Sessions can be scheduled throughout the year and delivered at different company locations. To Get Started Complete the custom course questionnaire that is available on our website or via the QR code below. The questionnaire will help to identify your key training goals and objectives to provide us with the information we need to put together a proposal for you. We need to know: How and where do you use fiber in your network? What are your primary objectives for this course? What is your time frame for hosting a course? How many days of training do you need? How many classes do you need? How many people will be trained? Is certification important? Get started today! Download our questionnaire here. We will be better as a team moving forward. This will reduce our repair times. Jack B., Bend Broadband TDS Specifications and class dates are subject to change without notice 5

12 Fiber Characterization Light Brigade offers two characterization courses for engineers, planners, project managers, construction and operations staff, and anyone working with high speed networks. Choose the course that works for your needs. Fiber Characterization Fundamentals This two-day class combines classroom lecture and hands-on testing skills to provide an understanding of the principles behind building and maintaining high speed optical networks. Key parameters such as polarization mode dispersion (PMD), chromatic dispersion (CD), and optical return loss (ORL) need to be calculated in order to evaluate system capabilities and network upgrades to higher bit rate systems. This intermediate level class requires basic knowledge of fiber optic theory. It is intended for people involved with equipment or outside plant where fiber characterization is needed to assure proper operation of 10 Gb/s or higher data rates.
