Food safety is complex and depends on several components. The knowledge required to implement an effective food safety program would be very difficult to obtain by attending only a single course. This complete program has been designed to help you dive into food safety, while providing a proper foundation to learn the most advanced standards. With this program, you will learn how to implement the necessary components of a food safety system based on preventive controls. You will learn GMP s which serve as the foundation of any food safety plan and are considered pre-requisites for most standards. You will learn the 12 steps in designing your HACCP program along with the necessary elements and implementation methods, including how to complete each related form. To comply with the FDAs Food Safety Modernization Act, which applies to facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold human food in the U.S, or those that export to the U.S, a new approach must be implemented and the Food Safety Plan must be overseen by a PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual). One way to become a PCQI, is to take the Preventive Controls for Human Food Course. This course, taught by a Preventive Controls for Human Foods Lead Instructor was developed by FSPCA in collaboration with the FDA.
