1 Getting Started How do I configure my Roqos Core to work with a Verizon FIOS router? A modem and wireless router come together in a Verizon FIOS router. Please refer to the instructions within the article How do I connect Roqos Core if I have a router with an internal modem?" How do I connect my Roqos Core if I have a router with internal modem? We recommend that you disable the Wi-Fi on your cable modem supplied by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Each cable modem s setup is different and we suggest that you refer to instructions provided by your ISP on turning off Wi-Fi. After disabling Wi-Fi, you ll connect one end of the included ethernet cable to port labelled Internet on your Roqos Core, and the other to one of the network ports on your modem. We suggest that you provide the same Wi-Fi name and password as your existing Wi-Fi network while setting up your Roqos Core. This will help you avoid the hassle of configuring all devices in your home to connect to the new network. If you choose to leave the Wi-Fi on your built-in router enabled, you should make sure to change the Wi-Fi name on this router. It will lead to connection issues on your devices if the Wi-Fi name is the same between Roqos Core and your modem s built-in router. How do I download the Roqos app? You can download it at roqos.com/app. Do I need to change WiFi settings on all of my devices? You will need to change the Wi-Fi settings on all your devices if you give a different Wi-Fi name or password when setting up your Roqos Core. In order to avoid this hassle, we suggest that you give the same existing Wi-Fi name and password to Roqos Core, and then turn off the Wi-Fi on your existing router. If disabling Wi-Fi is not an option given the circumstances, you should change the Wi-Fi name and password on your old router to avoid conflicts when devices join your network.

2 How do I set up my Roqos Core? When you receive your Roqos Core you will first need to activate it. You can do this via the Roqos Home app which can be downloaded from roqos.com/app. If you have made your purchase from Roqos.com, you can login with the account credentials you created at the time of purchase. You will then be presented with the option to activate your Roqos Core. If you have made your purchase from a 3rd party website such as Amazon, you will first need to create a Roqos account. Tap on "Don't have an account? Create one." on the login page of Roqos Home app. You will be taken to account registration page. After you are done with creating an account, return back to Roqos Home app and login to the account you have just created. From there, you will be guided through the activation steps. How do I connect my Roqos Core if I have a cable modem and a separate router? The Roqos Core replaces your existing router and connects directly to your cable modem. You connect one end of the included ethernet cable to the port labelled Internet on your Roqos Core, and the other to your modem. Which mobile devices can I use to set up and manage my Roqos Core? You can use any Android or ios device to set up and manage your Roqos Core. Why does the Google Playstore require me to accept so many permissions when installing the Roqos Home app? Some permissions are necessary for our app to be able to work properly. Each permission and their use is explained below. Keep in mind that different Android operating system versions group these permissions differently. The below permissions are as reported by Android 7: Device ID & Call Information: In order to be able share WiFi password with SMS, Roqos app uses this permission to understand if the device running the app is capable of sending messages.

Roqos app does not view your SMS messages and only uses the send function if and only if you select Share Home Wi-Fi Password via Text in our app. Photos/Media/Files: This is needed to be able to save and read the already saved pictures assigned to each user profile inside the app. Wi-Fi connection information: This is needed to be able to check if the device is connected to Roqos Core s Wi-Fi signal while activating your Roqos Core. How do I remotely reboot my Roqos Core? In case you run into an issue and need to restart your Roqos Core when you are not home, navigate to Settings section on your Roqos Home app. Tap on Advanced Settings followed by the Restart Roqos Core option. It takes about 30 seconds for the Roqos Core to restart and all active users on the network temporarily lose their internet connection.

4 Why am I experiencing a slow connection throughout my home? The first thing you ll want to do is figure out whether you re experiencing the slow connection on multiple devices. If it s only on one device, simply turn your device s WiFi off and on again. If that doesn t work, try rebooting the device. If you re having an issue across multiple devices, the most reliable way to measure your speed is to connect to Roqos Core via an ethernet cable and run a speed test from that device by going to Speedtest.net. If the numbers you are seeing are comparatively lower to what you pay your internet service provider, we recommend that you get in touch with them.

The intrusion prevention feature that comes with Roqos subscription constantly analyzes your network traffic by using the latest security signatures. Every once in awhile, it may falsely identify a match against these signatures and block your access to a site you wish to access. In those cases, you can disable intrusion prevention under Cybersecurity section within Roqos Home app. The Roqos Core is blinking red This means your Roqos Core is not connected to the internet. If you recently changed the network configuration that resulted in a loss of internet connection, please wait 5 minutes for Roqos Core to automatically revert back to previous settings. If you haven t changed the network configuration, please reach out to your internet service provider for a possible internet outage. What does the No Internet Connection message on the Roqos Home app mean? This means that the device you are on does not have a working internet connection. Make sure your device is connected to the internet either via Wi-Fi or cellular.

6 If you are connected to Roqos Core Wi-Fi, please check to see if it is blinking red or white. If it is blinking red, contact your internet service provider for a possible outage. If it is blinking white, please submit a ticket request from the link below.
