Energy Management System INNCOM by Honeywell PWV contact details: Dmitry Levkin
INTRODUCTION The INNCOM dedicated hotel automation system produced by Honeywell is a combination of multiple functional capabilities and easiness of use. INNCOM is a division of Honeywell, oriented at the production of a range of specialized hotel products. The INNCOM automation system is installed in more than a million hotel accommodations throughout the world. This system can be adapted both for small guesthouses and for the most luxurious 5-star hotels. INNCOM system is based on cutting edge technologies. It permits guests to use intuitive algorithms to control lighting, climate, mechanization and many other functions of their accommodations. The system allows its users to develop electricity, heat and other energy resources utilization strategies and to cut service costs substantially. All the guest rooms are connected into a single data highway by wired or wireless links and connected to the system server. The INNcontrol 3 system server software permits one to monitor the system status in a real time mode. It has multiple tools for system monitoring and control; it is also capable of forming various reports for service, functioning analysis and energy consumption calculation. INNCOM can be integrated with all key PMS systems; it can be tuned in accordance with specific requirements. System flexibility permits its designers to take the customer's wishes into account at the design stage and to develop a configuration that will ensure maximum comfort and functionality.. The terms of this proposal are valid for 30 days 1
THE FOLLOWING SUBSYSTEMS FORM THE INNCOM EMS Power saving The system may power on/off a room contactor that in its turn switches preset power groups in order to supply the room with power when the guest is present and to deenergize it when the guest is absent. The power outlets network is divided into a deenergizable and a non-deenergizable segments, the non-deenergizable segment outlets are deenergized when the guest is absent. Nondeenergizable power outlets are used for powering TV sets, minibar and other power consumers that need to be supplied with current constantly. This feature allows to cut power supply cost substantially and provides additional security, eliminating the need in inconvenient and obsolete card holders. Guest room HVAC control Automation equipment in every room has a hardware interface with the power and signal terminals of the fan coil unit and heating radiator control valves. This feature permits you to order FCU equipment without thermostats and control boards, ensuring substantial budget savings. When guests are absent in the room, the INNCOM automation system maintains a lower temperature in winter and a higher one in summer. After the room is activated, the system maintains a comfortable preset room temperature. Maintaining various temperature levels in hotel room depending on where the room is let and whether the guest is inside and avoiding possibility of heating radiator and FCU ineffective confrontation, allows to cut system operation costs considerably. Thermostat Temperature control off/auto; Fan rotation speed control; Room temperature control. C/ F button; Motion Sensor; Current or set temperature display. The system ensures temperature setting for one, several rooms and all the rooms of the hotel by the following criteria and scenarios: presence of a guest; seasonal scenario; data about a guest arrival/departure, room downtime, etc. received from the PMS and CELS The automation system will switch off the HVAC equipment when a window opening is detected in order to save power costs and further increase guest comfort. A magnetic switch is used in the system for that purpose. Advanced HVAC control on a hotel-wide basis helps you save up to 30 per cent on energy consumption, compared to conventional system. The terms of this proposal are valid for 30 days 2
INNCOM OCCUPANCY LOGIC INNCOM s motion based occupancy logic for guestrooms has been in use for more than a dozen years with very high reliability. Using occupancy logic in the guestroom allows the hotel to save significant energy and participate in sustainability programs by reducing HVAC and lighting use when rooms are vacant. In addition, occupancy information provides a valuable tool for your staff that improves work efficiency and reduces guest disturbances. The INNCOM occupancy system relies on two primary inputs, the signal from the entry door switch (or integrated door lock) and a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor that continually monitors the guestroom for the presence of guests. These two inputs allow the occupancy logic built into INNCOM smart thermostat line to accurately identify occupancy versus vacancy of the room. (In applications with lighting control, activation of any INNCOM lighting switch is a 3rd input that verifies occupancy). Simply stated, the logic is: door open/close + motion sensed = occupied room Alternately: door open/close + no motion sensed = vacant room In conjunction with the above logic is a time delay function. Each time the entry door switch (or integrated door lock) indicates the door has opened and closed, an evaluation period begins where the room is maintained in an occupied mode while the e4 evaluates the status of the room. If during the time delay period, motion is seen from either an entering guest or a second guest in the room, then the room logic remains occupied and the guestroom HVAC and lighting continue to be active. If the time delay evaluation period expires with no motion seen, then the room is declared unoccupied and pre-set functions for energy savings (widened temperature bands and lights off) are initiated. A second layer of logic further increases the accuracy of the INNCOM logic. The system can employ an additional time delay beyond the initial occupancy determination time for designated loads. This is most often used for lighting loads, in particular in the bathroom. Hence, whenever the door switch is activated the INNCOM thermostat maintains the HVAC in an enabled mode for 15 minutes and designated lighting loads remain enabled for 30 or more minutes while the system re-evaluates the room status. If new motion is registered or a light switch is operated within these time frames then the room and the systems remain active and no change occurs. If no motion is seen or no light switches are activated within these time frames, then the unoccupied mode is declared and the temperature bands expand after 15 minutes and the lights are shut down after minutes (depending on pre-set parameters). INNCOM s goal is always to balance guest comfort while automatically maximizing energy savings. The terms of this proposal are valid for 30 days 3
ADVANCED CELS INTEGRATION INNCOM by Honeywell is a pioneer and leader in offering integration with other hospitality technology providers and has established relationships with a vast number of Electronic locking providers such as VingCard, Timelox, Kaba/Saflok, Hafele, SALTO. When your hotel chooses one of those systems, the locks can be equipped with a communication module that allows them to communicate to a central server via the INNCOM network. It s the power of having multiple vendors and multiple room systems share the benefit of one common back-bone network. When you deploy the INNCOM Energy management System and Central Electronic Lock System (CELS) you can start receiving the value of integrated applications. When the door is opened, the energy management system can react appropriately. When the door is left open for extended periods of time, the network can report the event as an alarm at the server. The system can also differentiate between guests and staff, to activate different lighting scenes as well as enable temperature settings as appropriate. A properly programmed occupancy detection system recognizes Nine Main Modes and responds to each according to the hotel s requirements: Mode # Name Описание 1 Rented Unoccupied Room is sold; but nobody is in the room 2 Rented Occupied Room is sold and a person (not staff / housekeeping) is in the room 3 Rented Occupied, Entry Door Ajar Door was left open for a time, but not by staff / housekeeping 4 Rented Occupied Night When guest is assumed to be asleep 5 Rented Occupied by Hotel Staff / Housekeeping Room is rented and staff / housekeeping is working in the room 6 Unrented Unoccupied Room is not sold 7 Unrented Occupied by Hotel Staff Staff is in an unrented room 8 Unrented Occupied Room is not sold and a person who is not authorized staff is in the room (special or illegal condition) 9 Unrented Hibernating Room is not expected to be sold for a while The terms of this proposal are valid for 30 days 4
Benefits of Central Electronic Lock Systems Rooms can be remotely re-assigned. Suites can be reconfigured from the front desk. Guest s check-out time can be extended remotely. VIP s can be checked-in without stopping at reception. Instant notification of a door being forced open. Lock functionality verification before a card is issued to a guest. Universal cancellation and/or re-issuance of a staff key card without having to go to each lock in the property. Daily lock-time synchronization. Automatic daylight-savings changes. Reduced costs of labor, batteries and dead lock events with battery condition reporting. The terms of this proposal are valid for 30 days 5
DEEP MESH NETWORK The INNCOM Deep Mesh Network (DMN) architecture provides a very cost effective, self-forming wireless network. INNCOM s DMN eliminates the need for multiple radios and networks that are densely populated with costly auxiliary routers and PAN coordinators that support a limited number of rooms. A typical INNCOM network needs only one Edge Router for up to 250 rooms. Additionally, this highly efficient architecture reduces installation cost associated with traditional networks along with ongoing maintenance costs to keep other systems up and running. The DMN also eliminates or greatly reduces cabling and electrical power requirements necessary to install other systems. Unlike other Network Systems which require an extensive installation effort, network cabling, and electrical power for devices, the INNCOM DMN requires minimal installation effort, since the network infrastructure is embedded in the thermostat. The terms of this proposal are valid for 30 days 6
Centrally controlled networks topology options The network infrastructure is embedded in the thermostat, requiring a minimum amount of additional network hardware. For example: If there are several points of communication in a room, such as lighting controls or a thermostat, the signal will always find the safest and fastest way to travel throughout the building to communicate with the server. The terms of this proposal are valid for 30 days 7
INNCOM DEEP MESH NETWORK OVERWIEV: ZigBee (IEEE ) based, designed to work with ZigBee Pro, ZigBee 2006, and 6LoWPAN. Supports INNCOM s IRAS message bus. Facilitates interoperability between RF, IR and wired room devices. Multi-path packet routing for enhanced transport reliability.
