3 2 ipad set-up The following steps must be performed before installing the ipad in the protective case. A Activate the AssistiveTouch feature The AssistiveTouch feature allows to emulate the ipad Home button which is not accessible when in the protective case. Accessibility AssistiveTouch B Activate the Bluetooth The connection between the motor handpiece and the application is done via Bluetooth. Bluetooth C Activate the Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is necessary to download the application from the App Store. Wi-Fi Select your Wi-Fi network and enter your password to connect the ipad. 4 3 Hardware installation A According to your ipad MiniTM model, use the suitable kit. Accessories for ipad MiniTM 1, 2 or 3 Accessories ries for ipad MiniTM 1, 2 or 3 C B Accessories for ipad MiniTM 4 Stick the foams of your kit at the places indicated on the protective case. Accessoriess for ipad MiniTM 4 Enclose and center the ipad MiniTM in the protective case. Place the corresponding rubber plugs on the camera and the charging port. Separate the motor handpiece cover from the motor handpiece support. D For ipad MiniTM 4 For ipad MiniTM 1, 2 or 3 E Install the motor handpiece case as protective case holder*. F G Only for first use, please fully charge the motor handpiece (~ 6 hours) to optimize battery life. * The ipad protective case and the motor handpiece cover produce static magnetic fields.

5 4 A Now that your motor handpiece is fully charged: Open the application. B Awaken the motor handpiece by pressing on the multifunction button once. Press the button again to activate the Bluetooth and confirm that the Bluetooth blue LED is blinking. C Wait a few seconds until the application detects the motor handpiece. D Check the motor handpiece serial number and click on the corresponding number on the ipad screen. AAAAA AAAAA E When the motor handpiece is connected, the icon changes and the Bluetooth blue LED switches from blinking to solid. F Only for the first use, select your stand-alone mode. See section 6 Motor handpiece operation for more information.

6 5 Using the App Access to user profiles and logout Home Consult and edit treatment reports Bluetooth connection between the ipad and the motor handpiece (signal power) Connect the motor handpiece to the App Motor handpiece battery level Start Treatment Adjust torque and speed parameters Select your file sequence (or file system) Enable or disable the auto-reverse function View the torque that was applied to the file Motor handpiece calibration

Select your file sequence (or file system) View the torque that was applied to the file E Stop recording the treatment and send a PDF report by

8 6 Motor handpiece operation Reciprocating motion mode LED status. Motor START/STOP button. Continuous rotation mode LED status. ipad / motor handpiece Bluetooth connection LED status. Multifunction button The multifunction button provides the following functions: Battery charge LED status. Stand-alone Mode Connects the motor handpiece to the application via Bluetooth. Awakens the motor handpiece (the motor handpiece does not turn off, it automatically switches to stand-by mode). Advance to the next file during a treatment. Double press to move to the previous file. The stand-alone mode allows you to work without the ipad if needed. After the first connection, if you turn on the motor handpiece without connecting it to the ipad, it will run with the stand-alone mode settings. How to set the stand-alone mode A From the application click on this icon AAAAA B Select between Continuous or Reciprocating stand-alone modes. 9 7 After use Store and charge the motor handpiece A B Full recharge: 6 hours Autonomy: 16 treatments The motor handpiece must be fully charged the first time you charge it. Green on: Charged. Green blinking: Device charging. Red on: Red blinking: Low battery. Critical low battery. C Remove the ipad from the protective case

10 8 Disinfection and cleaning Foreword Please follow the User Manual for complete disinfection, sterilization and cleaning procedures. Motor handpiece Only use the motor handpiece with a single-use protective sleeve (reference A X-SMART iq Handpiece Sleeves). ipad Protective Case General Recommendations Do not use chloride detergent materials. Do not use bleach or chloride disinfectant materials. Use only a disinfecting solution which is approved for its efficacy (VAH/DGHM-listing, CE marking, FDA and Health Canada approval) and in accordance with the User Manual of the disinfecting solution manufacturer.

11 9 Tips & Tricks Multifunction button Press the multifunction button to switch to the next file. Double press to move to the previous file. To reset the motor handpiece, press the multifunction button for 10 s. Close an application Pinch 5 fingers together to close an application and return to the home screen or use the virtual home button.
