Please be advised that although SPA will make every effort to offer courses as scheduled, occasionally the rotation plan is modified due to external circumstances. Core Courses These courses are required for the MPA degree. All core courses, and nearly all electives, should be completed before registering for PUAD 5361, Capstone Seminar. The Capstone Seminar should be taken in the student s final semester. 2 Required Concentration Courses The following courses are required for students electing a concentration. If you have declared a concentration, check with your advisor to determine which combination of required courses and electives will best serve you. These courses are also open as electives to students who have not declared a concentration. To declare a concentration, please speak to your academic advisor. These classes are offered on an intensive cohort basis. All GBV courses listed below are also cross-listed with the Criminal Justice (CRJU) Program. 4 Local Government Concentration The Local Government concentration requires two of the following classes plus three electives selected with your advisor. PUAD 5503 is required for all students who declare the Local Government concentration and may substitute for PUAD 5004 as a MPA core requirement. Option 1: If you choose to take 5503 as an MPA core instead of PUAD 5004, you must complete two of the classes listed below, in addition to two electives selected with your advisor. Option 2: If you choose to take 5004 as an MPA core instead of PUAD 5503, you must complete PUAD 5503 plus one of the following classes below, in addition to two electives selected with your advisor.
