This system includes a precision submersible pressure transducer that accurately and reliably senses the water level in the well and transmits the information back to the controller as a 4 to 20 ma signal. The Model 332AP controller unit located at the center of the panel compares the water level signal with the control point settings and turns the pumps on and off controlling the level in the well. The Model 3320 is a full duplex pump control system providing lead-lag, alternating-pump, control. Pump On and Pump Off control points are independently adjustable for both the lead and the lag pumps and can be set to any level within the range of the pressure transducer (e.g. 0 to 23 ft.). The lead and lag pumps will alternately turn on and off as the lead-pump on and off levels are reached. If pump capacity is exceeded and the lag-pump level setting is reached, then both pumps will turn on simultaneously and stay on until their respective off levels have been reached. The alternating pump feature allows the two pumps to equally share the workload and eliminates the need of adding external alternating relays to the system. Two H.O.A. switches are mounted on the panel, allowing the pumps to be switched between automatic and manual control. A simple method of configuration is provided using a front panel rotary switch and potentiometers. First the rotary switch is turned to the lead and lag pump on and off positions, then the potentiometers are used to set the control points as they appear on the display. Once the controller is configured the rotary switch is turned to the level position. The level in the well now appears on the display. The controller provides two 10 amp SPDT relay outputs. The relay coils are energized (normally open contact closed) when the output is in the pump-on condition. Should power to the panel be lost, the relays will deenergize and the pumps will be turned off.

They provide dependable, accurate pressure or level measurements under the most adverse of operating conditions. These transducers combine the latest advances in piezoresistive pressure sensing technology with an isolated, stainless steel, barrier diaphragm, which is used to contact the measured media. The transducers are housed in rugged, all-welded, corrosion resistant, 316 stainless steel housings. Titanium housings are also available for extremely corrosive media. High reliability, surface mount technology is used to provide precision signal conditioning with a power supply rejection of 0.001%. Approvals to FM, CSA and UL are available for Class I, Div 1, Groups A, B, C and D, and Class II, Div 1, Groups E, F and G and Class III, Div 1 hazardous locations. These instruments also meet CE approval according to EN and EN Hazardous location installations must be made inaccordance with local and national electrical codes and installed with an approved electrical barrier. Each transducer is shipped with a desiccant canister or an optional Aneroid Bellows that prevents moisture from entering the cable vent tube. Also provided with each tansducer is a traceable calibration card, specifying the input/output conditions and actual data recorded during testing.

The 332-AP has two channels, one for each pump, and provides a 3.5 digit bright red LCD readout of the measured variable. The readout may be 0/100% or in engineering units as specified. CONTROL ACTION Each channel provides independently adjustable trip (pump-on) and reset (pump-off) points. The trip action (high or low) is preset for each of the two channels by the positioning of a dip switch. For Pump Up applications, both channels are set to trip low and conversely for Pump Down applications both channels are set to trip high. When the input level crosses the first trip point, one of the two output relays will energize and the normally open contact will close, turning the pump on. A bright red L.E.D. indicates which pump has been activated. The output relays will alternate each time the trip level is crossed. This allows the work load to be shared between the two pumps, with only one pump working at a time. Should the input level cross the second trip point, then the pump that is not operating will be called into service and both pumps will operate simultaneously until the first reset point is reached. To prevent the pumps from running dry the relay coils are energized while in the tripped (pump-on) state. If the 332-AP loses power the relay contacts will go into the (pump-off) position.
