Online and Offline Tools For the configuration tools in MotionStudio, most of them have 2 states, Online and Offline. Online tools: Any changes made will affect the device directly. In order to transfer the parameter data from the unit to the PC, an upload from device at online is required. Offline tools: Any changes made will be stored in the MotionStudio program only and will not affect the unit. In order to transfer the changes to the unit, a download to device at offline is required. Download, Upload & Synchronize Download function is used to overwrite parameters in the unit and must be performed at offline. Whereas upload function is used to obtain the parameter values from the drive to MotionStudio and must be performed online. The synchronize function is mostly used when updating firmware or replacing units and is available for individual unit or every unit under one node. The synchronize function is a combination of download and upload functions. Read & Write to MOVITRAC B from MotionStudio After the drive is configured, click Switch to online mode from the toolbar to go online. To display the parameter, right click the drive from the Network window, Startup Parameter tree (Online). A new screen will pop up with all the parameters (Figure 292), expand the root directory and double click the subdirectory to view the current values of the parameters. Not all the parameters can be changed dynamically online. To change the numerical value, type the value in the field then press the Enter key on the keyboard. Figure 292: Parameter tree of MOVITRAC B in MotionStudio When need to change some key parameters which are not allowed to change online. An offline download is required. In toolbar, click Switch to offline mode to go offline. Perform any changes required and then in the menu bar, Edit Download parameter sets (Figure 293). Figure 293: Download window in MotionStudio 345 P a g e

Startup At offline state, right click on the drive, Startup Startup (Offline) will navigate to a Motor startup screen. One of the parameter sets needs to be chosen (Figure 294). [27] Figure 294: Startup parameter set selection window in MotionStudio 346 P a g e

User can choose up to 8 parameters to record and the recording will start as soon as the Start button has been pressed. The recording will be stopped when the trigger is activated. The trigger can be controlled via different signal sources such as manual, analog or digital channels (Figure 308). Figure 308: Scope configuration window in MotionStudio Since the maximum number of samples it can hold is limited to 2048 samples, the sample time needs to be carefully selected. By default, it is set to 1ms which corresponds to a maximum recording time of 2048ms. As the sample time increases, the maximum recording time will increase as well. After the recording is finished, press Load button to display the recorded data. 354 P a g e

Figure 309 is a ramping recording with sample time of 1ms for 3 parameters which are actual speed, output current and actual frequency. Figure 309: Scope window with active parameters 355 P a g e

Comparison The comparison function is used to quickly find out different parameter settings between 2 units. Right click a unit in the Network window and choose Comparison. Select the desired unit from the drop down list for Source 1 and Source 2. Two options are available, one is to use the project data and the other one is to upload the online data. In order to use the filter function, press the down arrow button and tick the desired paramters. Finally, click Compare button to process the comparision (Figure 310). Figure 310: Comparison of parameters from 2 drives in MotionStudio 356 P a g e

MOVITRAC B Standalone Control For safety reason, except for FBG manual control, Enable/stop and either CW or CCW options must be assigned to binary inputs (either actual or virtual) and set to ON in order to enable the drive. [47] Keypad Control To start the motor, navigate the keypad menu to FBG manual operation first. (Refer to FBG11B Keypad Module section for keypad module operation instructions) The FBG manual operation icon should be highlighted. Press right arrow button to enter manual operation. Now the FBG manual operation symbol should be flashing. Finally press the RUN button to start the drive. The knob on the FBG11B keypad module can now be used to control the speed. The minimum and maximum speeds are determined by P301 Minimum speed and P302 Maximum speed respectively. P122 Direction of rotation FBG manual operation can be used to set the direction configuration which applies to the knob on FGB11B keypad module. To stop the motor, simply press the STOP button. P760 locking RUN/STOP keys does not have any effect during manual operation. Terminal Control Terminal control refers to the digital input control. To enable terminal control, P101 Control signal source needs to be set to Terminals and P100 Setpoint source needs to be set to something like Bipolar or Unipolar to eliminate the external control. P601 to P608 are the places to assign individual function to the digital input terminals. Make sure to exit FBG manual operation if currently in (FBG manual operation will limit to the keypad control). Then press RUN button on the FBG11B keypad module to activate terminal control. (Refer to Table 79 for an outline of all the terminals) External Potentiometer Control In order to use an external potentiometer to control the motor, wire a potentiometer to the drive terminal AI11 and GND. The potentiometer is expected to have a range from 0V to 10V. (Refer to Table 79 for an outline of all the terminals) Set P100 Setpoint source to Fixed setpoint + AI01 will generate a resultant speed of the summation of the fixed setpoint such as n11/n21 and the analog input value. AI from 0 to 10V corresponds to 0% to 100% of the maximum speed. For example, if the setpoint is 100 RPM and the potentiometer reading is 5V with the maximum speed of 1000RPM, then the final setpoint will be V 1000 = 600RPM. 10V Choose Fixed setpoint * AI01 for P100 Setpoint source will obtain a resultant speed of the multiplication of the fixed setpoint such as n11/n21 and the analog input reading. AI from 0 to 10 V corresponds to 0% to 100% of the setpoint speed. For example, if the setpoint is 100RPM and the potentiometer reading is 5V with the maximum speed of 1000RPM. Then the final setpoint will be V 100% = 500RPM. 10V P101 Control signal source needs to be set to Terminals to activate potentiometer control. Make sure to exit FBG manual operation if currently in (FBG manual operation will limit to the keypad control). Then press RUN button to activate external potentiometer control. 357 P a g e

Fieldbus Control Communication between Gateway and MOVITRAC B Firstly, connect terminal 1, 2 and 3 (High, Low and GND) from Gateway X26 to terminal 1, 2 and 3 (High, Low and GND) from MOVITRAC B X46 respectively with a RS485 cable or Profibus cable. The gateway needs to be powered by 24V DC at pin X26:7 and X26:6. If 2 or more drives are present, connect terminal 4, 5 and 6 (High, Low and GND) of the previous MOVITRAC B to terminal 1, 2 and 3 (High, Low and GND) of the next MOVITRAC B. (Refer to Table 83 for an outline of DFP21B terminals) Plug USB11A/UWS21B into each MOVITRAC B and configure them in MotionStudio if MotionStudio is available. Otherwise set up the parameters via FBG11B keypad module. Set P880 SBus protocol to MoviLink with different SBus addresses other than 0 for each drve. (address 0 is always reserved for the gateway and valid SBus address for the drive is from 1 to 64). The SBus baud rate of the drives must be the same as the gateway, otherwise they will not be recognized by the gateway. Now unplug USB11A/UWS21B connection from the drive and plug into DFP21B and perform a network scan. The drives should appear under the SBus hierarchy. If MotionStudio is not available, the steps below in MotionStudio can be skipped as MotionStudio only provides an interface for gateway diagnosis. The exclamation mark indicates the parameters of the detected gateway has not been sent to MotionStudio (Figure 311). Reset the Autosetup DIP switch on the gateway and wait until H1 LED stays off. (Refer to Autosetup for Gateway Operation section for some information about AS DIP switch) Figure 311: Detected gateway under the communication port in MotionSutdio Right click on the detected gateway and choose Configure device. Enter a name for the gateway if necessary and click Finish button (Figure 312). Figure 312: Gateway online configuration confirmation window in MotionStudio 358 P a g e

The upload process will complete within a short period of time and click OK to accept the upload (Figure 313). Figure 313: Gateway online configuration completion window in MotionStudio After the gateway configuration, the exclamation mark on the gateway should be disappeared which indicates that the communication between the gateway and the drives have now been configured correctly (Figure 314). Figure 314: Detected drives under communication port 359 P a g e

Gateway Profibus Communication First of all, connect PLC and DFP21B with Profibus connectors and switch on the termination switch S1 for the last drive only. Also make sure the Profibus signal is terminated properly on each end of the network. Make sure GSD file sew_6009.gsd is installed in TIA Portal, then locate the gateway station in TIA Portal Hardware Catalog (Figure 315). Figure 315: DFP21B station in Hardware Catalog in TIA Portal If the master Profibus network has been established earlier, drag the gateway station into the Network view and join gateway into the Profibus subnet (Figure 316). Assign a Profibus address to the gateway based on the DIP switches setting. (Refer to Table 84 for setting Profibus address for DFP21B) Figure 316: Assign DFP21B station to the master PLC in TIA Portal Replace the empty module of Param-Channel in the module rack with the Parameter channel slave module from Catalog if necessary. At least one of the AS slave module needs to be placed on the rack (Figure 317). Figure 317: Parameter channel and AS slave modules in the module rack in TIA Portal Perform a download to PLC and the BUS FAULT LED on the gateway should be off once the download finished which indicates that the Profibus master has been recognized. 360 P a g e

Go online in TIA Portal will see there is a bit error displayed on the diagnostic icon (Figure 318). It is because PROFIsafe-Channel slave module is filled with an empty module. The PROFIsafe-Channel can only be filled with F-Module I/O slave module, which is not supported by the current PLC. Thus, this error could not be eliminated (Figure 319). However, this error will not affect the normal operation of the Profibus data exchange. Figure 318: Online network view of DFP21B in TIA Portal Figure 319: Online slave module status in TIA Portal If the communication between the gateway and the drive already exists (Refer to Communication between Gateway and MOVITRAC section for communication configuration), go online in MotionStudio and right click gateway in the Network window, Startup DFx Gateway configurator (Online). A green tick should be present on the left hand side (Figure 320). If any units have been added or removed, the AS DIP switch needs to be reset. (Refer to Autosetup for Gateway Operation section for some information about AS DIP switch) Figure 320: Gateway online parameters view in MotionStudio 361 P a g e

Click Process data configuration tab to show all the configured units (Figure 321). Figure 321: Gateway online communication with 2 drives in MotionStudio After the communication between Profibus master, gateway and the drive has been established, change parameter P100 Setpoint source and P101 Control signal source to SBus 1 for each of the drive in the network. This allows gateway to pass the Profibus control signals from the master to the drive. P876 Enable PO data needs to be set to Yes to allow PO data. The data exchange between Profibus master and the drive can be monitored via Process data monitor tab in the DFx Gateway Configurator (Figure 322). Figure 322: Gateway online process data monitor view 362 P a g e
