WDM networks are ideal for customers who seek to transmit large amounts of data between different LAN sites. Sites can be point to point, or other network topologies such as point to multi-point or mesh (with many edges). Suits customers who must increase the bandwidth of data transmissions but wish to avoid the cost of leasing additional dedicated fibre runs between LAN sites.
