1 NATIONAL CERTIFICATION BOARD INDIAN SOCIETY FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING ANNOUNCEMENT ASNT NDT Level III Examination MUMBAI, INDIA MAY 23, 24 & 25, 2016 The Indian Society for Non - Destructive Testing (ISNT), the National Sponsoring Organization of the American Society for Non Destructive Testing (ASNT) is pleased to announce that the ASNT NDT Level III Examination of 2016 (by the ASNT) in various methods is scheduled to be held at Mumbai, India on 23 rd, 24 th and 25 th May, The examinations will be conducted under the auspices of the American Society for Non-destructive Testing, USA by NCB-ISNT. NDT Level III certification by ASNT (which is given only by examination) will help NDT personnel and the organizations that employ them, in promoting global acceptance of their Products and Services. The importance and the necessity for Indian Industry to compete in the International arena needs no emphasis. The details of the fee structure applicable for the Examination is given in Table-I. The typed / printed applications for the examinations duly completed in all respects along with requisite supporting documents and applicable fees (ASNT & ISNT) shall be sent to the Examination Coordinator mentioned above. Last date for receipt of completed application forms is 29th February, 2016 ASNT NDT Level III Examination will be conducted in the following methods: 1. Basic (NDT) 8. Eddy Current Testing 2. 2 It may please be noted that the Basic examination by itself is not considered as a method. Basic and method examination(s) must be taken to become eligible to receive a certificate for that method(s). The maximum number of examinations that can be taken is seven during the three days of the Examination. Also, personnel applying for initial certification are now required to sign up for the Basic AND a Method examination; just taking the Basic examination by itself is no longer permitted. (Personnel who have passed a Method exam but failed in Basic may retake the Basic only.) EXAMINATION DATES: The ASNT Level III examination for each test methods will be given on only one date and time as shown in the tables below. Candidates should identify the examinations they wish to appear by selecting the appropriate boxes (ASNT Member/Non-Member and New/Retake) for each examination and also mention the appropriate fee payable in the column allotted in the ASNT Application form as Fee in the table. The candidates must attend the examination on that date at that time as mentioned in the application form. All examinations are conducted in the English language only. The amount collected as ISNT fees is towards meeting the administrative expenses incurred by ISNT to conduct the exams and includes Courier charges for the examination booklet (from and to ASNT), Venue arrangements ( Hall + Infrastructure), Monitor travel and accommodation, Monitor fees and refreshments for candidates. Applicants will only be permitted to sit in the examination if both the ASNT and ISNT fees are paid in total without any dues. Even if ASNT considers the application sent by candidate directly or on account of Transfer / Postponement, the candidates need to send ISNT Fees within the due date.

4 2. Those who are not current members of ASNT at the time of examination (i.e. as of May 2016) can include membership fee of USD 75 along with relevant ASNT examination fee and the surcharge. Those who are current member at the time of examination and wishing to renew the membership for one year shall include membership fee of USD 65 (refer examination documents). If no option is exercised in the membership form of application - for becoming - Member, - the fee charged will be $335 / $260 for each method for New / Retake candidates respectively as applicable for Non-Members. 3. The total ASNT fee including surcharge and membership fee as applicable shall be sent in the form of a crossed cheque (Demand Draft) in US Dollars favouring American Society for Non-destructive Testing and Payable at USA. Candidates within India may get the necessary foreign exchange in USD from a scheduled bank. 4. The ISNT fees shall be paid in Indian Rupees either by Demand Draft favouring NCB-ISNT, payable at Chennai or by wire transfer. Cheques will not be accepted. Candidates wish to make the ASNT fee through credit card should fill up the required details in the 1 st page of the ASNT Application form. Payment by cheque instructions: 1. Cheque (DD) should be drawn in favour of ASNT. 2. Cheque (DD) must be in US dollars and drawn on a US bank. 3. Cheque (DD) must have an electronic strip (detailing the account and bank information) at the bottom for processing. Cheques without an electronic strip will be returned to the customer and the application will not be processed.

5 Wire Transfer Instructions for ASNT Fees: 1. Payment for the full amount must be made in US dollars. 2. If your bank requires an intermediary or correspondent bank to send the payment, you are responsible for the charges from that bank as well as your own. Payments received by ASNT must be for the full amount. 3. Please include a reference when processing your wire transfer so that ASNT can identify your payment. References should include the candidate s name, ASNT identification number if available and the product or service requested. Example: Exam fees for John Q. Completed application form along with enclosures and proof of payment (DD/wire transfer) with regard to the relevant ASNT / ISNT fees shall be sent to ASNT Level III Exam Coordinator at the address given in the first page of the announcement, before the due date i.e. 29 th February, Incomplete applications or applications without the supporting documents and fees are liable for rejection. 7. Kindly arrange to get the employer s certification with signature and stamp in page 4 of the application. This certificate by Employer is taken as proof of work experience as Level II. 8. NO APPLICATION WITH DD DATED AFTER THE DUE DATE WILL BE ACCEPTED. 9. Candidates may kindly fill up the application form as per instructions given and carefully check the same before submission. Incomplete application forms or those without requisite enclosures and fees will be REJECTED.

Withdrawal or Postponement: When requests for withdrawing from Exams or for Postponement to next schedule is received from the candidates on or before the due date ie. 29 th February, 2016 total Service Tax paid will be deducted from ISNT fee paid by the candidate. If such requests are received after 29 th February, 2016 then Administrative charges of Rs.2000/- plus total Service Tax paid will be deducted from the ISNT fee paid by the candidate. 11. Candidates are requested to send Legible Softcopy of the application forms and all their mail correspondence only to and not to any other mail id of ISNT. 29 th February, 2016 is the last date for receipt of completed application forms with all enclosures at ISNT Head Office (address given on first page).
