1 Factory assembled FO cabling system with LC-Duplex adapter-interfaces in PURE quality, GHMT channel certified Our motivation for the development of is the requirement of today`s high performance transmission protocols 40/100 and already soon 400 Gigabit/s Ethernet and 16 and upcoming 32 Gigabit/s Fibre Channel to FO-connectors with increasing quality. Especially the reduction of the maximum permitted loss of multimode transmission links caused by every rise of the transmission rate demands lower and lower insertion loss of FO-connectors. At singlemode data center cabling a general request of lower and lower insertion loss of FO-connectors don t exist. Because they have, for singlemode technology, very short transmission links inside of a data center, adequate optical performance. However the Fibre Channel singlemode is very sensitive to reflections in FO-connectors, which are mostly caused by contamination of the connector surface. Our PURE quality at 50µm multimode are, due to insertion- and return loss, higher than the in IEC Ed. 1.0 CD highest specified class grade Cm and conform at singlemode to the highest specified grade B of IEC und -2. The optical contacts integrated in LC-Duplex adapter-interfaces of the Trunks can not be soiled and damaged at the installation, by easily clicking them from behind into the front plates of the panels. The LC-Duplex adapter-interfaces are equipped with Duplex-protective plug with grip fitting and assured with sealing tag against unauthorized use. These sealing tags may only be opened by PURE certified personnel. Our LC-Duplex adapter-interfaces conform to LC-Duplex interface acc. to IEC and are equipped at the patch-side with integrated laser- and dust protection metal shutters. is a closed system, composed of PURE LCC Trunks and Patchcords. 3 Manufacturers of cabling components usually specify production limit values, measured in reference adapters against reference connectors according to IEC Such production limit values can not be used for planning transmisson links, hence application connections are random mated connections of serial quality connectors in serial quality adapters. Insertion loss of random mated connections is measured according to IEC The insertion losses of application connections have statistical normal distribution with maximum values higher than the production limit values. According to IEC the average (mean) of our LC Multimode 50μm OM2, OM3, OM4 LoIL connections is only 0.07 db. It would be too optimistic to plan with this very low value, because the measurement method is a laboratory test and it do not include all kinds of outlier values and neither the environmental influences and adversities in the application. Nevertheless, let your maufacturer guarantee and verify the parameter of quality, the average of the insertion loss, acc. to IEC For a safe planning of transmission links you depend on the guaranteed application limit value from your maufacturer. This is the value the connections mated by patching of a transmission channel do not excess. Therefor it is required that all connectors and adapters are from this maufacturer and that the connectors are undamaged and clean and mated professionally. IEC Ed. 1.0 CD specifies the application limit values with their grades for 50µm multimode connections. The chart below shows the so called total-process-capability of our PURE LCC connections, analyzed with a statistic software. In spite of these sensational good results, we defined the application limit values for our PURE LCC connections conservatively as follows: The maximum insertion loss value of PURE LCC connections is 0.4 db for 100% of all connections, none of the connections may excess the 0.4 db. Thereby we are about 0.2 db better than the highest specified grade Cm of IEC Ed. 1.0 CD. This grade specifies max. 0.6 db, but only for 97% of all connections. Our average (mean) value of PURE LCC connections is 0.15 db. We only can guarantee our maximum und Average value if the connections are patched Cleanly and professionally by personnel which Is trained and PURE certifified by us.
