplifies the measurement of freeform parts which are simply fixed with the glass pallet. Hole grid pallet The hole grid pallet supports all contact measuring methods and optical measurements using the reflected light method. The hole grid is designed for the use of the CARFIT CMK fixture kit. 13

14 Accessories Rotary table for O-INSPECT 442 The optional rotary table givves O-INSPECT a programmable rotary axis, thus enabling the optical inspection of characteristics from all sides. Rail clamping system Correct positioning and secure clamping of workpieces are vital to the exact measurement of workpieces. Our rail clamping system allows you to quickly and easily set up positioning or clamping equipment for workpieces during optical measurements. Calibration pallet for O-INSPECT 322 The RSH for O-INSPECT, a glass artifact and an adjusting ring can be mounted to the calibration pallet. The entire pallet is then place on the machine table for calibration, thus reducing the setup time. Multisensor check The multisensor check is a procedure for the standard-compliant monitoring of coordinate measuring machines with contact and optical sensors. The universal, calibrated test piece comes with the associated control and evaluation software. 14
