Optional module 13: 3-wires module 1.1 OM13 module functionality The OM13 3-wires module is supplied as an option to the Keystone EPI 2 actuators. It is possible to receive the actuator already equipped with the OM13, ordering it with the basic feature. Alternatively, it is possible to order the OM13 as a separate kit and install it in the basic actuator in the factory or in the field. The OM13 is an optional module suitable to accomplish the following EPI 2 actuator additional functionality: 120/240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 3-wire control for open/close operations, without additional power supply. Important For decommissioning instructions, please refer to the relevant chapter in the EPI 2 manual ref. EBPRM Important The OM13 command has to be provided by two separate switches for open and for close with a delay of at least one second between the two commands, when reversing the operation from open to close or vice versa. EPI 2 actuator must be electrically isolated before any disassembling or reassembling operations. Before any disassembling or reassembling operations, please follow in detail the relevant paragraph of the basic installation and operating manual (latest revision available). The electronic parts of the EPI 2 actuators and all optional modules can be damaged by a discharge of static electricity. Before you start, touch a grounded metal surface to discharge any static electricity. It is assumed that the installation, configuration, commissioning, maintenance and repair works are carried out by qualified personnel and checked by responsible specialists. Repair work, other than operations outlined in this manual, is strictly reserved to qualified Pentair personnel or authorized by the company itself. 1.2 Manufacturer Manufacturer with respect to Machinery Directive 98/37: Biffi Italia as specified on the EPI 2 label. 2 2. Installation 2.1 Installation on models 063 and 125 To assemble the OM13 into the EPI 2 actuator, proceed as follows: Verify that you received the correct OM13 3-wire module. The models 063 and 125 use the kit pictured in figure 1. Ensure that all the parts received with the OM13 are available as described in paragraph 4 and indicated in figure 1. Fig. 1 - OM13 kit for models 063 and 125 Gather the right tools for the assembly. With an Allen wrench unscrew the cover screws (figure 2). Remove the actuator cover (figure 3). 3 Remove the screws from the top printed circuit board (logic board). Screw the 3 aluminium spacers before proceed to wire the OM13 module. Remove the 3-wire power connector cable from the power card as indicated in figure 8. Place the OM13 card onto the EPI 2 supports (figure 9). 3-wire power connector Fig. 8 Fig. 9 Remove the 2-pins connector cable as indicated in figure 11 from J1 on the power card, and connect 2-pin connector from OM13 module. 4 Connect the 4-pins connector cable from the terminal board to the logic card as indicated in figure 15. Connect the 2-pins black connector from OM13 module as indicated in figure 16 to the 2-pins connector previously removed in figure 11. Connect the 2-pins black connector cable from the OM13 module to the power card as indicated in figure pins connector 2-pins connector Fig. 15 Fig. 16 Fig. 17 Screw the four screws located in the positions as indicated in figure 18 in order to fix the OM13 card to the logic card. 4 screw positions Fig. 18 Important Please note that all the connectors provided with the basic actuator and any optional card are physically different from each other (in terms of design and number of pins). In no way it is possible to make wrong connection of the connector. The OM13 card is now connected. Re-install the local mechanical indicator (figure 19). Replace and fix the actuator cover properly. 5 2.2 Installation on models 250, 500, 1000, 2000 To assemble the OM13 into the EPI 2 actuator, proceed as follows: Verify that you received the correct OM13 3-wire module. The models 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 use the kit pictured in figure 20. Ensure that all the parts received with the OM13 are available as described in paragraph 4 and indicated in figure 20. Remove the 2-pins connector cable as indicated in figure 30 from J1 on the logic card, and connect 2-pins connector from OM13 module. Connect the 2-pins black connector from OM13 module as indicated in figure 35 to the 2-pins connector previously removed in figure 30. Connect the 2-pins red and black connector from the OM13 to J1A of the logic card as indicated in figure 36. Place the plastic spacer between the logic card and OM13. Screw the four screws located in the positions as indicated in figure 37 in order to fix the OM13 card to the logic card. Fig 37 The OM13 card is now connected. Fig. 38 Re-install the local mechanical indicator (figure 38). Replace and fix the actuator cover properly. Do not electrically operate the EPI 2 when the electrical enclosures are removed. Operating the unit with the electrical enclosures removed could cause personal injury. 3. OM13 module setting and configuration For the EPI 2 basic actuator settings, please refer to the instruction and operation manual. The OM13 does not need any setting and configuration. 4. OM13 kit There are two different OM13 modules. A low power module for models 063 and 125 and a high power module for models 250, 500, 1000 and The OM13 option kit consists of the following items: - OM13 3 wire module - 3 pcs metal spacers (used for models 065 and 125) - 4 plastic washers (used for models 250, 500, 1000 and 2000) - 4 pcs screws Fig. 39 OM13 kit for EPI 2 models 63 and 125.
