Now days, most of the smartphones users are using smart applications in the world. The backbone for this uprising is the operating system on which these applications run. There are various mobile operating systems available. Apple's ios and Google's Android are operating systems, which are used predominantly in this mobile realm. This paper discusses and compares Apple ios and Android mobile OS, advantages, on the basis of their platform and performance in the mobile technology. Today's smart mobile phone devices are multi-functional devices capable of holding an inclusive variety of applications for both business and user with internet connectivity. 4 [5] APPLE APP STORE VS GOOGLE PLAY: THE NEXT SKIRMISH IN THE APP BATTLES In the 21 st century of smartphone Apps, the mobile phone industry is dominated by two powerful app stores known as Apple's App Store and the Google Play. Smartphone users have also other options, but brand loyalty and user-friendliness keeps smartphone proprietors coming back to these two platforms. These two apps store is going for: more and more apps, less malware and of course making more money. Apple pp Store provides users with sureness that the apps they download have been tested and validated by Apple. ios user can easily browse apps by category, such as games, productivity, office tools and many more for iphone, ipad, ipod touch and Mac OS X personal computers. As compared to the other Operating Systems in competition like Microsoft Windows, Symbian, Blackberry etc., Android and ios have captured the maximum market share. Globally, as per the statistics provided by the NetMarket Share [Figure 1], in the year 2014 Google Android continues to dominate the market with 45.86% of the global market share followed by Apple ios with 43.15% share. Apple ios and Google Android have their own pluses and minuses. Both are equally strong competitors and are confident to rule the app market with their own strengths and positives. From Apple and Android, it is very hard to envisage that which is ahead in mobile souk, both of them providing more and more advancement in our smartphones with greater productivity. Apple iphones dominates the market by targeting the high end users whereas Google Android leads among the common people targeting the low-income users.
