3 General The NFC module is a high-quality product with the following performance characteristics: The stored data can be read out with NFC-capable operating devices. The NFC module can be read out with the Becker Service app. The communication distance from the NFC module to the operating device must not exceed max. 3 cm. You will find the current status on the type plate according to the following symbol: Please observe these Assembly and Operating Instructions when installing and setting up the equipment. Explanation of pictograms CAUTION ATTENTION CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in injury. ATTENTION indicates measures that must be taken to avoid damage to property. Denotes user tips and other useful information. Warranty Structural modifications and incorrect installation which are not in accordance with these and our other instructions can result in serious injuries, e.g., crushing of limbs. Therefore, structural modifications may only be carried out with our prior approval and strictly in accordance with our instructions, particularly the information contained in these Assembly and Operating Instructions. Any further processing of the products which does not comply with their intended use is not permitted. The end product manufacturer and fitter have to ensure that all the relevant current statutory, official and, in particular, EMC regulations are adhered to during utilisation of our products, especially with regard to end product manufacture, installation and customer advice. 3

4 Safety instructions The following safety instructions and warnings are intended to avert hazards and to prevent property damage and personal injury. It is important to follow these instructions. General information In addition to the fire and accident prevention regulations, the safety instructions given in EN 12453, EN 12978, VDE 0100, EN 50110, EN 60204, EN 50178, EN and ASR A1.7 must be observed. All work, including maintenance and cleaning, on electrical installations as well as other system parts must always be performed by trained technicians, in particular qualified electricians. The limits given in the technical data must not be exceeded. The illustrations contained in these instructions are intended as an aid to understanding how the product operates. Therefore, the illustrations may differ from the actual display on the product. Caution When electrical or electronic equipment and units are operated, certain components are live. Physical injuries or damage to property can result in the event of unauthorised interventions or failure to heed warnings. Notes on electrical connection and assembly All applicable standards and regulations for electrical installation must be complied with. Disconnect the electrical supply from the equipment before installing and connecting accessories and extras, and protect against unauthorised reconnection in accordance with the safety regulations. Only use spare parts, tools and accessory devices which have been approved by the manufacturer. Unapproved third-party products or modifications to the system and its accessories represent a risk to your safety and the safety of others. This means that the use of un- 4

5 approved third-party products, or modifications which have not been agreed with or approved by us, are prohibited. We do not accept liability for damage or injury arising from such actions. Before connecting the power supply to the control unit for the first time, you must ensure that the evaluation circuit boards (plug-in modules) are plugged into the correct position. If the boards are plugged into an incorrect position or the wrong way around, this may cause damage to the control unit. Intended use The NFC module is intended solely for the expansion of the BDC control unit and can only be operated with these control units. The NFC module is installed in the BDC housing. Please strictly observe the Assembly and Operating Instructions for the master control unit in relation to the commissioning, operation and repair of the system. The manufacturer accepts no liability for personal injuries, damage to property or for consequential damage arising as a result of improper actions. 5

6 Installation and function of the NFC module Using the Becker Service APP and the NFC module you can read out the serial number, version, error messages, clock cycles, operating hours and parameters on the master control unit. The data can also be read out when the control unit is off. The communication distance from the NFC module to the operating device must not exceed max. 3 cm. The position of the NFC antenna varies depending on the operating device. You can find the right position by moving the operating device over the NFC sticker. The parameters are written to the NFC module when the technician password is entered in the control unit. You will need to switch from status level to technician level in order to update the data. NFC communication is not possible while the parameters are being read out. Depending on the control unit, the read out can take up to 2 minutes. The parameters can be stored in the APP via menu item "Export Parameters". When the data have been exported, they are stored on the internal memory in the "BeckerDrives" folder of the operating device. To send the parameters you need to select the menu item "Share Parameters". Installation: Module M3 6

7 Module M2 The NFC module is located at the edge of the upper housing of the master control unit. Attach the supplied NFC sticker to mark its position.
