The explanations and demonstrations are provided by the instructor in the classroom, or in the OnDemand electures of this course available on the Bentley LEARNserver (learn.bentley.com). 2 Description and Objectives Course Description This workbook contains information on setting up and using detail styles used in relation to fabrication type drawings. 3 Section 01: Opening the DetailCenter Exercise Description Before we begin, let s look at how to launch the DetailCenter. DetailCenter Note: If you haven t already, copy the pro_st3d.fdf file from the provided dataset into the localized data folder but back up the original first. Next restart ProSteel. 1. Go to the ProStructures Tasks area and left click on the DetailCenter (G-10) button. 2. The first time you access the DetailCenter a ProSteel Drawing Information Table dialog box may appear. For now, simply left-click on the OK button to continue if this appears. 3. The DetailCenter dialog box should now appear. There is a dropdown that provides different ways of utilizing the DetailCenter but in this case we will simply select the default DetailCenter Standard option and left-click on the OK button to continue. 4. 4 Section 01: Copying the Detailstyle Exercise Description We are going to copy an existing detailstyle and build from this a new style for our gusset plates. Note that if the style mentioned below does not exist you can copy the standard style instead. Copying the Detailstyle 1. From the Parts tab, left-click on the TRN - ELEVATION [96] style and then right-click on it. 2. From the list that appears, left-click on Copy style, the Copy detail style dialog should appear. 3. When prompted, type in the name TRN GUSSET PLATE [4] and then left-click the OK button. 4. Next left-click on the TRN GUSSET PLATE [4] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 5. 5 Section 01: Filtering the List Exercise Description The list of parts can be very long and not always sorted the way we would like. In this exercise we will filter the list so that we can easily locate and use a gusset plate. Filtering the List of Parts 1. Left-click the Display and Filter button on the Parts tab of the Detail Center. A. Set the Selection Display type dropdown to User Defined. B. From the Available display fields, left-click on Part Description to select it and then move it into the Selected Data Fields area using the arrow button pointing right. C. Under Group Display dropdown, select Only single parts. D. From the checkbox options near the bottom, make certain that Show Entries only 1x and No empty Folder is checked while New per Group is not checked. Ignore With Pre-sort for now. E. 6 Section 02: Parts Exercise Description In the following exercises we will take a look at the detail style and see some of the settings that can have an impact on how the 2D drawings are generated. Parts Preparing the detail style (Gusset Plate) A. Begin by selecting and expanding the Gusset Vertical section in the list from the Model window. B. From here, select the Pos. gp8 (PL 0:0 3/8x1:2 1/8) plate and left-click and drag it up on top of the TRN - GUSSET PLATE [4] detail style that was just created. Pos. gp8 (PL 0:0 3/8x1:2 1/8) should now appear in the Views tab area. (As mentioned in a previous lesson, the option Take over into view list needs to be enable for this to occur automatically.) C. Left-click on the Views tab. D. Once on the Views tab, left-click on Pos. gp8 (PL 0:0 3/8x1:2 1/8) to select it and then right-click on it to display a list of choices. From the list of choices, left-click on Preview. E. Next right-click on Pos. gp8 (PL 0:0 3/8x1:2 1/8) again and this time select Edit style. You should see a preview of the gusset plate as well as the detail style options. F. In the Detail Style we need to change the settings in certain areas as follows: A. Set the Scale to 1: 4 B. Ensure that Don t scale parts is checked. C. We will only be using Dimensions and Descriptions for the gusset. D. Set the Projection method to Method 3 (A) E. The Description field should reflect the style being created, in this case we can put Gusset Plate Detail Style. F. Set the Insert Position to your preferred method. 7 A. The Partial Views section allows you to define which views are used in the detail. We will be using Automatic Selection for this exercise. Automatic Selection will try to choose the most appropriate view for the element in question. Default allows the user to specify which views are used. Cut is generally used with views and allows for hatching to be displayed. B. View Depth allows the user to overwrite the clipping depth defined in the model for views. Note: What appears, or does not appear, in the Partlist can also be affected by the depth limitation as well. C. The Miscellaneous spacing options can be used to set the distance between the different views of the detail. A. The 2D Display Common tab provides settings which control how an element is to be seen, the most important of which is Visible Edges and Hidden edges. These options allow the user to see regular solid lines in the case of visible edges and hidden lines where hidden edges is concerned. 8 A. Enabling the Axis Views in the 2D Display Common Holes section will place into the drawing an axis line for holes when seen from the side. B. Once enabled, how far the line extends beyond the element itself is determined by the value typed here. C. Axis Top View does the same thing as except that this option works with holes as seen from the top. You can choose to turn them off or specify which type of hole to place axis on. In this case we will use All holes. D. Just like before, this value will determine how far beyond the edge of the hole the axis line should extend. E. Axis lines can be placed on a 45 degree angle is desired. For this exercise, leave it disabled by not placing a check mark. F. Real holes can been seen mainly when an isometric is used. Enable this by placing a checkmark beside it. G. Filled will add concentric circles inside the hole so that when it is plotted it will come out looking like a filled hole rather than just a circle. 9 A. How the element lines are displayed in the 2D Drawing can be controlled in different ways. Each of these is available in the Definition 2D Line display dropdown. Select From detail style for this exercise. B. The Colours, Line weight and Line style for each line type can be controlled from Line display section. Adjust the settings so that they match what is shown here. C. In order for the line weight to have any effect, the option Use line weight display must be enabled. D. When generating a 2D drawing, the elements can be placed using the same level as what was used in the original 3D model. To do this enable the Output on part level option. A. In 2D Display Common Line Display Center Lines the options exist to control which elements would receive a center line. In this case we do not want to display any center lines and so the With Centerlines option is disabled. 10 We need to create at least one text style for use in other areas of the detail style. In order to do this, adjust the settings in the 2D Display Common Line Display Text styles area to what is shown in the image. A. Set Style name to Arial B. Change the Text style in the dropdown to Arial C. Set the Text size to 0:0 1/8 D. Change the Colour to 255 E. When done left-click on the Add entry button. A. The Dimension line setting in the Dimensions Common section should always be set to either Steel US or, if using the concrete license as well, Steel+Concrete US. This ensures that GOSL and Checkers dimensions will be applied where applicable. B. In the DimensionStyle Normal area, the CAD dimension styles to be used, can be set. The list of styles available in the dropdowns are determined by the CAD dimension styles that are available with the model. Adjust your settings as shown in the image. 11 A. From the Holes in top View area we can control if the holes diameter is displayed or not. Additionally the text size, offset and angle to offset can be determined in this area. Enable Display Diameter. Set the Text size to 0:0 1/8 Set the Distance to 0:0 1/16 Make the Angle 45 The Distances section controls the spacing of the dimension lines. The first column is for longitudinal, the second for transverse and the last for inner dimensions. A. In this section we will leave everything at their default values except for the XLines to Object. Going across this row we will set the values to 0. With a value in place the lines will stop outside of the shape. If set to 0 then the lines will extend into the shape to the point they are referencing. Holes will have dimension lines extend to them in this fashion. In the Dimensions Single Part Reference Points section we will leave the Total Dimensions at their default Dimension settings but we will disable the Standard setting by selecting Do Not Dimension from both the Longitudinal and Transverses columns. Next we will add in a couple of dimensioning rules for Outer contour and Holes as Top View. A. To start, right-click in the window area and from the dialog that appears, select Dimension groups and then Add Modification. B. A new dialog will appear, from the Type group dropdown, select Outer Contour and then left-click on OK. C. Repeat steps A and B but instead of Outer Contour, this time select Holes as Top View. 13 A. With these rules added let s take a look at the Outer Contour first. Select it by left-clicking on it so that it is highlighted. B. Associate with Object tells how the dimensions will be placed. For Longitudinal and Transverse columns select the options shown. C. Referenced states where the dimensions will start from, in this case we will use Edge of part for both columns. D. With Additional Dimensions, the program is asking if, in addition to the one we need, do we want any additional dimensions reaching to the final reference point. In this case, we do not. Set both columns to No. E. Finally, the Position of dimension line determines where the dimensions should be placed. We can force them to the top, bottom, left or right for example but in this case we will set them to where the modifications take place by choosing Modification dependent. A. With Holes as Top View we will be doing the same thing that we did with the Outer Contour setting but use the values shown here instead. B. Set Associate with Object in both columns to Together. C. For Referenced, make both Start of part. D. Under Additional dimensions we will use No in both cases. E. Lastly in the Longitudinal column set the Position of dimension line to Always on Bottom and the Transverse column to Always Left. Note: You can move the selected dimensions closer or further from the element by using the up and down arrows near the bottom. 15 Section 02: Parts Exercise Description Using a copy of the detail style that was created in the first section for the gusset plate, we will look at how we can develop a single part drawing for an item with a leg on it such as an angle. Two views will be used and the short-shape option will also be covered. Copying the Detailstyle 1. At this point close the preview, go back to the Parts tab and left-click on the TRN GUSSET PLATE [4] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 2. From the list that appears, left-click on Load/Save and then Save style(s). 3. Next, left-click on the TRN GUSSET PLATE [4] style again and then right-click on it. 4. From the list that appears, left-click on Copy style, the Copy detail style dialog should appear. 5. When prompted, type in the name TRN BRACE ANGLE [4] and then left-click the OK button. 6. Next left-click on the TRN BRACE ANGLE [4] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 7. 16 Parts Preparing the detail style (Brace Angle) 1. If need be, begin by filtering the list like before so that the parts are separated and easier to find. 2. Select and expand the Bracing New Vertical section in the list from the Model window. 3. From here, select the Pos.x20 (L5x3-1/2x1/2) plate and left-click and drag it up on top of the TRN BRACE ANGLE [4] detail style that was just created. The Pos.x20 (L5x3-1/2x1/2) should now appear in the Views tab area. 4. Left-click on the Views tab. 5. Once on the Views tab, left-click on Pos.x20 (L5x3-1/2x1/2) to select it and then right-click on it to display a list of choices. From the list of choices, left-click on Preview. 6. Next right-click on Pos.x20 (L5x3-1/2x1/2) again and this time select Edit style. You should see a preview of the gusset plate as well as the detail style options. 7. Seeing as we copied the style we just made, most of the setting we need should already be in place. However we will make the following changes in the Detail Style: A. Under Default Settings Common change the Description to Brace Angle Detail Style. Copyright Bentley Systems, Incorporated DO NOT DISTRIBUTE Printing for student use is permitted 16
17 A. Under Default Settings Partial View leave the Automatic Selection options as they are. Note: Alternatively, specified views could be set by selecting Default and then enabling the desired views from the list below. A. From 2D Display Common check to ensure Shape Shorting is enabled by placing a check mark next to Short Shapes. B. Once enabled, set the Symbol Distance to 0:0 1/8. This is the gap that will appear in the shortened shape. C. The Min. Shape is the total length the shape must be before shortening will occur. Set this to 4:0. D. The option Min. Shorting is how much of the shape must be uninterrupted for shortening to occur. Use 0:5 here. E. Max Number relates to how many times the element can be shortened, which in this case will be 10. F. The Edge Distance sets how far from each edge to come in before shortening will begin to occur. Set this value to 1:4. G. The Shorting Symbol is what is displayed when the shape is shortened. 18 In the 2D Display Single Part section we will enable the symbol used to show where running dimensions begin. A. Display Origin should be enabled with a check mark so that the RD symbol will appear showing the starting location of the running dimensions we will use for our holes. B. Set the Symbol size to match that of the text size currently being used which in this case is 0:0 1/8 inch. This is only used when non-us dimensioning is being used and does not affect this exercise. Note: This RD Symbol size setting will also need to be set in the Dimensions Common Miscellaneous Text Display area as is shown later in this exercise. In the Dimensions Common section we will be adjusting the settings to show coordinate dimensioning for the drilled holes. A. Set the Type of dimension to Coordinate dimension from the dropdown. B. With the Dimension Style Coordinate now active, select the desired styles to use from the dropdowns available. In this case Bentley Arrow will be the main style used. Variants can be set as shown. C. The type of Coordinate dimension used can also be selected and in this case it will be Coordinate dimension. 19 In the Dimensions Common Miscellaneous Text Display section we will be focusing on: A. Text size should be set to the standard text size being used throughout. Set this to 0:0 1/8 inch. B. Distance RD controls the gap between the RD arrow head and the actual starting point. Set this to 0. C. The RD Symbol size, like the text size, will be set to 0:0 1/8. D. The Colour selection options control the colour values for each indicated form of text. The value -1 indicates that the colour used should be that of the level it is currently assigned to. In this case we will leave each of these values set to -1. When it comes to dimensioning the Single Part, we will go back to the Holes as Top View rule we set up before and make a couple of changes. A. Change the Position of dimension line to Always on top. B. Enable the coordinate dimensioning by setting the Coordinate dimension dropdown, which is now available, to From origin of detail. 20 Finally we will place some informative text below the drawing by going to Descriptions Additional text and setting the following: A. Display how many of the selected parts are required by enabling Quantity. B. A custom Postfix can be added to this displayed quantity by typing your person text into the provided box. In this case REQ D. C. Display the Position Number by placing a check mark here. D. Add a Prefix for your Position Number by typing MARK: into the provided text box. E. Add your Shipping Number next to the Position Number by placing a check mark in this box. F. Set the Annotation Styles Standard Style to Arial and the other dropdowns to ProSteel/Standard. Note: The shipping number can be displayed without the position number but if the position number is disabled, the prefix will be as well. 21 Section 02: Groups Exercise Description In the following exercises we will take a look at the detail style and see some of the settings that can have an impact on how the 2D drawings are generated for elements that are grouped together. From the list that appears, left-click on Load/Save and then Save style(s). 3. Next, left-click on the TRN BRACE ANGLE [4] style again and then right-click on it. 4. From the list that appears, left-click on Copy style, the Copy detail style dialog should appear. 5. When prompted, type in the name TRN COLUMN GROUP [08] and then left-click the OK button. 6. Next left-click on the TRN COLUMN GROUP [08] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 7. 22 Groups Preparing the detail style for Columns 1. Left-click the Display and Filter button on the Parts tab of the Detail Center. A. Change the Group Display dropdown to As Group Structure. This will show the groups in the Parts Tab and allow you to select the column group needed for this exercise. 2. With the TRN COLUMN GROUP [08] style in place, select, from the Column New Primary section, the Column marked GR Pos. C102 (W12x53) and place it onto the new style by left-clicking and dragging it up on top of the style mentioned and let go. 3. Left-click on the Views tab. 4. Once on the Views tab, left-click on GR Pos. C102 (W12x53) to select it and then right-click on it to display a list of choices. From the list of choices, left-click on Preview. 5. Next right-click on GR Pos. C102 (W12x53) again and this time select Edit style. You should see a preview of the column as well as the detail style options. 6. Seeing as we copied the style we just made, many of the settings we need should already be in place. 25 From Dimensions Single Part Reference Points with Total dimension selected, change the following: A. For the Longitudinal Direction, change the Associate with Object to Do not dimension. B. For the Transverse Direction, change the Associate with Object to Do not dimension. From Dimensions Single Part Reference Points change the following: A. For the Longitudinal Direction, change the Associate with Object to Do not dimension. B. For the Transverse Direction, change the Associate with Object to Do not dimension. 26 The Dimensions Groups Reference Points area will include the following changes: A. Start by setting the Associate with Object to Do not dimension in the Longitudinal Direction. B. For the Transverse Direction, again change the Associate with Object to Do not dimension. Continuing the changes in the Dimensions Groups Reference Points area, adjust the following: A. Change the Position of Dimension Line to Always Right in the Transverse Direction. B. 27 We will now add a new set of rules in the Dimensions Groups Reference Points area. Begin by Right-Clicking in the window with the existing rules so that a menu appears. From the menu select Dimension groups then Add dimension group. A dialog named Add group should appear. In this dialog from the Type group dropdown choose Plate Group, then in Group name type Plate Holes and left-click on the check mark to accept. In the window with the existing rules, left-click on the new set of rules to select them and then right-click on it so that the menu appears. In the menu, left-click on Add parts. If done correctly, the dialog Assign parts should appear. In here left-click the << button next to Description. This will bring up the Part description dialog. Choose Baseplate from this dialog and left-click the check mark to accept. From the Assign parts dialog, left-click on the downward facing arrow to add this part into the ruleset we created. 28 In the Dimensions Groups Reference Points area, the Plate Holes ruleset should now exist. Change the settings as shown: A. In the Longitudinal column change the settings from top to bottom to Holes, Each Hole, Reference point, No, None, At Part position, In each view and no. B. In the Transverse column change the settings from top to bottom to Holes, Each Hole, Reference point, No, None, Front Edge, Only in left view and no. Moving on to the Descriptions Weld Flags area, change the following: A. Ensure that the At Groups option is set. 29 In the Descriptions Position Flags area, verify the following items: A. In the General section, The Only first part view option should be enabled. B. Under Position Flags, only the For Group parts should have a check mark. C. Left-Click on the Distribution Settings button and adjust the settings according to the image below. Be sure to save a template when done and then return here. D. Select the TRN Group Drawing template you created in step C. You may need to select another area and return for the dropdown to refresh. Here in the Distribution Settings dialog, adjust the following settings: A. Enable Normal Shapes, User Shapes, Polyplates and Other Parts. Then from the dropdown beside each, choose the style created in the earlier course named TRN POS AND MARK PARTS. B. Disable Sub groups, Groups and Assemblies by unchecking them. C. Enable the option Don t check collision during insertion in the Distribution section. D. In the Options area enable the Use only parts with valid position numbers option. Make a template - In a folder you name TRN and call the template TRN Group Drawing, then exit and close the Distribution Settings dialog. 31 Copying the Detailstyle 1. At this point close the preview, go back to the Parts tab and left-click on the TRN COLUMN GROUP [08] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 2. From the list that appears, left-click on Load/Save and then Save style(s). 3. Next, left-click on the TRN COLUMN GROUP [08] style again and then right-click on it. 4. From the list that appears, left-click on Copy style, the Copy detail style dialog should appear. 5. When prompted, type in the name TRN BEAM GROUP [08] and then left-click the OK button. 6. Next left-click on the TRN BEAM GROUP [08] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 7. From the list that appears, left-click on Load/Save and then Save style(s). Groups Preparing the detail style for Beams 1. With the TRN BEAM GROUP [08] style in place, select the beam marked GR Pos. B501 (W12x22) and place it onto the new style by leftclicking and dragging it up on top of the style mentioned and let go. 2. Left-click on the Views tab. 3. Once on the Views tab, left-click on GR Pos. B501 (W12x22) to select it and then right-click on it to display a list of choices. From the list of choices, left-click on Preview. 4. Next right-click on GR Pos. B501 (W12x22) again and this time select Edit style. You should see a preview of the beam as well as the detail style options. 5. 32 Under Default Settings Common A. Change the Description to Beam Group Detail Style From Default Settings Partial Views A. Under the section Partial Views, enable Front View and disable all other views. Next left-click Automatic Selection and enable the With Optimization option. Note: When switching to Automatic Selection it will consider the views that are already selected and base its selection and optimization on these. 33 From 2D Display Common Groups adjust the settings as shown. A. In the section Endplates, set the View direction to View from inside. From Dimensions Common Miscellaneous adjust the settings as shown. A. In the section Gusset plates, disable the option With System Axis. 34 From Dimensions Groups ensure that the following setting is enabled. A. In the section General section, enable the option End plate dimensions. Next from the Dimensions Groups area we will change one of the existing rules by removing the associated parts and adding a new one. Start by expanding the Plate Holes ruleset by left-clicking on the + sign beside it. Next, left-click on the part to select it and then right-click to have the menu appear. From the menu, select Remove parts. Now add the new parts by selecting the Plate Holes ruleset again and right-clicking so the menu appears. This time select Add parts and the Assign parts dialog will open up. From here left-click the << button next to Description. This will bring up the Part description dialog. Choose Gusset Vertical from this dialog and left-click the check mark to accept. From the Assign parts dialog, left-click on the downward facing arrow to add this part into the ruleset. 35 Now that the Plate Holes ruleset is referencing the correct parts let s adjust the settings. A. In the Longitudinal column change the settings from top to bottom to Holes, Outer Hole, Start Ref. part, No, None, At Part position, In each view and From origin of detail. B. In the Transverse column change the settings from top to bottom to Holes, Equal Hole, Edge Ref. part, No, None, Inner Edge, In each view and no. Here we will add a new ruleset for Endplates. To begin with right-click in the window where the rules are located. From the menu that appears, select Dimension groups and then Add dimension group. The Add group dialog window should appear. In the Add group dialog window from the Type group dropdown, select Plate group. In the Group name area type, End Plate group. Left-click on the checkmark to accept the information. 36 Now add the new parts by selecting the Plate Holes ruleset again and rightclicking so the menu appears. This time select Add parts and the Assign parts dialog will open up. Set the Associate with Object dropdown in the Transverse column to Do not dimension. Continuing with the End Plate group ruleset, adjust the settings for the secondary view direction. A. Near the bottom of the dialog, left-click on the number button so that it changes and displays instead. B. In the Transverse column change the settings from top to bottom to Holes, First Hole, Standard, No, None, Outer Edge, In each view and no. From the menu that appears, select Dimension groups and then Add modification. The Add group dialog window should appear. In the Add group dialog window from the Type group dropdown, select Holes as Top View. Left-click on the checkmark to accept the information. 42 Section 02: Erection Drawings Exercise Description In the following exercises we will take a look at the detail style and see some of the settings that can have an impact on how the 2D drawings are generated. Copying the Detailstyle 1. At this point close the preview, go back to the Parts tab and left-click on the TRN BEAM GROUP [08] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 2. From the list that appears, left-click on Load/Save and then Save style(s). 3. Next, left-click on the TRN ELEVATION [96] style, included with the dataset, and then right-click on it. 4. From the list that appears, left-click on Copy style, the Copy detail style dialog should appear. 5. When prompted, type in the name TRN ERECTION [48] and then left-click the OK button. 6. Next left-click on the TRN ERECTION [48] style that you just created so that it is selected and then right-click on it. 7. From the list that appears, left-click on Load/Save and then Save style(s). 43 Erection Drawings Preparing the detail style for a Plan View 1. Left-click the Display and Filter button on the Parts tab of the Detail Center. A. Change the User Defined dropdown to PS Standard. This will show everything in the Parts Tab and allow you to select the view needed for this exercise. 2. Select the view marked Training_Z_12:0 and place it onto the new style by left-clicking and dragging it up on top of the style mentioned above and let go. 3. Left-click on the Views tab. 4. Once on the Views tab, left-click on Training_Z_12:0 to select it and then right-click on it to display a list of choices. From the list of choices, left-click on Preview. Next right-click on Training_Z_12:0 again and this time select Edit style. You should see a preview of the view at this level as well as the detail style options. 5. Next we will make the following changes in the Detail Style: Under Default Settings Common A. Set the Scale for this exercise to 48 B. Ensure that the Position Flags are enabled. C. 46 From the Dimensions Common area A. Enable the Label Dimension Lines option. Adding a Dimension Rule: Here we will add a new ruleset for Beams - Secondary. In the Add group dialog window from the Type group dropdown, select Shape group. In the Group name area type, Beams - Secondary. Left-click on the checkmark to accept the information. 48 With the new dimension style in place adjust the Beams Secondary settings as follows: A. In the Longitudinal column change the settings from top to bottom to Reference Point, Start Axis, Construction Axis, None, Always on bottom and Only if vertical. B. In the Transverse column change the settings from top to bottom to Reference Point, Start Axis, Construction Axis, None, Always Left and Only if horizontal. Adjust the Construction Axis settings to the following values: A. In the Longitudinal column change the settings from top to bottom to Dimension, None and Always on bottom. B. 49 The settings for Girts will be a little different. Start from the currently viewable settings change the settings as follows: A. In the Longitudinal column change the settings from top to bottom to Reference Point, Next Axis, No, None, Always on top and Only if vertical. In the Transverse column change the settings from top to bottom to Reference Point, Next Axis, No, None, Always Right and Only if horizontal. Now we will change how the cross-sectional elements handled: A. The cross-sectional view of an element can be controlled by left-clicking on the 1 near the bottom so that it changes to a 2. B. In the Longitudinal column change the setting for Associate with Object to Do not dimension. C. In the Transverse column change the setting for Associate with Object to Do not dimension. Note: It is recommended that you switch back to the standard dimensioning controls when done by left-clicking on the 2 so that the 1 shows again. This is an easy option to miss and the wrong settings can be changed if this option remains in the cross-sectional state. 50 In the Descriptions Position Flags area, verify the following items: A. In the General section, The Only first part view and No cross sections options should be enabled. B. Under Position Flags, the options For Mainparts and For loose Singleparts should have a check mark. C. Left-Click on the Distribution Settings button and adjust the settings according to the image below. Be sure to save a template when done and then return here. D. Select the TRN Erection Drawing template you created in step C. You may need to select another area and return for the dropdown to refresh. Here in the Distribution Settings dialog, adjust the following settings: A & B. Enable Normal Shapes and User Shapes, then from the dropdown beside each, choose the style created in the earlier course named TRN POS AND MARK PARTS. C, D & E. In the Groups section, enable Additional Flag for Groups and Mainpart without flag. Disable Mainpart data in Flag and set the dropdown to TRN POS AND MARK - GROUPS. F. Enable the option Don t check collision during insertion in the Distribution section. G. In the Options area enable the Use only parts with valid position numbers option. H. Make a template - In the folder you named TRN and call the template TRN Erection Drawing, then exit and close the Distribution Settings dialog.
