7 The Story so far.. IIRSM Middle East was established in 2010 During both 2010 & 2011, regularly organized member events had attendance numbers of between 8 to 20 people By mid 2012, with committee members unavailable due to work commitments, a lack of events quickly saw a wave of apathy taking hold, and it became obvious that the end was near..

9 2013 Dedicated branch address established 8 Branch meetings & 2 site tours Members invited to work with UAE MOL on law review project originally started in Visiting Chief Executive Phillip Pearson signs MOU with the UAE MOL in September IIRSM ME launches branch events in Qatar By year end: 190 UAE Members 507 LinkedIn page members

10 2014 Region becomes fastest member growth area for the Institute. GCC Membership hits 600 Linkedin page hits UAE Branch Networking events 2 UAE Site Tours 2 PASMA Awareness Training days 4 Qatar Branch events 3 visits from UK leadership IIRSM President Peter Hall signs Letter of Agreement with OSHAD

18 New Roles Technical Director Peter Hall, as Technical Director has the remit to manage all technical outputs of the Institute such as articles, official commentary, consultations etc. working closely with the technical committee. He is currently engaged on the European Patent Office contract to undertake a comprehensive range of risk assessments addressing not only the traditional health and safety risks but also issues relating to the wellbeing of employees and their exposure to ergonomic risks. He will also manage special projects, such as IIRSM s application for ISO 9001 certification in Quality Management Systems.

19 Technical Committee New Roles The TC have been writing articles for Insight and resources for the website, such as the new Quick Guide series. The main output of the committee this year has been the Cyber Research project a technical research paper and guide for SMEs and associated tools which will be promoted during the next 3-6 months to inform members about how to deal with this major risk. They are in the process of planning key outputs for the next Fiscal Year.

20 IIRSM Activity New website is in phase two with notable changes to see improvements to CPD process and Branch Committee access. Branch Support documents under preparation IIRSM are working on implementing webinars in the next financial year. Affiliate Member re-launch Work on launching of IIRSM branded qualifications to continue

21 IIRSM Activity Presentations from the Annual conference available online and open to all Quick guide series launched: quick guides for members on various topics (a few are available to non-members as well) Collaborations with key organisations e.g. APS and MoD. IIRSM is delivering a cyber security seminar at ESAS 2016, the MoD s flagship symposium and also exhibiting at the event. We continue to work with DE&S (MoD subsidiary) to professionalise their staff and increase membership from this group.

Scope Professional standards of competence for individuals Suite of professional qualifications Learning materials, delivery & support Transparent and robust governance and quality assurance New membership structure and CPD scheme New or enhanced IT systems External accreditation

23 Draft Qualifications Design Level 2: Certificate 3 to 6 months duration Assessed through online multiple choice and/or assignment Student member for duration of studies Earn credits towards the Level 4 Diploma Membership on completion Level 4: Diploma 12 to 18 months duration Assessed through online multiple choice and/or assignment Student member for duration of studies Earn credits towards the Level 7 qualification Membership on completion Level 7: Advanced Diploma 2 to 3 years duration Seek to develop a Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in partnership with universities Member on completion.
