1 Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center Introduction We are proud to issue our first edition of Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Center (TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT) newsletter that will provide our reader with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) news, updates, and the latest services provided by our Center. This newsletter aims to promote Arab societies awareness on the importance of training and its role in enhancing the growth of these societies. Being part of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG- Org), the largest Arab group of professional services, TAGCAMBRIDGEIT Center aims at improving education in the Arab societies and encouraging individuals from all ages to direct their potentials towards training and continuous learning. Consequently, this will build their capacities and boost their competence, especially in computer-usage skills. Equipped with such skills, the Arab societies will be integrated in the developed world through bridging the ICT gap. In order for this newsletter to be a reliable source in ICT topics, we would highly appreciate your comments, inquiries and any related information that will enrich it even further. That was launched to serve the organization s vision of offering the most recent means of knowledge and information sharing. Since the portal is available, everyone can find and use the latest version of TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT software, updates, books, materials, e-brochure, approved designs, and basic forms depending on the work flow. In addition, the portal keeps the employees updated with the latest partnerships the Organization establishes in different Arab countries and TAGorg international affiliation. Another e-service is the «exams management» where the administrator can book, buy and order the exams needed from Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) University of Cambridge. Any Exclusive center can also include all of its new accredited

Talal- Abu Ghazaleh Cambridge RO supervises and provides all the technical support needed to maintain availability, credibility, and connectivity. TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT e-learning team is currently working on automating its curricula in order for all candidates to learn the material individually through their PCs without the need for any trainer, as the program walks them step by step through a certain exercise, it also shows them whether they are in the right step of that exercise or not. This is the first step of many others that TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT is committed to implement in order to provide its clients with comprehensive e-learning resources. In addition, TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT RO team is now working on publishing the Arabic version of Windows Vista so that the candidates can get their certificates using this latest version of Microsoft Windows. TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT RO has already issued 100,000 copies of the Windows XP book in both Arabic and English Languages that include: Introduction to IT Using Computer and Managing Files TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT RO provides all offices with their needs of marketing and advertising materials and any accredited center can use the approved designs published on TAG-CAMBRIDGE IT portal. Due to the importance of the Cambridge Diploma in IT Skills, many governmental and professional bodies, as well as international organizations have given their support, ranging from official approval of the Diploma to requiring the Diploma for their employees. 3 NEWS and Events Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center in Kuwait Participates in Educare 2008 TAGorg plays pioneering role in eliminating computer illiteracy Under the patronage of the Kuwaiti Minister of Education Ms. Nourieh al-sabih, the Educare 2008 activities were held. Various entities and educational institutions including the Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center, the American University in Kuwait and the Middle East, the British Cultural Council, the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi and others participated in the international educational exhibition. Further, it enjoyed the participation of numerous countries such as Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, and others. An elite group from the domestic and regional working force in education and training fields was invited to participate in this exhibition. A representative from the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center in Kuwait stated that this participation will provide the Center an opportunity for academic marketing of what it offers. He added that the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) plays a pioneering role in eliminating computer illiteracy by providing educational and training courses through its centers all around the Arab Region. According to the increasing demand for our diploma, the courses have become widespread and quite popular throughout the Arab world in general and in Kuwait in particular, which has helped in bridging the digital gap globally. Third Group of Save the Children candidates Start Courses at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge Center The third group of candidates from the Save the Children organization in Jordan began courses at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center. The students include both adult employees from the organization, along with children that the organization cares for. The courses aim at increasing the IT skills of the participants and awarding the Cambridge IT Skills Certificate. This training is part of an ongoing cooperative program between the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Center and Save the Children. The first group of students graduated in February of this year and the second in May. The previous graduation ceremony was attended by the manager of the emergency program at Save the Children, along with administrative officials from the Center. The Center recently signed a new agreement with the organization to train people associated with Save the Children in the cities of Irbid and Mafraq. The execution of this agreement began in June, and will be followed by training courses throughout the rest of the Kingdom
