8 Why Satellite Reach A single satellite can cover 1/3 of the earth. In addition, a satellite has multiple beams of coverage, each can be of same or different band/frequencies. With this flexibility, hot zones/areas can be served with multiple beams to delivery higher throughput. Some beams can be steerable to increase coverage over hotspots when needed.
