Visit On 1st July 2010, the European parliament is introduced new legislation for data charges abroad. This will impact all European mobile companies including O2. Under the new legislation, customers must not be charged more than 40 Euros excluding VAT ( ex VAT/ 40 inc VAT) for roamed data without being told in advance of the charges and agreeing to them. This applies to all handheld tariff - iphone, BIS/BES etc New customers from the 1st July will automatically receive the default tariff. Existing O2 customers with no data roaming Bolt On will automatically migrate to default tariff. End users can choose the heavy user tariff and they can also opt out of default tariffs and remain on pay per MB. Existing O2 customers with data abroad Bolt Ons remain unchanged unless customer requests new tariffs. O2 will text all customers when they arrive overseas to inform them of the charges and to advise them about their usage. EUROPE REST OF THE WORLD = 3.00 PER MB = 6.00 PER MB Only compatible with the heavy user tariff to allow continued use for very high users its equivalent to per day, for a daily allowance of 50MB. 15 BUSINESS FLEXIBILITY - O2 RETENTION TOOLS TEMPORARY SUSPENSION Customers reducing their workforce may not want the additional worry of losing key contact numbers if they also cancel their mobiles. That s why O2 have provided Temporary Suspension. WHAT IS IT? The service allows customers to suspend some of their mobiles for a limited period. Suspended mobiles won t be able to make outbound calls but will continue to receive inbound calls. This means that customers can remain contactable, at a time when securing new business and retaining existing customers is more important than ever. The customer won t have to pay a monthly subscription for any suspended mobiles and there won t be any call charges. That means reduced cost for their business. And when circumstances improve, it s easy for them to reactivate the mobiles and add them back onto their account. You can offer the service for three, six or twelve months. The maximum total suspension period is fifteen months. WHO IS IT FOR? Existing customers who are downsizing, but want to keep their numbers. The customer must be more than six months into their current contract and have six or more handsets on their account. You can also use with prospects and at the point of re-sign to reassure them that we can be flexible if they face financial problems later. How much does it cost? Free for the first three months 10 one off for an additional six months 20 one off for an additional 12 months There are no reactivation costs. Once a mobile is reactivated, standard monthly subs apply. ANYTHING ELSE? SIM ONLY TARIFFS The simple way for customers to cut costs. These are tariffs with no new mobile, just a SIM. You can use these tariffs to reassure prospects and customers that O2 can be flexible and help them control costs in the future if their circumstances change. Where necessary you can discuss SIM only at acquisition to help close deals (i.e. 'this is something we can offer you in the future'), but it can only be used at the point of re-sign. They are available on 24 and 36 month contracts (36 months applicable to legacy tariffs only) and are up to 15 less than the standard tariffs. Adding additional users costs almost 50% less too. These tariffs offer exactly the same minutes, texts and benefits as the standard tariffs and are available to customers who are out of contract or within 30 days of their contract end date. And remember, as the customer doesn t get a new mobile, you won t need to supply/ and or subsidise any hardware. Available at point of re-sign only (must be out of commitment) For full SIM only tariff information please see pages O2 CONVERT For some businesses, cutting costs means reducing their workforce which in turn means they may want to cancel some of the mobiles on their account. If this happens mid-contract, they will usually have to pay termination fees. To help customers in this situation, O2 have developed O2 Convert. WHAT IS IT? O2 Convert allows customers to avoid termination fees by letting their employees take their mobile numbers with them when they leave. These mobile numbers are migrated to consumer Pay Monthly contracts and moving forward ex-employees pick up their own bills. This saves the customer money and enables them to help people impacted by downsizing. WHO IS IT FOR? Existing customers who are downsizing or those who want to reduce the number of business mobiles they provide to their staff. The customer must be more than six months into their current contract and have six or more handsets on their account. You can also use with prospects and at the point of re-sign to reassure them that we can be flexible if they face financial problems later. ANYTHING ELSE? Users can choose any consumer Pay Monthly tariff. If the handset is a primary user/parent this status needs to be moved to another user. Not available if the customer is in arrears. Until the transfer is complete, the customer is still responsible for any account charges relating to the handset being moved. There are limits to how many handsets a customer can have on O2 Convert refer to the Sales Website for full details before offering this to customers. IMPORTANT it will not count as a disconnection. There are limits to how many handsets a customer can have on Temporary Suspension - refer to The Sales Website for full details before offering this to customers. Not available if the customer is in arrears. Customers who leave O2 while in suspension will have terminations fees applied at full rate. Customers contract end date will be extended by the suspension period for the suspended mobiles only. If the handset is a primary user/parent this status needs to be moved to another user. Rollover minutes accrued will be lost. Voic will be deactivated for suspended mobiles and it will not be possible to divert calls to other numbers. IMPORTANT: it will not count as a disconnection. 15

The spend limit stipulated by the European Union legislation is 40 Euros which equates to 43. All Vodafone customers have a monthly data roaming spend cap of 34 (excluding VAT), to help prevent overspending while abroad. Vodafone will send you free text alerts when you are 80% and 100% through your monthly spend cap. Once you reach the cap limit an automatic data roaming bar will be applied, and you will not be able to use any more data abroad for the remainder of your monthly billing cycle. The cap applies to data roaming in Europe Zone 1 only - you can continue to data roam in Zone 2 without a cap. ipad users also have a monthly spend cap of 34. However, as ipad is unable to receive text alerts, it will be capped without advance notice unless you opt out. Vodafone are working on an solution specifically for ipad customers, which will be available this autumn. It s easy to opt out of the cap. ORANGE PRICE CHANGES Effective from 1st March, Orange has made some changes to simplify charges for International Direct Dial calls (calls from the UK to countries abroad) and charges for calls to premium rate numbers beginning with 09 prefix. These changes impact all existing customers who make IDD calls or call 09 numbers. CALLS TO PREMIUM RATE NUMBERS (09 PREFIX) Orange has simplified the charges for calls made to numbers beginning with 09. All calls are now charged at one of two standard rates either 1 per minute /call or 2 per minute / call. On 09 numbers. For full details of the charge for each 09 prefix please see CUSTOMER COMMUNICATIONS Customers impacted by these changes (i.e. have made IDD or 09 calls ) received an SMS with link to WAP page during the last 2 weeks of January to advise of these changes. IDD and 09 numbers are classed as Orange Additional Services, which are optional services provided by Orange. Any increase in price in relation to these services would only allow you to terminate that Orange Additional Service, via Orange Customer Services directly - Any increase in price associated solely with an Orange Additional Service would not allow you to terminate your contract in its entirety and leave the network. Orange Additional Services can be cancelled/removed from your account and Orange would process this for you on request. See page 33 for IDD call rates. Effective immediately Orange have made changes to the way in which they rate calls to numbers beginning with the prefix , , Calls to these prefixes will no longer be deducted from a customers inclusive minute allowance and instead will be charged at 20.04p per minute. If you have any queries in regards to the above please contact our Orange Specialist. New EU regulation launched on the 1st July, meaning that transferring data in Europe will be limited to 16MB/month. This will impact things like mobile devices and laptops with mobile broadband connections whilst in the EU. This is an automatic opt in so Orange have to limit all customers from the 1st July unless they opt out of the cap. What does this mean for my customers? Some of your customers use data roaming in the EU and some of them use more than 16MB in a month. If these customers didn t opt out they will be capped from 1st July. When a customer data roams in the EU after 1st July Orange will send them text messages when they reach 8MB and when they are close to the 16MB limit. Once they reach the limit their data will be cut off unless they contact Orange to opt out. Customers who have chosen to apply a data roaming bundle on their account which provides more than 16MB of data will automatically be opted out of this cap. What are the next steps? Customers can opt out of the data cap and most of the customers who use data in the EU will want to opt out as they are not going to want to stop receiving s or not use mobile broadband if they are on an important business trip. The decision maker on the account (or a designated 3rd party) can call Orange Customer Services to opt out of the cap for individual numbers on the account or for the account as a whole. 36
