NPTI had been providing its dedicated service to the Power Sector for about fifty Years. NPTI operates on all India basis through its nine Institutes in different zones of the country. NPTI is starting a three months Post Graduate Certificate Course on GIS and Remote Sensing for graduates as well as executives from the industry. RECOMMENDED FOR The minimum qualifications for admissions to three months Post Graduate Certificate Course in GIS and Remote Sensing shall be graduate in any discipline. Those appearing in their final year examination may also apply. This course can also be attended by junior and middle level managers /executives/ officers and sponsored candidates also. Attending this three months course will help the candidates in acquiring good knowledge and skill on GIS and thereby increase their opportunities for getting placements in this field. PROGRAM OVERVIEW NPTI weaves formal education with industry oriented specialized skills to cater to the needs of Power Sector and creates a pool of technically trained manpower for ready availability for recruitment by PSUs/SEBs/Power Utilities/IPPs etc. NPTI is conducting this three months Post Graduate Certificate Course in GIS for the candidates willing to make a career in the GIS sector. This course is designed for graduates as well as executives from the industry. MODULE COVERED This training program shall broadly cover the following modules: Sl. 2 2 DIP using ERDAS imagine :- Image Interpretation & Analysis, Layer Stacking, Image Enhancement Tools, Image Rectification and Rationing, Mosaicking & Subset and Image Classification. 3 Fundamentals of GIS :- Basics of Geography & Cartography, Map Projections, Fundamentals of GIS, Spatial Data Models, Creating & Editing Geodata, Attribute data creation, Spatial Data Analysis & Thematic Map Preparation. 4 GIS Data Preparation & Analysis :- Arc View and Arc GIS, Spatial Analysis using Arc GIS 5 Computer Fundamentals & Non-Spatial Database :- Database concepts, Data Normalizations, Relation between different tables, Linking of External non spatial database to Geo. 6 Application GIS Development, Web based GIS, Interoperability, Mobile GIS & Open Source GIS 7 Case Studies & GIS Applications :- Urban & Regional Planning, Power Distribution System and Disaster Management, Environmental studies & Site suitability. PROGRAM START DATE: 30 th October, 2017 INTAKE: The maximum number of seats is 50. The reservation for SC/ST, OBC and physically handicapped and other categories will be as per Central Govt. norms. Seats could however be increased as per the policy decision to be taken at a subsequent stage by NPTI. 5 nos. seats are kept for sponsored candidates. For Non-Sponsored Candidates = Rs. 30,000/- + 5,400 (GST: 18%) = Rs. 35,400/- per candidate 2. For Sponsored Candidate = Rs. 40,000/- + 7,200 (GST: 18%) = Rs. 47,200/- per candidate

3 ACCOMODATION: Hostel accommodation will be provided to the candidates subject to availability on nominal charge basis as given below: Hostels (Non A.C. on sharing basis): Rs.12000/- for three months duration.
