2 No.: Rp-6902U004A002-LG Title: Repair instructions for type dslb20 Important notes on carrying out repairs Work on the equipment must be carried out by specialist personnel (qualified person). In accordance with the technical rules for operating safety TRBS 1203 part 1, the qualified person must fulfil the requirements for the explosion protection tests in accordance with paragraph 2.1 (professional training), paragraph 2.2 (professional experience) and paragraph 2.3 (recent professional activity). In accordance with the ordinance on industrial safety and health (BetrSichV) 6, the employer (and thus also the qualified person) have to ensure that an explosion protection document is drawn up and kept up to date. The explosion protection document is to be drawn up before work is commenced. It is to be revised if changes, extensions or redesigns of the work equipment or work process are carried out. Any repair or exchange must be noted on the explosion protection document. Any repair or exchange must be carried out in a clean environment and in a workshop atmosphere. Any repair or exchange of components must be carried out in de-energised state - the equipment is to be disconnected from the mains. The instructions for opening/closing the equipment must be followed exactly as they are given in the repair manual. To finish off the repair, the operator or the qualified person from his enterprise must carry out an appropriate test (in this case a high voltage test on the equipment) and must acknowledge this in the explosion protection document. If parts are not repaired/exchanged appropriately, the guarantee liability of the manufacturer expires. If exchanging part of a piece of equipment for an original spare part, the legal guarantee period only begins for this spare part. No new guarantee begins for the entire equipment. If performing one of the aforementioned measures, it is assumed that the operator is familiar with the associated documentation and uses it correctly. 5 Loosen hexagon nut (width across flat 5.5) and remove with associated toothed washer. Loosen/undo slotted screw (do not remove this screw completely). Loosen retaining bracket from the flat module. Page 4 of 7

6 Remove flat module from the equipment and disconnect connecting leads. Consider polarity! Attach new flat module to the existing connecting wires. Consider polarity! Do not touch the flash lamp with your hands! Insert flat module into the guide slots and the centring pins into the lower part of the housing. It is to be ensured that the wires are securely installed! Page 5 of 7

Repair manual Fit the flat module into the slotted hole of the retaining bracket with a fixing screw and then push it all the way into the lower part of the housing. Then screw the hexagon nut (A/F 5.5) with the associated toothed washer and the slotted bolt firmly into the lower part of the housing. Ensure that the seal is properly seated and clean! Put on the upper part of the housing and screw it on carefully. In doing so avoid tilting the housing parts, clean the threads if needed and grease slightly if necessary using a suitable lubricant, e.g. Pariliq P40. Damaged seals must be changed! Page 6 of 7

8 Screw the upper part of the housing all the way onto the lower part of the housing. Then turn back the upper part of the housing a 1/4 of the thread max. and screw the safety screw firmly back in with a 3mm Allen key. Perform a visual and functional check after assembling the equipment Finally, a voltage test in accordance with EN :2009 ff must be carried out. The performance and result of the test are to be recorded on the explosion protection document!
