DEFINITION Multi Operator In-Building Solution, MOiBS, are solutions that provides mobile coverage inside buildings, where the coverage, capacity or quality otherwise would not had been satisfactory. MOiBS can include both cellular standards such as GSM, WCDMA, CDMA2000, TDMA and/or non-cellular standards like Wireless LAN and Bluetooth.

Mobile Internet Services Present and Future MOiBS in combination with standard and customized wireless applications, use their mobile phones and laptop to access data that previously was not accessible via wireless devices with high data rates provide numerous opportunities for the operators where tailor-made application packages may be introduced to satisfy any end-user service requirement at for example an office, airport, exhibition centre or subway station, conference centre, hotel or shopping mall.

POPULATION Building types and possible Mobile Applications Offices/industries i Wireless office, Mobile Extension, corporate Intranet, work orders, supervision, production control, etc. Airports and bus/train stations Travel information, check-in, booking, local transport information, and duty free/shop advertisement, access to Internet via mobile broadband etc. Conference and exhibition centers Portal info, info/notifications, voting, enquiries, visitor feedback, access to Internet/Intranet via mobile broadband etc.

POPULATION Building types and possible Mobile Applications Hospitals Staff/patient communication, patient journal management, reminders/notifications to staff, patient supervision, etc Hotels Staff and service management, booking, Internet, check-in, etc Shopping malls Advertisement, info to visitors, item search, finding friends, staff communication etc.

POPULATION Subject areas covered: Economics and business management / Economics by sector of activity / Telecoms economics Information technology / Tl Telematic, networks, shared systems, queuing systems, internet / Network and server administration. network administration platforms Electricity - electronics - telecoms / Telecommunications / Telecommunication links - antennae - cabling - radio - video television - audiovisual - radar - networks (see also under telemetics)

INFRASTRUCTURE Network In-Building coverage using one or several dedicated di d radio base stations, ti RBSs, is the most common solution for bigger in-building sites The RBSs are usually connected to the mobile operators networks via copper wires, optical fibers or microwave link connections. The output ports of the RBSs are connected to one or several antennas. An antenna system with several antennas is usually named Distributed Antenna System or simply a DAS RBSs technologies offers cost-efficient radio solutions that improve radio coverage, capacity and data transmission speed in mobile communications networks

INFRASTRUCTURE Sets of equipment for Network RBSs Technologies' Coverage Engineering solutions are built on world-class expertise in fields that include the following : Fibre-optic repeater networks BTS/repeater hybrid networks Antenna systems s Design and wave propagation characterization Tuning, balancing and optimisation of complex networks

INFRASTRUCTURE Distributed Antenna System DAS, consists of either passive or active components or a mix of passive and active components. The passive DASs are the most commonly deployed and consist of The DASs can be single or coaxial feeder cables and multi operator solutions and components such as antennas, handle one or several bands power tapers and power (for example both GSM and splitters. Radiating feeders are CDMA in a common antenna used as a combined feeder system) cable and antenna

INFRASTRUCTURE Distributed Antenna System Our Technologies is a leading expert in the field of multiband Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), an effective answer to implementing multioperator coverage in confined areas. Single-operator DASs are typically owned by the mobile operator, while multi-operator DASs tend to be owned by other players in the market, such as neutral host providers, building owners, government authorities and enterprises.

Benefits for the Mobile Operators New traffic resulting in increased revenue streams Competitive edge and image Network off-load which frees capacity Prepared for future needs with excellent network quality
