3 INTRODUCTION This Blackbird 4K Pro HDBaseT Extender Kit is an ideal solution for extending HDMI video signals over long distances. It can extend a 4K@60Hz 4:2:0 signal to distances up to 230 feet (70 meters) or a 1080p@60Hz signal to distances up to 328 feet (100 meters) over a single Cat6 Ethernet cable. It delivers 10.2 Gbps bandwidth and supports bi-directional IR and RS-232 signal pass-through. It also supports the Power over Cable (PoC) feature, which allows either unit to obtain power over the Ethernet cable from the other unit. It is compliant with the HDMI 1.4 and HDCP 2.2 specifications. HDMI IN: HDMI port for connecting the video source device. 2. IR IN: 3.5mm jack for connecting an IR receiver (not included). 3. IT OUT: 3.5mm jack for connecting an IR transmitter (not included). 4. RS-232: 3-pin Euroblock connector for connecting to a computer for pass-through RS-232 signals or to update the transmitter. 5. DC 12V: DC barrel connector for connecting the included AC power adapter. 4

5 6. POWER LED: The LED illuminates red when power is applied. 7. HDBT OUT: RJ45 connector for connecting a Cat6 Ethernet cable to connect with the receiver. 8. CTRL/UPDATE: Switch to determine the behavior of the RS-232 connection. When in the CTRL position, the transmitter will pass RS-232 signals on to the receiver for control of a connected device. When in the UPDATE position, you can update the Valens IC program by connecting to a PC and running a batch file. Receiver 1. HDMI OUT: HDMI port for connecting an HDMI display. 2.
