By adopting MPLS-TP (Multi-Protocol Label Switching Transport Profile), the AG7860 can transport Ethernet (EPL, EVPL, ELAN, EVC defined in MEF), E1/T1 TDMoE, and SDH CEP traffic. The unit is also equipped with OAM tools to perform diagnosis on the LSPs (Label Switched Paths) and pseudowires. The AG7860 is a perfect packet transport platform for IP-mobile and leaseline applications containing hub, ring and mesh topologies. Solution Overview The AG7860 is the ideal CES grooming gateway in combination with ULAF+ ACCEED demarcation and aggregation devices. With all NE types supported by the ULAF+ MetroIntegrator NMS, full end-to-end provisioning and service monitoring is provided reducing time spent by staff when provisioning and trouble-shooting and simplifying the integration in OSS. The solution provides flexible assignment of 64 kbit/s timeslots (DS0) and grooming over the available circuit emulation interfaces (E1 / T1 / STM-1 / STM-4) and is delivering high density with, up to 80 E1/T1 interfaces and 1024 pseudowires in just a 1U height 19 inch housing. 2 Application Carrier Grade MPLS-TP and Ethernet Traffic aware switching with extended flow management allows providers to address the emerging market of premium voice and data services over Ethernet. Support of E1 Legacy Services The AG7860 enables the termination of a high number of pseudowires (1024) over up to 80 E1 interfaces giving the possibility to connect legacy TDM customer equipment. This allows a successful migration to full carrier ethernet. The integrated pseudo wire interworking function supports Structure Agnostic (SAToP) and Structure Aware (CESoPSN) payload encapsulated in Ethernet or MPLS PWE3 protocols. With the support of Y.1731 SOAM and the AIS, RDI and BER indications of the pseudowire a full end-to-end service view is provided. With current migrations taking place from TDM networks to packet-based networks, the need to maintain the highest reliability and availability has been higher than ever, especially for special purpose mobile networks. No matter what packet-based network you are using, MPLS, VPLS, H-VPLS, Carrier Ethernet, the AG7860 based solution will be a perfect match. Fault Fault propagation (including AIS/RDI and dying gasp), link, port and service level alarms together with extensive localization tools such as continuity check, linktrace and loopback allow to quickly locate faults and re-establish the service in case of failures. The AG7860 is managed by the MetroIntegrator network management system which is capable to provision EVC s end-to-end. Operators that want to manage the AG7860 directly can do so via CLI or SNMP via the DCN-port, in band management or via the console port. The AG7860 supports SNMP with standard MIB s and provides RMON capability to enhance the operators view on the actual bandwidth usage, including threshold crossing alarms. 3 Provisioning In combination with MetroIntegrator the time required for provisioning end-to-end EVCs and pseudowires is reduced to a fraction of the time and much of the complexity is taken away so that operators can focus on their main goal. Performance Y.1731 based performance management continuously monitors SLA parameters such as Frame Loss, Availability, Frame Delay and Frame Delay Variation with microsecond accuracy and generates alarms if Objective Thresholds are violated, giving providers the possibility to proactively take actions before the service is seriously degraded. Collection of statistics on physical, packet and service level as well as monitoring service utilization. Tracking service performance to analyse network traffic and to certify SLA conformity.
